Pure breds tend to have more problems because of unscrupulous breeders and pet stores are poor places to get a pet. Mixed breeds are the best. Just make sure no Jack Russel is in the mix.

Maltese have long(ish) curly hair. They look like poodles. For short hair, a pug or dachshund fits the criteria if you want a small dog. No puppies are low maintenance but those two are less maintenance as they grow older. Still, mixed breeds are the best. Local shelters have plenty of puppies so they are cheaper too. Pure breds bought in a store or from a breeder can be expensive to buy and keep healthy.

Actually, it is not for me. I would prefer not to have a pet, I'm too lazy to take care of it. But, as I must share the house with the dog, those are the things I am looking for in it.

I do like cats better, though.

I've heard that mini-Dobermans are a nice breed that would fit your criteria...
I only have experience with largish Shepherd Dogs (German Shepherds and Border Collies) myself so I can't vouch for any others, although a friend of my had a Doberman/Roc cross that was smarter than many people I know...

I do not know. I do not study animal types too often. Sorry, but I'm sure somebody else would be able to answer your question. Don't worry about hijacking the thread, a few others are doing a far better job of it.

There's a lot of breeds that can have the solid white color. The face looks like that of an American shorthair. Abyssinian is possible too.

*Shoes are good to practice your fighting skills, destroy as many as you can.

Dominate dogs no matter the breed will always be more energetic, although that isn't to say that they can't be calm either (I have an akida mix who dominate yet has a wonderful temperment when it cmes to humans), but you're more likely to find what you need if you opp for a submissive dog.

It looks more like a Turkish Angora to me. It looks like it has medium to long hair. Alright, so I went and checked breed standards and it looks just like the pictures they show.

Other that that, I third IB. Get one from a shelter, definitely, and if you can, see their mother first, for an indication of what the puppies MIGHT turn out like. A cross-breed seems like your best bet, too. My experience is mostly with collies and other sheepdogs, though, so I can't help all that much.

A basset-beagle mix is good, but get one from a few generations down from the purebred. The initial hybrids can be unpredictable, further breeding brings out a more calm mix.

What do you mean by "any dog"? Yes, some dogs are born with a tendency towards dominance while some will seem to be nothing but follower material, due to their natural psyche.

The unique dog plays a role in determining whether it is dominate or not, or has that tendency, true, but their breed also plays a role in the extent of effort it will take to become its "pack leader." The energy level correlates with the breed, often times, and pure physical strength and size will also factor in to how one manages the dominance of the animal- thus breed is an essential factor to consider in the process of domination. More powerful breeds will be harder to dominate, generally speaking, then a breed that is less powerful.

True-- the purpose for which the breed was developed also plays a part. A herding dog, say, will be a lot more eager to look up to humans and will be a lot less aggressive than a guard dog, because aggression was bred out of herding dogs as much as possible when the breeds were developed, for obvious reasons, but was bred into guard dogs, for equally obvious reasons. Their energy levels can contribute to them becoming bored and destructive or mischievous, too, if you don't exercise them properly.
