One doesn't.How does one delete their account?
^^^Nobody has had their account deleted, afaik. I don't think it's practiced here.

Send a PM to a mod requesting that your account be deleted, or alternatively, gay-porn-spam the forum or habitually commit some other breech of conduct until same occurs without notice.
You got that right. I requested that I get banned at one point, because I was concerned about forum addiction (no joke). I was told that it just isn't done around here. I presume that I can get banned if only I were to post porno in people's threads, but it hasn't come to that yet.You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.
That's a good idea.Typically accounts aren't deleted from forums due to the holes they leave in threads.
Solutions depend on why you want to be out. for example, if it's because you're posting more than you think you should, the easy solution is to scramble-lock your password so that you can't get back on without contacting a mod.
Not near the top of my list of fears.Yes it's a great idea, unless someone impersonates you.
I may, but not yet. When I have too much on my academic to-do list, then that would be the time. Are you going to leave us? :c
All those who know are not here anymore...Twenty-six views and not a single person knows.
do you have any evidence of how easy this is?You could easily just stop posting at some forum.

Doing something so irreversible and ineffective will only lead to regret.
Easily. Not that anyone will do it.How does one delete their account?
There is no right to anonymity in any law of any country, as far as I'm aware.I know this is the case on many forums, I sometimes wonder if legal issues ever stem from these policies. As I can see how they easily could.

Excluding government spooks, naturally.
Things could happen, say I was in the mafia and posted somewhere, then turned myself in to the FBI and was put in the witness protection program. Then was found and killed through information pieced together through said site. My loved ones would most definitely have legal legs to stand on for "emotional distress" etc. Granted this is quite a long shot and I don't ever really see it happening. I just wonder if sites ever think of that kind of thing in their vigor for "continuity"
