Um, no, that isn't really what inferior functions are like. If we're mature enough, we can use them fine and even enjoy it. It's only unhealthy when we try to use them too much without going back to the dominant function for too long. That's when we get really stressed and then bad stuff...

Yeah, I think that's actually a better word for it. It's also "recharging" in the sense that, if you have to use your Fe for too long without getting a chance to stop and think, you're probably going to get really stressed out.

You still have to be able to stop and think for a bit to recharge afterwards, though, yes?

People do this sort of thing all the time, though perhaps usually to a smaller extent. It's where the phrase "on the other hand" comes from. If you want to be more explicit about where the conflicting ideas are coming from, go ahead. I like getting to see other people's thought processes.

To me, this looks like quite a misleading distinction to try to make. There are too many shades of meaning that it just fails to account for.

Sometimes I get lost in the trees and lose sight of the forest. Other times I get so wrapped up in admiring the forest that I forget it has trees in it. I wonder how I might go about looking at concepts and generalities and making decisions on a case-by-case basis at the same time. Any ideas?

Yeah, individual numbers get boring fast. Except for a few weird ones, like e and pi. Those guys keep popping up everywhere! You know what you get if you take the factorial of -1/2? The square root of pi! You generalize the factorial function to a function that's continuous for everything...

No, it isn't. That isn't what Fe is like at all. I think it's just your Ti getting distracted when your Ne finds interesting stuff. Ti likes figuring things out using logic, it doesn't really care much about getting things done. Te is the one that gets things done. But no, I'm pretty sure...
