Like.. in a death ray?

Yes, look at these people – amazing how sheep’ll show up for the slaughter! No one condemning you – lined up like lemmings you led to the water.

Why can’t they see what I see? Why can’t they hear the lies?

Maybe the fee’s too pricey for them to realize. Your disguise is slipping. (I think you’re slipping)

Now I have everything.

Are warnings sent via pm or clear ways (mention / wall), or should we pick up on them...? It usually takes at least two to argue, and i've argued with intpz more than once, after all.

But sometimes, mods strike without warning, like lightning. :phear:

@DeadonDreaming

Do you feel terrorized? Beleaguered perhaps? :kilroy:

Not really. I probably should though, I'm sure there is some secret agency out there trying to get me. The Sea Org? The CIA? The Home Shopping Network? The list of people who want me dead is within epsilon of a third world dictator, or Justin Bieber.

I don't think anyone is getting permanently banned, unless someone goes off the deep end and starts insulting members in every thread. Things have calmed down considerably since INTPz left, and there aren't as many arguments, except random outbursts of disagreement over word choice or someone's conclusions about a subject.

Okay, peeps, the more of us we split the $10 (or $20 to cover Kuu's bet) between, the less it will cost each of us.

I'm in if everyone else is.

Nothing, but if everyone bets on one person, nobody wins. Somebody has to lose money.

Well, you don't win any money. But you do get a unanimous decision to remove the target. EVERYONE WINS!

Couldn't you name someone else??? :phear:

I named a person among the least likely to get banned. The potential return of banning someone else as a result of the bet will almost guarantee you a long stay on the forum.

... well... that goes without saying.

Although we are allowing them to have an excuse not to waste so much time online!

Can't say I'm surprised or even remotely upset by the latest additions to bandom. Good riddance.

I am always upset by bannings.

I guess I feel a little sad for them if that's what you mean?

Other than that they made my experience slightly less convenient by having to skip over their inane posts, and I received no positives from their presence here.

I think it's nice of me to show compassion for the damned.
Well. There are quite the number of people who are online almost 24/7. The forum is their life. So the investment is high, and the loss will be equal.

I also don't have issues, other then that I am not convinced such measures are necessary. But I am not one of those who is addicted to the forums, and much I miss. So not going to presume I know what is best. I am otherwise generally satisfied with the moderation on here. One get warnings, and also post-explanation. I would have liked if the banned got read access. So that the loss for them is less, because there is a loss if the posting privileges are revoked. And I would also like that the word banning was expunged. Not a fan of the word.

Crippli, that's an archetypical INTP analysis/essay. :) The moderators probably identify with all of that, none of us likes this.
I have two thoughts: First, it is especially rude for INTP members of an INTP forum to force INTP moderators to act in non-INTP ways. Just to put this into perspective.

Second: When I had to moderate a newspaper forum I didn't much like it, either. What even made it possible for me to act was to recast the rules as almost principles, and put them ahead of my personal disinclination to render judgments about posters. The principles in play on that forum were different than here. One important one here: Don't foul your own nest. This forum is to some extent not just a diversion, but a refuge for the times when it's great to have people who actually can understand what I'm saying without explaining to me how I'm abnormal, weird, broken or aloof. Why would an INTP come in here and project such an astonishing amount of ego, by posting self-indulgent trivia and whatnot, that it disrupts the community and lessens the value of the conversations we have? And why should we allow forum functionality to be disrupted by someone who has that much disregard for our community?

The one thing I'm sure of is that moderators in this forum, the current ones and the past ones, are not and have not abused authority. The fact that they feel compelled to analyze and explain on the forum what they thought they had to do in various cases is proof.

He had like 46 posts or something actually would like to know why he was banned tbh as I hardly noticed him. (probably a second troll account from a previously banned member?)

I thought it would have been banned earlier actually, it seemed obviously a joke account.

p....child. i researched his youtube account and he was seriously himself. i actually learned some weird version of respect for him, after seeing two or three of his videos. people like this exist. they are also not a good match for this place. there is irrational conduct and then there is pre-rational conduct... serious or not, it's a bit too far out. i'm not saying he should have been "banned", but it looks like a reasonable "break up between two unlikely lovebirds".

Psychic Child wasn't banned by me, what I can say is that it's because hir came from a trolling site and hir's posting history was sort of indicative of that.

This thread is about intpz, not other banned members, so I'll close it because the current conversation has been out of context for a while now.
