it says I'm an INTP but want to be a ENTJ, well, I want to be more outgoing for sure, and I want to be more organized, but I don't want to become judgmental...

Hmm, how interesting... according to this, I'm an INTP looking to be an ISTJ... I must say I disagree with the S... don't really care about the J, and wouldn't mind being a little less introverted. Maybe not full-blown extrovert, but not as much of a recluse.

I love people who are somewhat like me, but are just a little more enthusiastic, happy and outgoing, I wish I was more like that, too. So yes, this is definitely correct.

PS: My percentages in this test are way different here than the percentages in my signature, according to the attraction etc test I am:
Introverted (I) 54.55% Extroverted (E) 45.45%
Intuitive (N) 59.46% Sensing (S) 40.54%
Thinking (T) 58.33% Feeling (F) 41.67%
Perceiving (P) 68.75% Judging (J) 31.25%

I would probably have guessed this(That whole shy vs. not shy and talkative vs. not talkative thing is a real head-scratcher when doing these tests. Also the first time I've ever gotten anything other than INTP). Wouldn't be incredibly opposed to being an INTJ if I had to be another type.

...Yes I would... INTJ's are evil and too serious.

And evil. :D

Completely accurate for me :D
I see introversion and perception as weaknesses that I must overcome in order to be 'better' at life. Of course E&J have their own weaknesses, but I really just want to be more motivated and active.

^ true story.

to get technical about the J element, i'd rather be a P with ridiculously amazing willpower and guts. because then you don't get all that other stuff that comes with being a J...test seems to think it's my ideal for others as well

Yeah I would find it difficult to let go of my P, your solution does sound better. It's not really guts or will power I need (though they would certainly help), but an unquestionable motivator. Anything I do that requires will power, also has something I'm trying to achieve. The problem is not having the will to achieve my goals, but to have a goal worth valuing enough to will myself to do it!

And yes, I do see my potential partners as springboards into self modification. Having a partner with real goals and willpower could possibly influence me into having the same, so it's sort of a selfish attraction.

Interesting. I'm an INTP but this particular test shows me as ISFJ wanting to be ISTJ. In reality, I'm probably INTP wanting to be INTJ with overtones of some S qualities. Why S? As a programmer, I have to integrate what I see with my theoretical logic system models for debugging--it's a strong skill. I do largely the same thing with test equipment when working with electronics. A Fluke DMM can solve a question in seconds that an hour of contemplation can't. heh

do you think J types take things for granted as easily as P?

i mean i can envision an intp achieving some goal, feeling some value about it temporarily, and then once the initial bliss and then self-concept boost wears off it's like everything is back to square 1, regarding perceived value at least. i even felt futile once after having one fail to live up to my expectation of 35 happiness, whatever that meant.

maybe Js just keep doing things and repeating this cycle, so they become more developed at rationalizing the fluctuating perspective in a way. i guess being in action is more the norm, so if they set their bar lower and sat around not doing much the habit would declare it unsatisfying. a P might be invulnerable to that pain of laziness, although i've always wondered about how repeating similar achievements must blunt the feeling of value [not taking into account adrenaline high and metabolically feeling alive]. maybe a J could become that type of nihilist after doing everything in the world, whereas a P would be absolutely wise and dead from the start. i know, i love extremes.

Js and Ps aren't separated by workaholism and laziness.

Hmm. Thats the first time I've gotton INFP in quite a while.

So many questions about the type of people I prefer. Those are hard to answer because most of everyone I actually know right now I am related to, and particularly when it comes to those I care deeply about, such as my kids, the way I prefer to be towards them and the way I prefer them to be (nothing more or less than themselves) is going to be different than other random people out there in the world. But I also find it interesting that it said I am attracted to INTP because when I answered the questions thinking about people I know who I am not related to but really like a lot (as in the couple of friends I am close with at this point) those people are all actually definite extroverts, no question.

haha gtfo filthy feeler!

But in all seriousness, I have scored as high as 97% INFP at online tests (compared to 92% INTP) and I wouldn't doubt my INTP for a second. These tests are approximations, and the questions often leave a lot to interpretation in the scales. If I had the emotional capacity to be an INFP I might reconsider my personality, but I don't act on emotion at all, and although I find INFPs sort of adorable in their own way, the differences in the way we think are huge.

Yeah, looking at the cognitive function hierarchies for both, it seems a lot more likely for me to be INTP than INFP. I think I just answer the questions in a way that gets me a low T vs. F result a lot of times. Even there it was basically 50/50.

Also how did you guys get the spoiler button to display your scores in that fashion? I can quote your post and edit it to my liking but is there and easier way to do it?

If you're in the quick reply thing, first quick "Go Advanced" to get to the full thing. Then "Insert a spoiler" is on the bottom right of the three rows, right under the smileys and the right indent button.

That probably has to do with a past experience of some kind. I know it sounds like some kind of freudian B.S. but give it a thought.

Sorry i should have been more clear, what i meant to say was how did they get all of the information into the format that appears in the spoiler section of their posts. There was some code on the website that didnt work and looked nothing like the code that is under the spoiler tags. So my question is did they write the code themselves or did they find it on the website somehow?

Im pretty happy with INTP. but I feel compelled to contribute to the world. I mean there are, depending on the site only 2.5% or less of the population. and we are special people. I'm probably just fantasizing. guess we will see in a couple days.

You just copy the actual text you're viewing on the site and paste it to your reply. The text formatting stays the same, unless you click the button on the top right corner of the reply panel.
