Seriously, your comment and the tumbleweed signify that much. I spent like two minutes mulling over whether your use of the word "poll" was a pun. I guess it's not. Now I feel like a total sicko. Thanks for that. The reason I didn't insert - okay that's a pun - a poll is because I didn't want to make things too scientific: I was just shooting for - getting carried away now - a general discussion. Also, the range I gave as certain options might dissuade or dictate a certain response, and I wanted to steer clear of that. There was, lastly, this thought that males and females might predictably show disparate numbers and that the options, perhaps, would not subsume those differences. Rarely*. After finding someone to have it off with, it usually follows about 2-3 months where I don't particularly fancy it (sex, or any related activity like masturbation). If someone had showed me a picture of a naked female then, I would have looked at it more like a picture of a flower.
I think my sex drive has changed drastically the last year or two after I did some heavy (for me at least) experimentation in the area. It has sort of lost it's novelty for the time being (at least sex with women I don't really care about), and I am more looking to try out a relationship in favor of pursuing a female for the sake of sex only (I'm tired of it. And I'm tired of stupid women.).

When I had a high sex drive I would complain and wish I didn't. Now that I have a lower sex drive, I wish it was higher.

*For the last two years it has varied from 1 to 2 times every other week, or none at all. Before that, I was pretty normal in that area. The amount seems to increase, or decrease depending on how long it was before I last had sex and probably on my mood and overall outlook.

Well, it's definitely a truism that ninety nine percent of men flog the bishop, and close to one hundred percent of the other one percent is lying out of shame or religion or something else ridiculous.

A valid point was brought up by Kantor, and so I would put my frequency at between two to seven times per week. More than once a day is senselessly tiring for me; early mornings, moreover, are a terrible time to consummate the deed because I feel totally groggy and lackadaisical going forward.

That figure I gave assumes there is no other outlet, so to speak. In the solo arena, it's really just a biological imperative to shoot off every once in a while, and so it's basically just a way to feel less edgy and change your mood and, therefore, thoughts slightly. There might not even be lewd imagery involved.

Folks would have an easier and presumably more enjoyable time with this stuff if they disentangled sex and its derivatives from their own identity. You're going to be long gone in one hundred years, well hopefully, so who gives a rat's arse?

I've been experimenting with not fapping..

1st attempt 2 months and 1 week. Wanted to see what would happen if I fapped a few times, didn't give up. Noticed some sleep changes, mood changes.
2nd attempt currently, I'm at a month. I feel physically stronger, although that could be from building muscle too lol.

Your experience with abstinence, which mirrors my own, simply underlines the degree to which we are chemical beings, elegantly composed of cells. The trick is find out what underlies and informs this sexual energy (prana, jing, whatever) so that we can exploit it. Even Nietzsche thought that unused semen was/could be reconstituted by the body to nourish the brain; this process partly has something to do with cerebrospinal fluid maybe. Personally, if anything is going on, I feel it's probably attributable to these pivotal neurotransmitters like acetylcholine and prolactin and dopamine and minerals like zinc, which are affected by seminal emissions or abstinence.

The first time, I finish embarrassingly fast, the second and third time I have perfect control, after that I need to work a little. It depends on how in shape I am though.
Also I don't need to wait in between, I can just cum and keep going. Lots of time's I've started having sex, finished in the first 20 seconds, kept going, and the girl was none the wiser.
