In my mind.
I'm a Naruto fan. It's the total opposite of Itachi in the show and even though his brother is my favorite character, this was just too cute to pass up.

I'm a Megaman enthusiast. Megaman 3 was the first game I ever beat, and my nick name in high school was Cobra. I figured Snakeman pretty much encompasses a lot of stories about me in a tight little sprite gif. I less than three pixels. Plus, he uses a homing weapon, which is tits. I'll post the username story in the appropriate thread.

It suits my name perfectly.

The reason for the name, its actually a name my friend used years ago for a game, and also from Ulysses.

Plus the puns are great.

It's Edmund Dulac's original illustration for Hans Christian Andersens's The Snow Queen. I have used the nick snowqueen for nearly 10 years in various guises on the net - IRC in 1998, blogging etc. When I discovered I was INTP I joined the forum and looked for an avatar to match my name and found the Dulac one, then I re-read the story and found the signature - I thought it summed up INTP really well, and thought it nicely mysterious that I'd been snowqueen for so long without having read that.

Check up on the series. Someone here must know who this is an avatar of. As for why I chose it, I'll leave it up to your imagination. Life isn't fun without puzzles and a bit of mystery.

My avatar is of myself. :)

I photo-shopped it to add a blur and desaturate the colour a bit. I really wanted to make the lips a deep scarlet but I did not have the lipstick at the time I took the picture.

If someone edits my photo, that would be great.

I love the movie, and i feel like Im in an alien world filled with hapless, lost souls. I think most people give up, seek comfort, and stop learning in their youth. The only time they have the energy to make "maps" of the world than can help them through life. As they get older they usually figure out that they royally fucked up.

So they live in hell, while I walk through it.

This avatar is from a photo titled "Alone in the Crowd";
a contradictory title but one I can relate to..

The ocean in front of her represents opportunities, open doors..
A gray and cloudy horizon awaiting her..

Footprints all around her; the paths of those who have walked before her..
Each pair of footprints goes in it's own direction; which path is she to follow..?

Black hair hides her face, and her garments conceal every inch of skin..
One hand placed over her heart protectively..

Alone, directionless, aching; she stands.
Fighting not to collapse..

Mine is a self portrait I did on GIMP. It's mostly bucket-fill, so don't be too impressed, but it does require a lot of work to find a good picture with correct lighting that will actually work for the method I use, and still then you have to do some parts by hand to get bucket-fill to work correctly. And then even after that it usually doesn't work anyways... :slashnew: Let's just say that I'm happy this one worked out!
As for what it means... I think I have captured myself well in this portrait. If someone wants to spend time guessing as to what the expression and coloring represents or says about me, then go ahead. It would be an interesting test of whether or not I have captured what I intended to. :D

I don't remember where I found this comic or who wrote it (sorry for that!), but I really deeply appreciate it. It can be taken multiple ways -- my favorite!

When his brother is killed in a robbery, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge's intentions of driving off the native humanoid "Na'vi" in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na'vi people with the use of an "avatar" identity. While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand - and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandora.

I drew it in photoshop in a couple minutes and was pleased with how quickly and effortlessly it came out, so I made it my avatar.

I like to draw in MS Paint and Photoshop occasionally. I drew the soldier from TF2 in my own little style with a rabbit spy and loved it so much that I put it as my avatar.

There is no story, least none that can be put into words you would understand.

But listen closely to my heartbeat, and maybe it will all become clear.
