If I believed in god, I would swear to him now, that I had no interest in breast feeding. [initially]

Thanks google auto-suggest for that.

What initially started out as a search for...

"marijuana and..."

Well it doesn't quite matter what I was looking for, not like I remember anyways, because when google auto suggested:

"marijuana and... Breast feeding"

Curiosity definitely banned the catz and I had no other choice than to click

I think the issue is FAR from settled

"For ethical reasons, very little research has been done on the effects of marijuana on a breastfeeding baby."

http://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-safe-for-breastfeeding-moms-to-smoke-marijuana_3131.bc

What is very funny is that, with all this legalization crap-- the thing that people actually care about is weed and breast feeding; I assume breast feeding is the most common term associated with the phrase "marijuana and"

This suggests that everyone and their (pregnant) mom is smoking weed already.

Man, I wonder how much a gallon of breast milk laced with THC would go for; only Kobe-style mothers smoking organic weed would be acceptable for milking purposes. Add some lucky charms and such a delectable sounding breakfast. Wash it down with some bloody Mary made with period juice. Yes, I meant that.

If a mother weights 100kilo and smokes one gram of pure THC and a baby drinks 100ml of milk, it would recieve a whooping 0,001 grams of THC.

Bring the nukes.

I'll use the Google autocomplete to see what people are searching for, using a seed word. "How to ..." is usually quite droll and exposes the sometimes inanity of life. "How to get pregnant", "How to have your first kiss", "How to use a condom", etc.

Maybe babies would stop crying at the movies so much
That alone would be worth it

But seriously, breast feeding mothers should not smoke
It's a waste of weed; they should just blow the smoke into the baby's face

We already feed our kids cardboard and hormones (a.k.a. Cereal and milk) plus a bunch of cancerous preservatives.... I think the whole weed/breast feeding issue is not that big of a deal.

Of course not, but you may be forgetting what kind of board this is. You can't just state something without motivating it. :-]

"How do I..." also gives us some gems, such as "How do I get my sister to sleep with me?".

Babies are already lazy enough. Weed would cause them to become so lazy they stop breathing.

"how do i know when i'm ovulating"

That is a question I always ask myself. I'm awaiting the day it happens.

Makes sense, based on what I got. I've always wanted to carry eggs instead of sperm. I figure when I get hungry I can eat them, that is how it works, yes?

That's silly. Given that breast milk even absorbs THC, the amounts would be so incredibly small that it wouldn't matter whatsoever.

However, a mother that breastfeeds shouldn't smoke cannabis, because that would be irresponsible.

What if the baby has teeth and bites her nipple so hard that weed is the only way that she can deal with the pain? Would this be a valid exemption?

Assume that religious views disallow bottle feeding

There is no "assuming" or "supposing" when it comes to whether babies bite nipples.

They do, and it is excruciating, even before they have teeth they will often clamp down so very painfully hard.

With the younger babies (young enough usually not have cut their teeth yet) they often bite /clampdown as they are drifting off to sleep. A particular problem as detaching them will often wake them, and then mama is stuck sitting there, exhausted, raw, in searing pain and with a child that insists on suckling for another twenty minutes before she may be relieved.

With the older children, babies with teeth, who are beginning to become self aware the biting is often a calculated little experiment on the part of the child. Even babies as young as six or seven month conduct these experiment. You can tell they know what they are doing because they look you deeply in the eyes before doing it, get a little curious expression and then CHOMP!

If the child is heading out of infant hood and entering toddler hood (over a year) they are aware that they should not bite mama and that it causes her pain and will do it when they are feeling defiant or begrudged over something from earlier, as an attempt to be in charge.

None of this has anything to do with marijuana, but the last comment made me think it might be of interest to throw it out there.

(I have nursed four children for various lengths of time)

That is not hot. It makes it seem pointless to breast feed if you're going to get bit all the time. Just use a bottle, babies sound too irresponsible.

I'm not a big fan of babies, as you can tell. I'm glad we repress them as a group; they can't drink alcohol, drive, or vote. I think we should also take away their right to have independent thoughts from their parents, but the political power of babies is too large in this country for me to push through my plans.

I probably would have but now you've made it awkward.

NijaSufer spoiled it, I shall never speak of my breasts on INTPf again.

Mother's milk has significant benefits to the newborn, including early disease immunity.

Breastfeeding while using any drugs that can be secreted in milk is generally not recommended unless the effects on a newborn are known.
