Started watching Mindhunter on Netflix (Season 1 = 10 episodes). I had read the majority of John Douglas' books about the development of the FBI profiling program, and this show jumps back to the 70's to dramatically explore the development of this program. They realize there's a huge deficiency...
Is this an actual term, or just something else that you have invented and defined yourself? (usually i see the term "compartmentalizing" used to describe people suffering cognitive dissonance.)
I would just break this down as a "reasoning" vs "instinctive" approach -- the first person needs...
So we've been playing 5e (our first 5e campaign after mostly just Pathfinder), and the GM is taking us through the pathfinder series "Curse of the Crimson Throne."
We're level 5. I am playing a Monk of the Long Death -- or, rather, "mechanically" I am a monk but I am referring to her as a thug...
I think it's good to get more variety in the various seasons, and Lange just dominates when she's around.
However, that's because she is such a damned good actress. She's phenomenal, with a rich range and total fearlessness on the screen. I love her and do miss her here.
I grew up before home computers, so when I saw my first Apple IIe, I fell in love. Computers always made sense. I always knew how to find things on the system, and understood how things should work, and... it was all intuitive.
I was actually composing music in single note BASICA on IBM compats...
Re: AHS Cult
Oh hey, yes, another who doesn't get clown fear either.
They are just clowns. Like, whatever.
Anyway, my favorite seasons were Hell House (Season 1) and Coven (Season 3), although I liked the twist in Roanoke (Season 6) and the one season I have not yet watched is Hotel...
I watched the pilot and have the backlog of the rest sitting on my DVR, I will probably blitz through 'em shortly. ;)
How about that Evan Peters. Wow.
I still don't understand the fixation with clowns from some folks. like, okay, if they are done up right, they can look kind of creepy...
Who, Snoke? The "superbad" of the new trilogy?
... I just wanna know who left that screaming puffin muppet in there.... dear god, i thought the spirit of the ewoks had been crushed beyond repair....
yeah i saw it last night.
I didn't think there was anything really shocking or spoilery about it, it's pretty much the kind of stuff one could guess. It also had the crap edited out of it (i.e., was full of cuts), so it's likely a lot of it was reassembled to be misleading where possible.
While the forum apparently can't get its shit together on discussing trans topics, I was out being constructive and watching Blade Runner 2049.
Loved this. One of the best movies I have seen all year. I felt like it took themes from the original without undermining them and then built its own...
We have more important things to do, like kicking out members with preexisting conditions.
Besides, we've got the BEST newbs, the YUGEST newbs. One day you're gonna come crawling to us and begging for our newbs.
gee I dunno smart guy -- do you think it was a fallout joke?
Or was it just...
DAMMIT. Why didn't I read the whole thread first?
*phasers self, lets Jenny Clone 2 take over*
.... sorry team, I was too socially apt and only got 4 points. :( I have let everyone down!
dear god, Haim's right. Bewildering to parse... but absolutely right!
We gotta ignore everything everyone says!
That's good. Maybe eventually my opinion of your rational skills will have time to recuperate.
If you actually do some research on the topic before engaging it again, that would improve things immensely. Right now you're about on par with fundamental Christianity in understanding gender...
Greetings, member of clone family Bar.
I think I know your prior incarnation BarIII.
Worship the computer! Shoot mutants on sight! Heckle the commie fascist machine workers! Confiscate all contraband!
Our loss was INTPx's gain.
TMB is in a far better place.
So many of our dearly departed are now in INTPx heaven.
It would be selfish of us to complain about their newfound joy after death.
(They are also infiltrating INTPx's ranks to give us an advantage in this war, so there is another...
That is the question.
Do I want to be astute at accurately guessing facial expressions or am I supposed to reinforce the cliche of INTPs being entirely clueless about them? Which option helps my team win?
Damn this war. Three days of fighting in the trenches and as in most wars no one ever...
Stop fraternizing with the enemy and telling them we ban born-again Christians!
After all, onestep is still here. And pyro maybe? And...?
EDIT: You've been handing out presents? Where's mine?
God, now I have to either go outside and paint my shed that I'm four weeks behind on finishing before winter buries me in snow, or I can sit here online and do brain teasers to fight a virtual war that will leave only mental anguish and pervasive self-doubt to cripple the losers.
Life is full...
What if I said it was an opportunity to reinvent the Poo Cannon (TM)?
You gotta dream, baby. Surely a transhumanmechanoid such as yourself can improve the velocity of certain inelegant biological functions for a myriad of useful purposes.
Kudos to you for being at the more assertive/engaging end of the spectrum.
Yes, if you gear up and direct your resources towards the external world, and develop self-confidence, then your potency can become formidable. Why do you think the direction of integration for Fives predicts a movement...
yessss I think that's correct.
I don't think "disliked" is correct because of the innocuous nature of the INTP male in general (unless it's the cynical flavor that is always telling everyone why their ideas are stupid and their traditions are abusive). Mostly where the INTP male would be an...
It sounds more like INTPComplex is simply INTPForum's afterlife AKA Hell.
You are such a starry-eyed idealist.
The rest of us fight so that your children might live to make jokes in a funnier world.
What Mister Gopher means to say is that INTPForum is locked and loaded with fire, fury, and...
Yeah. INTPCentral's tech infrastructure was dying but never got fixed for months and then years, and finally all the INTPc'ers got on their lifeboats and sailed to a new beautiful web site as one, overseen by the benevolence of the god Ptah, leaving their old home to sink beneath the surface of...
Sniff. Never again to see TMB's crazy movie selections in here, or his criteria for success ("hot main actress")...
Anyway:
Punch-Drunk Love: P.T. Anderson is a director I like, he always surprises me and usually has something to say. Also, this is one of the few movies by Adam Sandler I...
I hate games where I have to learn very specific movements by rote and then hit them all perfectly each time in order to not die. (like, doing jumps to cross chasms in games irritates the sh-t out of me.)
I guess, though, all that being said...
... "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out" for NES back when it...
Polaris covers a lot of it better than I can.
But the basic gist is, while your instinct (abstraction) is that the perpetrator should be able to piece it together and ideally this would be the "fair" approach, realistically they are usually not in a position to understand their actions and the...
Yeah I generally agree with that. I understand maybe where to draw a line can be fuzzy, but the extremities are diverting from resolving actual problems (because they are each used as examples by the OTHER side to dismiss the entire opposing position) and also creating additional divisiveness...
