What is the best way to teach people of the various different types?
This question can either be answered by analysing: the 16 separate types as wholes; the differences in the 4 dichotomies; or by the cognitive function (and polarization) preferences. (Which is the best way?)
Oh. I'm not exactly sure what you experienced here recently, but I'm sorry to hear about it regardless. I hope your absence is constructive, and your return shall be welcomed.
Best wishes.
Yeah, could someone clarify this? Does the question mean "best" as in best compared to all other (known?) humans, or does it mean personal best out of all the things one can do?
I prioritize the welfare of human beings infinitely above the welfare of animals. The following is a technical explanation of what that means:
In any situation, determine the moral soundness of it via the following steps:
- Regarding only Humans' welfare: judge if good or bad using other...
But morality is subjective, so so what? You haven't presented an argument to justify why killing animals is a bad thing (were you implying that it is a given?).
Or are you suggesting that having to kill other animals is a weakness or something?
(Will we merge this thread with the other...
Ahh; well you had some double and irregular half types in your name, plus you mentioned two full types in your Biography. It seemed to me as if you might have been giving clues to a puzzle.
Also, by the way, when responding to another's profile message, one ought to respond either on the other...
Should you tell non-INTPs to not vote?
Because otherwise, your survey will be investigating "the relationship between people's sibling position and their likelihood of registering at an INTP forum".
If your user-name (and Biography) is a riddle, I think the answer (and hence your type?) is: "INTP".
However, if it's just the user name alone (and a less complicated riddle than I thought it to be), my answer would have been "INFJ".
Nope; I feel that there is no need to "dumb myself down". The most intelligent humans (not that I am necessarily one) aren't really that more intelligent than the average ones (i.e: the intelligence deviation for humans is rather small, universally). Humans are intelligent creatures.
Any human...
Hey, other game genres can have rich lore too! But yeah, I get what you are talking about.
Dune, hmm? I've played a bit of one of its games when my friend lent it to me.
Some dude on a forums asked me if I read Dune, or he recommended it to me or something based on some philosophy...
OMG, you read?
Hey, there was a reason why I got into video game projects! Video games are my favourite medium of fiction.
Speaking of which, my friend lent me like 2 StarCraft and 2 Mass Effect novels which I still have to read; I said I'd read them like a year ago or so...
The thing...
Wait, so out of all your siblings, you are the only one to not be an Irish citizen? Oh, btw, I have a dual citizenship between Ireland and Canada! I was born in Canada and lived there for half my life, but my mom is Irish.
I've never really been into cars (and I find car video games boring...
Are your parents and family living in Ireland Irish citizens? Did they leave you in the USA because you are an American citizen, or did they leave you there so you can get a job to get money for college?
And you have a car too? You can drive?
Yeah, I've been hiding from the real world. I'll...
Did you want to go to a private college, are you referring to the registration fees, or are you not an Irish citizen? I know fees may be reintroduced, but they will probably be so in a no interest, "no income - no pay", lone scheme.
Well done for your high points by the way; I only got 375...
OMG this is kinda freaky; as I clicked my INTP Forum bookmark I said to myself: "when is SageWolf coming back?"
So are you still in America or Ireland now or what?
Yeah, being an INTP truly means (if the MBTI theory is correct) that the order of one's cognitive functions are: "Introverted Thinking"; "Extroverted iNtuiting"; "Introverted Sensing"; and then "Extroverted Feeling".
If the order of one's functions are the above, then there is a good...
To sum it up, basically:
"If we considered factors in the individuals life, such as parents, experiences good and traumatic, and then choose what we felt was a good moral status, (lets say in this case one that is beneficial to others), could we not develop a logical, quantitative means of...
Since "goodness" is subjective (I cannot answer your questions on what determines what is good; it's all relative), no particular stance on what is good is a universal truth, and thus, objectively, one may soundly possess the philosophy that "all moralities are equal in validity". Your...
Regardless, the "goodness" of morals is not affected by how they were acquired. If you want to pat people on the back for ending up with morals that were unlikely for them to end up with, go ahead, but my philosophy would be that such an additional praise is trumped by any magnitude of the...
What you are getting at is similar in essence to the concept of achievement by the method of a task. For example, no one would care if an individual crossed the Pacific Ocean in a motor boat, but if they did the same thing but sailed in a raft instead, then the task's completion may receive awe...
Seconded.
I will state though that "ultimate* forgiveness" is the same thing as "ultimate* tolerance", in practice.
(*= "unconditional, instant and unlimited")
Basically, you will have to judge for yourself which principles you have are worth more than others (when applied in a realistic way to the world), and to what degree, and you will have to compose or conform to a system of government (be it anarchism or otherwise) which supports your judgement.
As I stated before, I'm not attempting to challenge your ideals, but you might have conflicting ideals there. In order for true anarchism to exist, certain people are going to be left vulnerable. There would also be no system to stop "crimes" (individuals would have to defend themselves and...
You might be right there, but I am even referring to "poor people" and such in developed countries. A lot of people are able to live relatively dignified lives due to social welfare systems in developed countries. With anarchy, what happens for them...?
Oh sorry, I only got your latest 2 messages after I sent mine. Yeah, your lack of emphasis on questions must have made the differences in our libertarian values.
No, those things aren't right wing (for the political compass), those things are authoritarian.
You are an anarchist, yet I somehow got a higher libertarian value than you did, and I'm trying to think of why (maybe you just didn't emphasise enough things?).
Anyway, ok yeah, you are a...
When I took the test like a year ago I got:
Economic Left/Right: -6.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.92
When I took it like a month or so ago I got:
Economic Left/Right: -5.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.67
Hmm; I am apparently more libertarian than you are. Do you have any...
Well you beat my Junior Cert equivalent anyway. I got an A, either 4 or 5 Bs, one D and the rest Cs.
The funny thing is that you'll probably get a job when you are older while I wont lol. :P
I define "smartness" as the combination of intelligence and creativity (where "intelligence" is the faculty of understanding, and "creativity" is the originality and fluency of mental composition). I don't believe that one can judge another's level of smartness by the university course they get...
Your parents didn't let you go back to school? Regardless, you don't know, you could have done well.
I did kind of meh overall in my results to be honest. I got into my course because surprisingly the demand for it went down in my particular year.
Physics with Astronomy wasn't my first...
