    Bernard's Last Growl

Members may have noticed that from 4.27am GMT the site was down. I sent in a ticket to URLJet, and was informed that the domain was not resolving to their servers, and that I should make sure the nameservers were pointing to them. Unfortunately, as those who read earlier reports may remember...

    Adding IRC to the forum?

May we presume you know how counter-productive enthusiasm is to fastidious and occasionally obstinate intps ? Still, it's mostly a question of the link: html doesn't fit into vBulletin that easily. So I'll wait for J. or O. to advise.

    Adding IRC to the forum?

Thanks, I'll consult with Jesin & Ogion first, then get back to you. On the admin panel, one goes to Styles & Templates/Style Manager; selects Edit Templates; then chooses the file to edit. Naturally, it's the navbar for the links above, but that code may not be correct for navbar links...

Guest Viewing resumed. Actually, may as well mention here the 'Big-vB Statistic', one of the German Hackmeister Coroner's modifications, is viewable only by members --- who so far couldn't view it since I had forgotten to mention the fact. Go to: http://www.intpforum.com/statistic.php ...

Because that's the way search engines find, collate and proffer content. They send billions of tiny mindless poorly paid bots to search through the web, interviewing sullen webpages. Think of it as market research.

Guest Viewing suspended again. We were getting 503 Server Busy errors, and I saw we had 10 x as many guests as members, which may --- or may not --- have something to do with it. As cannot be too often mentioned, most guests are not people therefore there was no rip in the continuum as a...

Upgrade to vBulletin 4 Virtually Impossible.

Well, we're safe for a year or two. VBulletin isn't going to send out a bug to wipe out all previous vBulletin versions: under the previous legal contract we can run 3.8.4 forever. Which in practical terms means about 5 - 8 years since computers by then will use 16GB to browse the web.

Upgrade to vBulletin 4 Virtually Impossible.
