I'm not trying to discriminate, just calling it like it is(at least how I perceive it)

I can't stand most of them, I perceive many of my (and a lot of society's) problems to be generated by the SJ dominance in society

no one personality type should gain too much prevalence

anyone feel the same? different? indifferent?

on a side note, yes I'm INTP and I suspect I have mild asperger's, makes for a very crappy combo in American society, all anyone cares about is "get it done" nobody thinks for themselves cuz they are all SJ's they have to do what the group does. nobody cares if its good or bad, useful or useless

I believe we've had some threads stating that SJ types are the INTP's most hated.

Personally, I understand that they're needed in society and respect them for doing what needs to be done, however their controlling nature clashes with my preferred way of being.

Welcome Invoke!

We've had a variety of INTPs suspect they have mild aspergers. I don't think any of us actually do- I've met a girl with aspergers, it is WAY more bizarre than INTPs are.

Some people would say that it's wrong to hate certain types. But I'm all with you! SJs are terrible. Sponges that turn into rocks. Granted, at least they do work well. SPs are not great for that, although they are fantastic to have fun with.

I dunno. Hard to say what's best. The generally the SJs do help keep society together and running like it should...

I do see the necessity of the SJ types but I know an imbalance when I see one, especially when you get the short end of the stick so to speak

SJs are societies minions. You need a lot more minions then you need masterminds.

You just gotta learn how to turn an SJ from an annoyance into....for lack of a better term....your bitch:evil:

My sister is ISTJ and is very controlling. She wants to control my mom and to a lesser extent, me. If we step outside of what she perceives to be correct behavior and loyalty, she gets mad at us for weeks.

She just had a kid.

We had all been a little bad and gossipy (good god, we're a family of women and no men, it is hell) and she got wind that I had told my mom some of the stuff she said about her. I'm in town visiting and since I pissed her off, I'm not even aloud to see her on my visit.

I only visit once a year.

I know you are a comedian of sorts lol

I was just making a generalization I say nobody but I mean no one in the US, possibly other parts of the world, it gets kind of annoying having to specify every little thing, it gets so tedious and I'm lazy

I don't know, my husband is an SJ and we've been very happy for 24 years. His strengths and weaknesses compliment mine- we make a good team.

On the one hand, I hate them. A lot, but my limited experiences with them-though mostly unpleasant-behavioral patterns and actions fluctuate within certain types to where they could see like an SJ or and SJ like another type. Not so often happening in types like INFJ and ENTJ. So, it is hard to put a marker on a solid opinion for them. I have a friend that is ISFJ after all.

I know what you meant, but every time I see someone say that I've got to make a joke out of it. :elephant:

You know the annoyance works both ways and in a way its easier for INTPs I think. We get kind of used to it, SJs are poorly equipped to deal with it. For most of them its inconceivable that you don't agree with them. With a bit of finesse you can annoy them in an almost infinite creative and delightful ways.

I wouldn't recommend doing it to an SJ boss, but torturing SJ coworkers can be a great way to pass a boring day.

This thread made me realize something, and feeling creative, so instead of using sentences, I made a motivational picture to show what i want to say

My father is ESTJ and most of my family are SJs. There's nothing quite like growing up with someone who never understands you and insists on controlling you and criticizing your differences because of it. It was hell. The saving grace for my sanity was, sadly enough, the divorce of my parents, so I didn't have to deal with him every day.

The day I finally snapped, got into a rather heated argument with him and somehow won was the day he backed off of me. It is a rare achievement for a non-SJ, much less an INTP to beat my father in shouting match. :P

Needless to say I have a poor opinion of SJs.

I have to concur with this. As an ENTP(ANTP?) with a decent Ne<>Fe connection, there's nothing like slipping a few wrenches in an SJ (or for that matter TJ's) ever so carefully laid out plans. :D

Welcome. It's nice to finally have new members here. :)

Every subtype has its flaws. Just as SJs can be criticized for being too in-lockstep with society, NTs can be criticized for being callous and heartless (I'd disagree, but I imagine most SJs would disagree too, you know, unless there was an appeal to authority that said it was true :p)

I think that SJs, particularly SFJs, can be very caring and loyal people, who can be great as friends, and maybe more. It's their loyalty to ideas that can frustrate us, but their loyalty to people is admirable, and I sometimes envy that.

I wouldn't say the problems in society are the result of SJ types; I would say that society is the result of SJ types. Without them there are just individuals acting with independent thought and mind. I'm not sure what good society is other than for having a structured system by which things operate. Like... I want to date this girl, but what do I do? Well you take her on a date, which has certain societal things surrounding it, and is promulgated by SJ types.

true, I just have the need to rant, and being that I don't conform very well to the typical SJ standard makes life difficult for me so I just wanna fight back somehow, it seems like if you can't exhibit SJ traits you can't get a job unless you have some sort of advanced degree in something which I do not have yet or you are good friends with management somewhere, I dunno, maybe I just need some sort of behavior modification, I have trouble getting to work on time cuz I get stuck in this stupid anxiety/depression cycle where I just don't care, I never care but at least when I'm anxiety/depression free I get to work on time easier, getting paid more than $150/week helps too....gosh its been years since I've made more than $200/week
