I don’t know how it happened and I feel kind of embarrassed but only just realised other people could think.:o

Ok I didn’t just realise I forgot...

Is this normal? I was on a train then some guy looked at me and I suddenly went hey he can think as in not just subconsciously but some where along the line (pardon the pun) I forgot that people could think consciously. Imagine the realisation that takes place when you think of that after forgetting. I was like OOOHHHHH and then 6 hours later DUUUUH.

Am I just surrounded by idiots and because of that forgot or am I just an idiot.

Back when I used to play "Zelda Ocarina of Time" a lot I once forgot that you can't reload from a savegame in real life, I was drying the dishes and I deliberately dropped one on impulse (nobody was watching) then I just stared at it wondering why I couldn't go back and undo it, suddenly realising everything I did was utterly irreversible was somewhat traumatic.

As for people thinking, I'm actually very aware of that, one of my favourite games is passively stalking people and trying to figure out what they're thinking based upon all the little things the do.

HAHAHAHAHAH like minds then sounds like something I would do but in my case instead of being traumatic I just cracked up laughing.

I am constantly psychoanalyzing people. My family gets pissed at me when I tell them what they are feeling and why. I'm also inside all of your heads too. Be careful what you say bitches.

Yes, games distort our vision of reality so much; they are dangerous. Either we destroy all games or the "save/load' function gets removed.

:D ^ I do that.

Mostly I just imagine little green bars over people's heads getting shorter when they are progressively more tired or hungry. Playing Sims will do that to a person. When I hug somebody it's because I figured they needed a stat boost.

That's your reaction? Really? I did for a while about 6 years ago.

Mostly I just created houses and then I have a serial killer live in them. I had the last one impregnate women and then I'd lock them in a room with no doors so they would die. After a while my character couldn't sleep for all the pregnant women that were haunting his house. After that I got bored.

Ok, more than once...

Actually, just the other day I was wondering why it is so impossible to go back in time.

Reminds me of the time I'd been playing Final Fantasy all week, and when left to my own devices in a field, found myself walking really carefully. somewhat wary of random battles.

It's also happened on this very forum,I scroll down slowly sometimes, thinking that the screen is suddenly going to go 'WHOOOSSHHHHHHH' and jump out at me.

I also had fun with this strategic game. (I dare not call it 'life-simulation'). Searching for the optimum daily lifestyle to achieve whatever fleeting ambition. I remember I didn't learn how to read well yet but the 'personality signs' intrigued me.

'course, when you exhausted the strategy and creativity, it becomes a repetitive 'doll game', which I don't think I'd like.

Ahhh, the OP is ringing all sorts of bells in my head, but I can't seem to recall what...

I think about pressing ctrl+z sometimes when I mess up in real life situations. It's pretty unsettling, actually, realizing that you can't.

When I walk through crowds I increase my speed to pass people, and when they are way behind me I go back to my lane; also, as I assign lanes, I get upset when someone breaks my pattern.

One time I was playing Underground Racing 2 and I was pulling this sick turn when an NPC race car cut me off. I GOT SO MAD. I sped up and reversed multiple times into his headlights and then rammed him from the side a couple of times. Then I came back to myself, I had just experienced road rage. I forgot it was an NPC and I felt really good when the smashing sound effect started.

I have flipped to the beginning of a book to use the search feature to find something in the book. i was very disappointed/frustrated by reality.

something much more fun, was having the low gravity mode from that level in quake, when dreaming. much fun. :D

oh and hello everyone, this is my first post. I've been stalking the forums for just over a month, but finally got up the nerve to sign-up and post

Good one Fukyo :P

I remember when I realised that other people could think...sometime in primary school, methinks. My reaction: "Really? Oh. OHHHHH." I'm glad I haven't forgotten since then. xD

heh. I'm the exact same way.. but sometimes I forget that what I think I know about people are just assumptions and the fact that I think I "know" people is probably just an illusion..

I just realized what this thread reminded me of!

A few weeks ago, while I was driving, I had the exact same revelation (that I momentarily forgot about, also :o): "These people can think?!"

(Though as a consequence, I started driving more recklessly, because I assumed as other people can think, they can take care of themselves better than I can. Or something. I forget.)

Not a good idea. Trust me. You can believe that other people can think, but don't put too much faith in their ability to think well.

Thats funny. Im sure theres a lot of people like you. The spy type. When I think of what someone would see if they stalked me, I think....wow...anyone would think Im crazy. When Im sitting at home alone I really rock out listening to music, I talk to myself, sing, all kinds of funny stuff. I love it too. Maybe I am crazy.

Others cannot think, that is absurd, I am the main character and everyone else are NPCs, you may think you are thinking but that is because the programmer gave you patterns to follow depending on what I did, haha.
