It appears I did, Sorry if it offended you in any way, but I like the way it looks . Makes a post stand out more. And basically implies, Post your Nick name. And GTFO.

And to stay on topic.

My second nick name is.... MuhmuhMattMatt :')

Because there's a guy in my class with the same first name as me, they call me by my surname. Sometimes they mispronounce it so it means "the onion" instead of "old, archaic word for enclosed farm area".

I've had so many nicknames, frankly it's ridiculous. Though not all of them were lifelong they were used often in their respective heydays.

Let's see if I can remember them all; Marylou, Tatertot, Mumbles/Mumblefuck, Kaedri, Scarianne :twisteddevil:, Care bear :o, Midget, and Ariel(which was so widely used people thought it was my real name and that's despite my best efforts to correct them). In certain places I was often addressed as Güerita/Guera/Gringa.

What went through my mind when I saw this:
first picture... minty ...
second picture... erm ... vectors?

Minty Vectors :storks:

You're not the only one. :o

I don't have nicknames except for when I was an infant. I think Carpet Slug says more about my father than it does about me. :rip:

Bin is the longest-lasting of my nicknames.
There is also Fishthing, Fin, Fin-Fin, Dratted Bird, Binston, and, at one point, Giggles.

"Boss."

It's extroverted devaluation, not a symbolical affirmation of authority.

I guess mine would be Skully. Too many X-Files references..

Is your username the long version of DMT? It seems very...applicable.

Most people have called me Nikki since I was in kindergarten, it is actually nothing like my first name but became my nickname when 3 people in a row misheard what my supposed nickname (that my parents were trying to tag me with) was. Since then I have been called a variety of things such as: Nikstar, Nikkers, Neek, Nik-nak, and Fish.
My teachers always got weirded out because just when they thought they knew who I was they heard everyone calling me these names that don't even start with the same letter as my real name XD

I'm not sure I understand, but this nickname does come with lightheartedness that represents familiarity. My sister calls her friends "ugly" and I remember being referred to as "idiot" in a classroom setting by friends. It was all very light. Perhaps this is what you mean by affection?

Or maybe all "nicknames" are lighthearted.

I don't know that all nicknames are light-hearted. I think many are made just because people can't be bothered saying the whole three syllables of their first name.
However, I knew a guy once that I called "idiot" as well. I had just meant it as a light hearted jest after noticing that he had a tendency to over think things to the point where one light heart comment would send him into a nose dive for a psychology text book. Sadly I don't think he ever understood why I called him that and I never bothered to explain it too him.

A while ago it used to be Hunchy (an account of my slouching)

Now it's usually just people pronouncing my name as if it were misspelled.
