It was a nick-name given to me at a place I used to work at. They didn't call me it to my face, mind you, but I had big ears and heard everything they said.

I kinda like it.

Because I have synesthesia, and I see/feel colors when I hear music and when I do math.Moreso with music though.

It's one of my great pleasure in life, and very useful for intense daydreaming.

Well, I have a doctorate in mechanical engineering and I have, on occasion, been known to wear a top hat. Doctorin is essentially a PhD female and Zylinder is top hat. Both in German.

The name 'Sinny' was designated when I was about 14.

'Sin' is a shortened verion of Sinead, and my friends frequently expect me to respond to almost any name beginning with 'S'. You'd be amazed how many people *cant be bothered* to use my actual name lol.

Apparently I was quite 'Sinful' in my younger days.
Can't argue with them there, so here I am as SINny today.

I can't be foun on numerous web platforms unde the name.
I couldn't remember all my logins if they weren't they same.
I presume GHCQ already know who I am, even if attempted to avoid the trail.

I've been using Otakupunk as a moniker for a while: basically, I'm an otaku (though not as hardcore as in my younger days), and I like punk rock. :P AL are the initials of my full name. I kind of wish now that I hadn't put them there, but too late now.

I wanted a name that would describe my basic nature. Originally I thought about using "Inquirer," but that seemed too flat/passive. When I want to understand something, there's a burning intensity there. I really become obsessive. I think my current name describes that well enough.

I chose my name because I like how 'deftly' and 'daph' sounds. My name is Daphne, so I just shortened it to Daph. I like the word 'deftly'. I find it weird how I love some random word for a short period of time, but then it gets boring and I don't use it again for a long period of time.

"'Belgaer.' Another tricksome bell, that sought to ring of its own accord. Belgaer was the thinking bell, the bell most necromancers scorned to use. It could restore independent thought, memory and all the patterns of a living person. Or, slipping in a careless hand, erase them."

-Garth Nix, Sabriel

I chose it because I like to think, and I have an anti-authoritarian nature.
Also, I'm new here, Hello! :D

As I am mortal my strongest preference in every thought is to live, thereby I derive a kinship to the prefix Vi. Slapping a boolean such as "on" to it seems only fitting for extra emphasis. I think of it as more of a heterosexual sounding term than Bionic.

From wikipedia: "The term chimera has come to describe any mythical or fictional animal with parts taken from various animals, or to describe anything composed of very disparate parts, or perceived as wildly imaginative, implausible, or dazzling."
And the "y" makes it cooler.:cat:

My favorite author is Franz Kafka and I feel like it describes my life very well.

Kaf•ka•esque (ˌkɑf kəˈɛsk)

adj.
1. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of the writings of Franz Kafka.
2. marked by a senseless, disorienting, often menacing complexity.

I read Kafka in 8th grade and realised that my teachers got very impressed whenever they saw me reading his books BY FREE WILL and so I used his name as a quick way to get better grades for the rest of my time in the education system. Mentioned him when they asked about what books I liked and in introduction letters on the first day of class, I read his books visibly in the classroom and each time they started a conversation about it. I ACED that one reading assignment about his works in my last year of high school. This trick worked every time with all of my Swedish teachers - they loved me. Try it.

So besides being my favorite word and describing the weirdness of Kafkas books and the world, Kafkaesque is a pretty pretentious phrase and it makes me sound smart and we have a long relationship.

I stalked for about 3 days, and then just joined on a whim. Perhaps I should have planned out my user name better, but I guess this one works. I think I subconsciously plagiarized it from somewhere but I can't be sure. Maybe I tried one username I thought wouldnt be taken and it was denied, so I thought, "seriously?" And then " Ser, ious, lee?" And thus it may have been born that way. I can't remember. Coming up with it probably took me a total of 5 minutes.

It just seems that when I pronounce it in my head or people refer to me by it, it doesn't seem to line up well with me as a person, but it doesn't matter.

It most certainly is a pun off of "seriously." I enjoy being able to use it for wordplay in fun threads. Although it is a pun off serious, which would suggest a jesting nature, I have found most of my posts to be of a serious nature. My name might partially discount that, but I don't think it really makes a difference.

There are also some other nicknames I go by:

Fuhrer Eus Lee, Mister Eus Lee, Dealer Eus Lee, Rebel Eus Lee, Cop Eus, Conch Eus Lee, and Stud Eus Lee.

I have a sister named Hillary Eus Lee, and a brother named Ted Eus Lee.

Sometimes when I introduce myself, I say, "I'm perv Eus Lee," and they might try to slap me for it but it doesn't hurt.

Anybody drive a Honda PrEus?

Enough of The Eus!

OK I'm done. Maybe I picked the right username.

Attreyu is the lead character in Michael Ende's book the never ending story (no relation to the botched movie attempt) it represents inner struggle in the quest for purpose.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but because I like how it sounds, and because it fits well with my favorite Team Fortress 2 character, Spy. It's nowhere near similar to my real name, so good luck trying to find my name from here.

Did we have a conversation about your name being an alternative to 'Hat Man' or did I imagine that? Lol

That was in my 6 month late intro thread. It was originally Hat Wearing MAN when I was getting a feel for the forum, but then I forgot the password and changed my name to Alias. I think I had a dream involving someone from the INTP forum, but I can't remember who.

Because we took the MBTI at work one day. I was an INTP and a co-worker that I enjoy and respect tested as an INTJ. I sent her the following image:

It relates to a simple physical rule. As a matter of fact existence allows things to happed in time only once. Of course same thing can occur but in a changed frame of reference which is coherent to the time, space and matter. One true caused by Us or entropy, and Us in a cause of world in broader context. Interestingly for quanta it could be both, black and white blending in a same time.

It is an abbreviation of my actual name, "Brandon J. Van Every", in the style that many Unix system administrators use to come up with a username. I was probably given a mainframe account in college with a very similar letter pattern, probably shortened to 8 letters though.

For awhile I was more inclined towards "vanevery0" because computer science people start counting from 0. (Well, the sane ones. ;-) Taking one's last name and attaching a number to the end of it, was a common way to distinguish users on the early to middle internet, say before Web 2.0 and all that. I thought, almost nobody is gonna take plain old "0" as their number, they won't think of numbers that way. So I'd probably never have a collision with anyone else's name. I'd get to own that name forever.

Somewhere along the way, somehow I got a "bvanevery" account somewhere, that somebody just handed to me. I couldn't do anything about it. I realized that it was still a pretty good distinguisher and I've rarely had collision problems with it.

The purpose of using my real name is to have a permanent brand identity that's traceable on the internet. For the most part, I am myself. Maintaining one's personal history in public has advantages and disadvantages. I hope to one day be a successful indie game developer, and then I think the presence of my name will be helpful to my cause. On the other hand, people will also find all the dirt over all these years, all the people I've pissed off. However the overwhelming volume of posts I've made in the past, will probably protect me from anyone actually finding much of anything. Like, how long would you read someone's ongoing windbag about this, that, and the other thing before you got very, very bored?

I'll let you know if it mattered if I'm ever famous.

In Victor Hugo's "The Toilers of the Sea", this boy/man named Gilliatt, a reclusive fisherman and dreamer. The setting of the book is on the Isle of Guernsey in France. Why Gilliatt? Gilliatt is an interesting character. He is not a giant hero, but more a giant abstraction. He is one of Hugo's ideal men with a positive moral nature about him.
Note: Here is an interesting point. As a writer, you cannot create an image of man as a convincing hero, a virtuous man without the correct values, virtue, philosophy. That is the major flaw in the history of Romantic literature. An altruist morality, it is impossible.

Obviously my name is a word play on sci-fi but as far as sci fi goes I exclusively watch Star Trek and some video game sci fi. It's hardly a defining thing in my life, but thought it's an OK username.
