Haiku = 5,7,5

Let the stillness quiet the heart-pitter patter (12)
Beneath the droning heart beat (7)
Open the gates, let your headphone sync (9)

Stillness quiets heart (5)
Beneath the droning heart beat (7)
gates wide, headphones sync (5)

Opeth song: i'll give it 4/10, not my genre really, tons of skills and weird rythmns.
I enjoyed that instrument in the background when it gets harder, cool congas too.
But overall it lacks soul. Also 11 minutes long? why? short things are better.

Loved it. Middle eastern meets Indian. Sense of the divine:) 8/10 got repetitious in the end. Beautiful voice. A bit spine tingling.
This song, the beauty is in the simplicity. Imagine yourself in a smokey Parisian bar.

If I discount the fact that it reminds me of Jar Jar Binks, 8.8/10. Always liked Star Wars soundtracks. Distinctive, skilful composition and pleasantly atmospheric.

I never really liked tool, they are ok, the sound of these things is gorgeous, they really add atmosphere to the naruto soundtrack. Here i give them and not the song 6.5/10.

While i normally don't listen that much to this kind of music, Alejandro Sanz has got some really nasty pieces, just take a look at those trumpets near the end

It's good but it's like I've already heard it a bunch of times on other JRPG soundtracks and on Ghibli films. I liked the intermezzos.

lol@ 2:45 were they play the final fantasy melody line but deviate from it after a couple of notes, sneaky basterds.

5/10, it can't stand on it's own legs though it's probably great in its original context.

I was enjoying the song until it went all country and western. I'm not a fan of that dum-diddy-dum drum-beat, or the moaning singing style, but each to their own.

The horn section was cool though. 6.5/10

4/10 Pop song and pop sounding main voice coming from what I was hoping would be something different. Sounds like most top 40s songs just in an Asian language. Not much compelling here but they did have some nice harmonies.

Funky and groove-a-licious. The song has enough change-ups to keep you going. Made my hips move. 7.5

This is old as fuck but...poetry (goes really well with a belly full of wine).

The intro was intriguing. I got deep when the instrumental started, but then the song quickly changed. I listened through the rest, and thought the tremolo effect in the chorus added a neat punch to the song. 5/5. Not bad.

Very good post. I liked it the first time, and came back to listen to it again later in the day. The second time, I comprehended more of it, and really drove it home. He played the piece right from the heart, and the energy translated out nicely. 9.2/10

I guess I'll post an INFP-ish guilty pleasure. :phear:

Well, the title is a lot like my motto on life. Let's give it a listen.
My body starts bobbin' to the beat.

...Stop that. Get a grip on yourself man.

A minute and a half later, I'm up swingin' and kicking. Nobody had to see that.

7/10

A few years ago, I stumbled on Bjorn Lynne's music for inspiration in making songs for video games. I like his stuff, and bought a couple albums from his site. Youtube doesn't have a very big selection of his songs though, but I found a very popular one from one of his fantasy-genre tracks. He makes synth electronic, ambience, fantasy, and irish folk songs which very effectively take my imagination to magical places.
