I would, but I've got some throat infection at the moment so I sound like a drowning cat on helium. Quite literally.

So where's your recording Parody?

I'd do it, but I'm too lazy...
(plus, I'm ill at the moment, and so I sound funny)
(but mainly, 'cos I'm too lazy.)

Now that's just a poor excuse on every imaginable level.
1. Too lazy to make a phone call?
2. Like we know what you sound like when you AREN'T ill? Not to mention the fact that one can barely recognize their own voice the first time they hear it from a recording because it sounds so DIFFERENT??!? Yet EVERYONE hears us that way; we are the anomaly.

1. Actually, I was planning on recording it on my laptop, 'cos a. the phone call might cost and b. I get to hear it then.
2. I have heard what I sound like. In my juniour school, there used to be plays, and to get out of acting/dancing, I used to be a narrator ('cos everyone was forced to join in) and they used to record them, and sell all the parents videos. (and, it hurts when I talk, not just sounding funny)

Plus, I have tried to do a recording, but I can never think of anything to say, so it generally goes like this "Hi, this is Saffy, and I feel like a complete muppet sat here, talking to myself. .....and now I don't know what to say....so....." and then I delete it 'cos I sound like (you guessed it) a muppet. =P

I just want to say Spanish is a really beautiful language and Kidege you have a really nice voice, though your accent was hard to discern at times. :D

Kidege, that was beautiful. Your voice, and the poem - even though i couldn't understand it... I could understand it because of what you put in to it.

Poetry readings yay!

I can do this! (Maybe :phear:)

Funny, I mentined that poem almost a year ago, there it was the translation.
I think I will follow Kidege steps as well and read something (it beats not knowing what to say :p)

That explains it!

I wondered why I 'knew' it when I can only understand a few words of Spanish.

I remember you posting that now...

Thanks Kidege! Thanks Dissident!

*warm fuzzies*

edit: lor plays it again and improves her listening skills... to realise Kidege actually said it was the poem upon which lor's signature is based... she can be just so slow some days.... :o

...hey but then even without the conscious knowledge I somehow 'recognised' it...

yay for the subconscious!

Glad you guys liked it.
Dissident's translation is absolutely perfect.

Edit: *Kidege dances upon hearing Lor reading the translation*

Last time I had to speak in English was 7 yrs ago. The accent needs a good polishing. :o

Well, my defense mechanism was whispering. I can totally understand being self-conscious.

Wait, does this mean you don't know the song, Lor? It's hyper popular everywhere in the Sp. speaking world. The lyrics include that and other poems from the same book, all with a similar subject, to the point where most people believe the poet wrote the lyrics as they are.

This is Cantares with the young Serrat (the older Serrat's not half as good).

/end thread derailment

Uhmm... I do not get it why people are afraid of their voices. If you can pronounce english normally, there's nothing to be embarassed of. I would like to encourage Dissident and applaud. One thing is when the language is natural, another when you must learn it to use it well.

Wonderful to hear you both Auburn and Ermine.

Ermine, you sound so confident, and Auburn sounds so gentle...

No, Kidege, I don't think I've heard it.

I've not had much access to music these last few years...

Thankyou!

Auburn's voice is cuuute! :D Your accent in Spanish's slightly peninsular, sounds good.

*Kidege pokes Dissident*

(@Lor: The music's kinda corny, but the lyrics are worth it.)

I can play piano for you guys, but when I'm nervous my hands shake so I may mess up some of the notes. :o

That was...weird. What was strangest of all was that was exactly how I imagined Lor's voice except a bit younger. I thought you were nearing your 40s but sounded more like you were in your 20s

Well....I listened to the lot...

i like your voice Lor....it's not too confident, yet not too reserved... it is very obvious ac cent wise, but it still has it's won charm, your very nice to listen to.

I like Wisps too, it was quite calm and very Intp... he was funny too...and he used long words, methinks he was reading from a page.;)

AUburn was much the same, only less confident, and kinda creepy at times..

Jordan, your voice is fine....You have enough of an accent to be recognisnible, and too little so as to make you unique.

and the poetry was awesome...both lors and kidege....why does something automtically become sexy when you know it means something, but don't know quite what?

hrm... and I now know how to pronounce kidege...

oooo... can I have one of those?

With a little lemon juice and garlic?

edit: I just listened.... I can scratch together maybe $1.50.... will that do?

Or just release bits of his body at a time as we get the funds to you...ok?

*wonders what $1.50 worth of Melkor amounts to...*

That had me laughing helplessly... god that hasn't happened in a while... Noddy you are so wondrously deranged :D

Audacity?

I've heard good things about it... I'm still using the phone because I'm too lazy and dumb to set up this computer to work with my headset when I should have a new computer this or next week..

Is he still in working order? A bruise here or there... a scratch or two's ok....

Well ............... it depends on which parts of him you want working. He can walk, or rather, hop, but not very fast and he can use his fingers to count to six. As for other things ........ well I'm pretty sure they didn't work to begin with.

I'm enjoying hearing the voices (that are outside my head that is). I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a sucker for accents.

BTW, I've used audacity for various things before, including the conversion of records to a digital format. Audacity is amazing, especially for FOSS.

So Noddy, does this mean your official back with us again?

(If so, now we just need to get Eudemonia back... =P)

I finally realised who VegPom is!

egad Vegard, I couldn't figure that out... but then the only word I understood was 'Sweden'.

I'm feeling really deficient in listening skills....
