  8. INTP FanGirl :)

    What do you mean?
  9. Programming?

Oh, yeah. Well, since you're just starting now, it's probably best to start with the latest version, which in this case is 3.0.
  10. Interesting Expletives

No, that actually already existed, apparently.
  11. Programming?

OK, starting with something like Robot Battle is fine. (Though I think Python may have something like Turtle or something...) I was just saying that if you're starting with a bare language, and not some sort of educational framework like that, then Python is probably better.
  12. Programming?

BASIC is easier to master than Python, yes, but that's because there's less of it to master. In Python, learning to do everything that BASIC can do is easier than in BASIC.
  13. Programming?

Great! You downloaded Python 3.0, not 2.6, right? If Python is hard to learn, then you're using a bad tutorial. Python is easy to learn. (FusionKnight, BASIC is not a good idea. BASIC is harder and less useful than Python.) I can help! (Moving this thread...)

OK, I'm going to sleep now. Good night.

  17. INTP vs INTJ

How do you decide that? Well, yes, but good intent does not always translate to good results.
  18. The "Descartes was an INTP" thread.

Ooh, some of the stuff you said in one of the later posts in that thread may be worth making a thread about. I think I'll do that later. (Not now. Have to sleep.)
  19. Teaching

I don't have much of a problem with teaching.
  20. Bad book?

From the Inheritance cycle, the first book was bad, the second book was horrible, and the third book (or at least the first half of it, I haven't read all of it) was mediocre (better than either of the first two).
  21. Thoughts Per Minute

How would you tell where one thought ends and another begins?
  22. Why hello there

Hello and welcome. Yay for taking an interest in everything!
  23. Death

Let that be a lesson to you, kids! Eating spinach speeds the process of aging! :p
  24. Bad book?

From what I've read and heard about Twilight, the book itself is probably just bad, not horrible. But it's also popular, which results HypeBacklash, which leads to Hatedom. See http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Twilight. Something similar happened with Eragon a while ago.
  25. The "Descartes was an INTP" thread.

Eh, that thing you said about his phrase "cogito ergo sum"...

  33. Anyone do this?

If I heard someone I knew trying to pull that, I would probably jump in with a comment similar to the one I just posted.
  34. Anyone do this?

But there you're really answering "why are you" or "how did you come to be", not "how are you".
  35. INTP vs INTJ

    I still win. :D
  36. Making Science its Very Own Thread, separate from Religion and Philosophy

No, your opinion has weight. You're only incapable of doing anything directly.
  37. Who is the smartest on the forum?

IQ tests are biased in favor of people who are good at IQ tests.
  38. flashdrives

U3 only works on Windows (and possibly Wine), so a U3 drive will act pretty much like a regular flash drive on Linux. Aside from that, flash drive quality should be OS-independent.
  39. Who is the smartest on the forum?

We used to have a member called "shoesupplier". I nominate hir.
