Sherlock is clearly an INTJ, noobs.
It even shows him getting overwhelmed by the Se of that restaurant. Not to mention they show him go into Ni, and then plan out his attacks with Te. They totally spell out his personality type for you.
Aren't Js supposed to keep some order ?
(I'm thinking of the total mess in Sherlock's Living quarters.)
Sherlock Holmes, according to the books, kept his tobacco in a slipper and documents nailed to the wall by a knife, piled documents all over the floor and seemingly had absolutely no structured way of keeping information. In Watson's eyes he seemed to dive into random piles of paper only to produce the exact paper they needed (which reminds me of how I organize). This somehow seems unfitting for INTJs. please correct me.
His room in the movie is a complete mess, objects all over, sleeping on the floor, a bathrobe, in tatters. Teapot left hanging over the fire and sketches for ideas left floating.
The overwhelming of senses in the restaurant may well stem from withdrawal as he did have a drug problem (cocaine, and periodically morphine. In the movie also he seemed to take extract of belladonna, originally used for eye surgery, which has the tendency to disorient the senses for a while after, making them extremely uncomfortable)
All in all I find the character likable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
Not at all far from the original, though somewhat different than what we usually imagine or portray. (Keep in mind that the original Holmes was described as very eccentric and "bohemian" with drug habits and zero interest in people)
