A Dutch magazine, but the quiz is in English. And is flash: clicking through 25 questions.

Insanely I got as high as 31%, but many answers are dependent on psychological type more than severity or religion. After all, most INTPs are not so likely to suddenly leap on a table and loudly belt out show-tunes at a public function than is the average extravert, regardless of moral belief.

One of the questions presupposes a faith in god on the part of the test-taker, I nearly blew up.

John Wesley

Odd, if there was anything Wesley detested --- and he detested a lot of things --- it was Calvinism. However his movement fissipated into sects, he remained essentially a High Anglican in theology.

Plus his mum was a Jacobite.

Yes, a general/very vague idea. But it doesn't seem necessary to do this [bringing god into the discussion] in measuring and comparing + contrasting proclivities/lifestyles - which is what I though they were doing.

You have some Calvinistic features.

In some respects, your life is that of a Calvinist, just a little softened on the edges.

Working hard is fine with you, but your attitude towards others isn't necessarily radically black-and-white. You life your life in a temperate and moderate way, but you don't mind a little extravagance every now and then.

But the motivation behind why a person answers a question the way they do is far more important than the actual answer they pick, which this test entirely misses ^_^

Example: It is quite important for me to fully understand the bible, if I am to reject or accept it. To do otherwise would be an exercise in ignorance.

Apparently I'm a hedonist.

In that question about if or not making exceptions to established rules weakens them, well on one hand I agree that a system of rules must be consistent if it is to be respected, but on the other I realize that being overtly strict/unsympathetic only encourages rebellion, after all one should also respect the reasons why the rules have been established.

Test your C-Factor39%

You are somewhat of a Calvinist. Some of your points of view make you look like a Calvinist. However, you live your life in a lighter way than Calvinists do, which allows you to enjoy it more.

Actually I thought an INTP would be likely to be a pretty good Calvinist according to this test, without taking the God part into account. In particular the personalitypage profile (lack of display of emotion, self-critical, "simple daily needs") seems quite compatible with many outward manifestations of Calvinism.

Results tell a different story, though.

EDIT: I am enneagram type 4w5. And when I changed 2 answers to better reflect what I believe I got 72%.

Those who are of enneagram type one and 5 are supposed to score very high here. However, the one is a J domain and only very few P score as such. I wonder if the average calvinism score would be higher on the INTJ forum.

Work 71% You sure have a Calvinistic working ethos. You never work hard enough; work for you is your bounden duty. You are the type of employee any company desires, but the balance between your work and private life may get disturbed.

Strictness 20% You know how to enjoy life. You don't always spend your time in a useful way. Mind the balance!

Sobriety 33% You were not born to be a Calvinist. Catholicism suits you better slightly hedonistic, loose and emotional.

Relationships 100% You are a reliable partner, though you could be more enchanted. Don't be afraid of emotions!

Beliefs 0% You are an unconcerned believer, who doesn't worry too much.

I can see 1, but 5, not so sure.

ok... I didn't actually look at the test at all (I don't really find these little personality things very interesting, to be honest), but Calvinism is quite literally a branch of biblical theology. It's named for people who follow a French Theologian's interpretation of the bible, called "reformed theology."

Now that some people have posted more detailed information on their results (work, strictness, sobriety, relationships), I can see why you identified it as a test of lifestyles and things... but at my first glance, seeing someone get mad because a Calvinism-purity-test presupposed faith in God made me gawk in disbelief a little bit.

Claverhouse :phear:

Yes, Wesley, my namesake, detested the very idea of pre-destination and from my POV with very good reasons. Although I was never an adherent of Wesley's Methodism, I am still amazed at how many ideas I share with Wesley. I am assuming, of course, that is because those ideas originate in the God that we both worship.... There is a fairly interesting account of his life and theology on Wiki.

BTW - Morovians?

I got quite a bit on 'work' I think most of that score was to do with the fact that I know I /could/ work harder, and I probably /should/ too.
(Doesn't mean I'm going to though ^_^ Procrastination is waaaay more fun)

Also, 42 \o/
