I've had this name since '07, the first place it was used was in Deviantart.
It actually comes from a biblical demon which I stumbled upon one day as I was looking thourgh wikipedia's demon list. I thought the name sounded cool and I liked the description so it stuck.

I can't really remember how I got SaffyAngelis, It might have been from the spice Saffron, and then angels, and then I think that was taken, so I put angelis instead, and it worked.

After a while, it just felt like it was me, and so I don't feel like changing it really.

Not that I imagine you're anything like that. :D

Oddly enough, that sounds like me. Just add forgetfully, and make the mum not so flower power, but more controling, and the friend hyper and clingy and talkative.

Okay, in the spirit of this quote that I've seen "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." ~Dr. Seuss

A mud eye is another name for a young dragonfly, and I'm not comfortable with the alternative "nymph". I also liked the fact that "eye" is in the name, as I have just found out that I am INTP, and am very excited about the fact that I actually do have something called intuition. I am just beginning to embrace this and trust this on a conscious level. I love the beauty of dragonflies and all that they can symbolize, and I thought a young dragonfly was more fitting for me right now, despite my actual age, as it's not about the number or how old I "feel" (sorry, I couldn't resist that one). Also, since I'm kind of coming back from some trauma, I'm a little cloudier than I once was, so mud eye seemed to ring true on that level as well. I, of course, know that will change, hopefully for the better.

And, choosing my nickname was my way of revealing myself in a somewhat creative way. I want someone to know me, too. And, it was fun for me to do.

My avatar could be considered as loosely related, but still relative...and reminiscent.

I was the only one in my class who couldn't stop laughing when the "Cinna the Poet/Conspirator" scene occurred in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar play.

It also reminds me of cinnamon. Which is good in food.

Re: Why did you pick you name?

I'm a computer tech and its an inside joke. Dumb User error = Error code ID 10 t. So I chose NoID10ts for some reason.

The other one we use is "there is a loose nut behind the keybord" but somehow "NoLooseNuts" just didn't sound right (at least on this type of forum)! :D

That is so awesome. I make those kind of errors all the time. ;) I'm also a loose nut... :o

Oh--my name's mathy because I like math. Go figure.

My name has several reasons behind it.

1. Nirvana is one of my favorite English language bands.
2. Nevermind, Nirvana's break-out album(though not their best) was released the year I was born, 1991.
3. I grow weary of explaining things to those who lack understanding, thus I often just end up with "never mind".
4. I tend to be in the background observing. Never mind me, I'm just listening, go on with your conversation.

Quite frankly, it's the most perfect username I could come up with describing me. :D

I was once writing a paper on logical positivism and saw a book by Carnap laying around. Although I don't agree with him much and his attempts to create a demarcation of science and metaphysics sorta failed...I was pressed for a name.

The inner reaches of my mind
When I was in 9th grade, an aquaintence gave me the nickname 'Kia'. She was in my history class and it was an acroynym for Know It All. Go figure.

She's the only one who called me that until I joined deviantART in 10th grade. I had a username and such, but didn't feel like going by it (plus it was long). So I was brainstorming for a nickname with one of my online friends. I told her everything I'd ever been called, and she picked 'Kia' because she liked the sound of it.

Moving further still, my group of friends grew and we were always messing with each other's names (They still sometimes call me 'Kiikii' in jest). I don't know when, but at some point "Kianara" came out and we decided it was my 'full' nickname. I liked it, used it on this forum, and kept it.

Whenever I look at it I can't help but remember 'Know It All' though. Very INTJ.

I don't know how much you guys frown upon necroing threads, but I think this thread deserves a necro, as there are certainly other weird backstories behind names. It's also only about 2 weeks old.

I made a name for a game called Darkfall (which has since released and didn't turn out that well, though this was over 2 years ago, before the game was even in beta). I had joined a group intending to be mercenaries within Darkfall, and needed to come up with a decent name for my character (suffice it to say that the name I used on the game's forums would not have made a good username). The name wound up being Latro Latronibus, which is actually Latin and translates roughly to "a mercenary among mercenaries." I truncated it to Latro and have used this in a number of different Internet contexts already. Conveniently I've never seen anyone else use it online, so I don't have to come up with anything else.

Also, XIII: interesting choice...I sure hope XIII redeems the epic failure of X-2 and the relative failure of XII.

'Con cojones' in Spanish means someone 'with balls'. I'm using it in the figurative sense here.

Reason for this post are the increasing tendencies of (well-meaning) co-posters to refer to me as 'Coco Jones', 'Conco', or other interesting varieties ('Cuckoo', anyone?).

because I'm incredibly lazy and have been using this for years. My dad is actually the one who used it first, so Im trying to come up with an equally appropriate name that is one of my own design.

the damage is already done though, even my closest friends call me Glovehead.

Hmm... Ranondrugs.

Ran on drugs: I used to run on drugs, illegal ones.
Ran on drugs: I'm still on drugs, legal ones. Ran's my actual nickname for a long time now and it means Chaos in Japanese.

So it's I ran on drugs and I used to ran on drugs, all mixed up.

I'm named for Schneizel el Britannia, a character from Code Geass.

I share his political views and wish one of the better countries of the world would implement some form of his plan on the lesser ones (nuke any country who doesn't submit to his will and his will is for them to sit down, shut up and start acting like rational human beings - no more fighting).

Aside from that, Schneizel in the show is an extremely calm person, either not possessing or suppressing his emotions and dealing only in logic. His character is a lot like I am, just with greater ambition, charisma and flair for the fabulous.

Kaze = wind in Japanese

Craven = coward/cowardly in.... English.

My favorite element (out of earth, fire, wind, and water; not periodic element) was wind for as long as I can remember.

Craven just sounded cool, and I used to be (or maybe still am) quite shy and cowardly. It's also an actual last name.

I've used the username scourge... for a while now *tries to tack it down to a specific time...* but often times, on popular sites and games, scourge was taken, so I used scourge42 for a while, as 42 was my favorite number (this was sometime shortly after reading the Hitchhiker's guide books). Later, however, 42 was taken, and I wanted to chose another number that wouldn't mean anything, but would seem like it would. I toyed with 7365, but it didn't fit, so I chose 47. Later, because I didn't want to be just seen as *insert name**insert number*, I converted 47 to roman numerals, to become XLVII

It's something that people actually call me.. Android. It's a combination of the first part of my first name, Andrew, and the last of the last, Boyd. Androyd.

I like it much better than Wander Body.. which is derived by juggling the letters in my name around. A few people still call me that :/

It's beautiful aesthetically, and unconditionally loving my life (or fate) as it is is a great challenge for me. My rational mind doesn't understand unconditional love, but I don't think love is supposed to be rational.

My name originated from Gency Loc. It came to me while using an elevator with a very faded sign. I'm not quite suer what it said I just remember there being two words Emergency Located with the Emer and the ated parts of the words gone, the only unfaded letters on the sign read 'gency loc' it sounded good, so I used that name for a littel bit then it became Gebcy Loc now its Gepcy Loc.
