    How about talk about weather

Brain fart. I actually thought about making such mistake afterwards, so perhaps I was aware of it unconsciously. I just thought about it, I of course knew that I would never make such mistake.....

    Why we have personality types

It's clearly a result of evolution. As a social animal it can only be an advantage to have different personalities performing different task. And yes, you do have different personalities in other animals too. My parents have two French Bulldogs, one is a quiet reserved type that only gets to the...

    Hiya

Yep that can be a motivation in itself. I had a cheap home studio I had to sell when moving country, now I just have my phone to record into which is sort of demotivating when it comes to finishing ideas. I see you just created a Music Thread, I will post in there if I have any further questions.

    Psychology of the beautiful gyal.

Gender role discussion - it's doesn't get any more 2014. That's all people talk about in my country - food and gender roles. Usually starts off with a man whining on a blog who subsequently gets verbally raped by women. It's a reoccurring trend.

Agreed. There are the same stereotypical notions for what men want.

    Psychology of the beautiful gyal.

Sure, those traits come in many flavors, hence why I wrote "traditional alpha male". The flavors in which the common traits come, get proportionally more complex with the level of education and intelligence in humans - and yes you can end the conversation by reducing it to horny monkeys if you...

    Psychology of the beautiful gyal.

Are you really concerned of just interested? The less educated and poor a country is, the more likely the women are to find the traditional alpha male attractive. You see the same trend in the different social classes in every country. It's no mystery really. Being attractive to the opposite...

    differences between intp and intj

Perhaps because the popular MBTI descriptions are licking NTs asses. Many people who test as NT use it as some sort of social proof and thus feel obligated to share their ingenious wisdom. Here is a brilliant example (look how he almost gets off by reading the ENTP "traits")...

Emotional Response To Emotions Of Others

No, I gave you more credit than that. I get where you're coming from, I've been there many times. I do not by any means consider myself an expert on feelings, but one thing I've learned is that people don't always want someone to rationalize their emotions or devalue them. If that was the...

Emotional Response To Emotions Of Others

Absolutely, this is the reason I sometimes get uncomfortable just watching Claire Danes in Homeland or Debra Morgan in Dexter. Especially when they desperately cry, I honestly can't stand it. I know it sounds horrible.

What is the Meaning of Life?

Interesting, I think I agree though it was not the definition of desperate I was hinting at. My thought was that we are all desperate in some sense for love and acknowledgement in various degrees. So what you will tend to find is that the most successful people, which in the eyes of the masses...

What is the Meaning of Life?

A public service channel in my country recently ran a program series with this title. Guilt

I think when I have this feeling of guilt, it's closely related to embarrassment. As you mention, though I on some rational level understand that this moment of guilt will quickly pass, as it always does, it still always feels unique in the moment. As in, this moment is really extra-ordinary and...

Re: could homosexuality be an adaption of an overpopulated world? Japan is an interesting example. They're barely having any kids anymore. This is not due to homosexuality but due to education and the fact that they prefer having intimate relationships with their modern tamagotchis.

Does charity accomplish what it means to?

Agreed. It just seems too convenient as a privileged Western to simply disregard all charities on the basis of a few bad cases. Not only do you get to keep your own money but you also get to feel good about yourself - again, how convenient. It's the Will To Power, people who give to charity...

    Is suicide selfish?

Yep. It depends entirely on the circumstances. Suicide can be incredibly selfish in some cases and perfectly rational in others. Just think of two black and white situations, it's not that difficult. Now what makes a suicide rational or irrational in grey situations is a difficult topic.

    Regret

Using nihilism to suppress negative emotions only works for a while until you're desensitized. After that, you will need some novelty as in a new thinking pattern. It's just like listening to a good song. I haven't had nihilistic thoughts in a while so I actually reacted positively to the OP.

Free, automated food production for everyone.

No in fact it turned out a lot better than what most people expected. Also, nobody expected poverty would end by 1979 - where did you get that idea from? There was an oil crisis in both 73 and 78. In fact the goal of halving world poverty has already been reached five years earlier than...

I just watched an episode of Big Bang theory

Haven't watched in a while but when I did, I thought it was really great for a sitcom. I think Sheldon is a brilliant character and I love how they take his lack of social/emotional intelligence to the extreme. Now that it is very popular, however, it is naturally becoming cool to bash the show...
