Since you made a poll, might as well include a test in the OP. This is a good one, but this one includes instinct variant.

Judging by the strong correlation and theoretical similarity of the two, I think INTPs are necessarily 5's, else not INTP. I'm 5w6, which is not so interesting. But I'm a Social variant, which is interesting...I think.

There are certain things I favor about them, though Enneagram is probably the least problematic.

I think a Jungian related typology theory should maintain the integrity of its Jungian foundation, otherwise developers should produce original source material on which to base hypotheses. I also think a typology theory should have more of a focus on research & substantiation of human psychology rather than the popularity, marketability, or self-indulgence of the theory.

Sounds about right I guess. These descriptions feel a bit presumptuous though. I can identify with probably 5 or 6 different types to a certain extent. Maybe a quarter of each of them, while the rest seems inaccurate.

Reminds me of astrology/tarot (aka rubbish) more than anything.

Enneagram is intended to be fluid, with types falling on continuous scales, so it's not about which is the one and only type for you, but which one is most dominant/habitual. Kinda similar to the psychological functions before they were systematized.

It's also split between head, heart, and gut so you're expected to identify with/express more than one.

I get that, but there isn't a type that even comes close to describing my personality and the parts that do are just general statements that could apply to almost anyone.

Maybe in the future with more work it'll become more specific, but at the moment it seems way too general to be able to draw any conclusions off of. Could just be my personality and the way the questions are worded though, I won't rule out that others might find it to be accurate and insightful.

I score 9 as my top, with balanced wings. I also score 5 and 7 fairly high. Seven is completely not me at all, but I can relate somewhat to 5. I guess while I am at heart an angry nerd, I have no problem letting other people be wrong (unless they insist that I am )
