Perhaps you mean the Arcade. Which will return when Ragnar is fully satisfied the move hasn't upset the delicate constitution of the forum.

Guest Viewing will remain off for a while to see if the number of connections diminishes.

After awakening him with an urgent phone-call, and enduring the drunken tirade of abuse we mutually exchanged, he consented to examine the rights there. It appears that when we instituted the main usergroup 'Noble Users' which members graviate to after certain qualifications, as distinct from the default 'Registered Users' where non-posters languish, Ragnar had been unable to administer the Gameroom due to an error in the hack. The Hackmeister emailed a tool to give admin rights to the hack, and Ragnar went into the bowels of the beast and added the Noble Users ID to the permitted usergroups. Which amusingly enough, included the wretched Registered Users.

I can definitely say, that even if I am deeply uninterested myself, games here are important to a large number of people.

Since we were closing, and expected the move to take a few days, and possibly a week for some persons depending on the speed of their ISP's propagation rate, and could have been closed for good had something gone ghastly wrong, an elegy was definitely in order.

Therefore the thread was forced. If you are stuck in indefinite loop mode, this is usually a sign you should examine your own conscience. Still the force-read goes away today.


I do understand that many people were unaware of the impending move, and the closure came as a shock to them, being wholly unwarned an' all.

Guest Viewing has been restored --- the absence of which led to fewer guests, but more registrations, and did not cut down upon the excessive total of visitors; as has the Arcade.

Both are subject to temporary withdrawal.






Videos were missing for an hour or so. This happens whenever the Post Cache is rebuilt, a necessity due to my noticing one of those abhorred 'Last Edited By...' notifications despite their being blocked in the admin panel usergroups. Owing to a mistake in AME, after rebuilding the cache, all posts need to be stripped and rebuilt themselves.

Superstitious it may be, but I'll refrain from starting a formal Server Down thread to replace the last until it becomes imperative.

However, the site was away from 9:30 am - 13:25 pm GMT this morning. URLJet 'unblocked the blocked IPs and rebooted the firewall'.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]It blocked me as well. The devise is called "RioRey" it prevents DDOS attacks.

Personally I think it had something to do with it blocking your dedicated IP not the incoming IP's.

As to how or why or how to stop this happening again, no indication.

Forum appears to have been down since 4pm GMT, judging by last post. I logged in at 6:30 pm and couldn't get through. I waited exactly two hours --- if one keeps retrying it blocks one's IP as above --- then sent a ticket in.

They replied quickly asking what was the A Record IP, and I stated it was the same as always. The forum returned but they haven't said what happened.
