Likely it will go away and then you'll disappear then some day you'll just show up again. I think INTP tend to work is such waves of passion. If you want to call it that.
That sounds likely. I'll probably go back to learning C# with all my spare time while popping in periodically to see what's up, then suddenly a month or two later I'll spontaneously devote another straight week to the forum.
but yes, all the interesting stuff can lead to procrastination/zero or little external productivity (despite the high internal/cognitive productivity), totally not wasted time tho
I'm pretty sure it's not wasted time. I remember a period on Google+ where I participated in a sort of project/discussion group that we all thought would lead to something great (sustainability, societal shifts, etc...) but it just faded away. Was an interesting learning experience though and some of the principals I gathered have stuck with me. I wonder if I'll ever get back in touch with those guys...
These are important questions. Think of the collective! Philosophy is important. This time is not wasted.
Again, I don't recall saying I wasted time. I'm an INT? and know the value of this sort of thing. It's just... I could have finished another chapter or two of my latest text book... Or maybe done something else productive. I guess I'm concerned with the greater philosophical implications of us ... eh, call us "enlightened" folks spending all our time in our heads and getting very little done. Who's gonna care in the end?
These are the dangers of giving in to the collective. I'm not sure it's dangers of intellectualism.
Intellectuals, especially INTP's, tend to get very little done despite their self-diagnosed brilliance. It's about balancing the internal realm with real-world achievement. The collective is a confusing term i this context. Are we now a collective? If so, let's mutually achieve something great.
