I've used this name for years in video-games, being the one that always has to do all the work...

well people who recognize me as an intellectual tend to not pay much attention to me (im quiet) while i tend to act more energetic around my friends and they dont always see my scholarly side... and that is why i see myself as a hidden scholar

For some expectant parents, choosing a name for their new baby is a no-brainer. Some women have had their baby's name picked out for years. Some families look forward to passing down a family name. Some couples will even name their child after the city or place in which they were conceived, like all four of Ron Howard's children. (Can you guess which state daughter Bryce Dallas was conceived in?

@Melkor

I'm surprised that flamboyant transvestite Melkor didn't scoop that name up before you'd claimed it. :D

Named after one of my all time favourite songs by Billy Cobham.

I have like, 3 usernames. Each has their own function.

AkaruiRain? Because Akarui= bright, and rain= rain. I love rain, always found rain and gloomy weather refreshing, so to me, it is bright.

And I thought I was crazy, I _LOVE_ cold and rainy weather. Or hot and rainy, whatever.

I go for walks/jogs in the rain in a singlet and shorts. Best feeling ever.

I really like the play "Hamlet" by Shakespeare. I especially liked how Kate Winslet played her character.

i legally changed my name actually and picked it myself. its after a girl in an anime. i guess i sorta relate to her a lot. she's just a retarded alien girl who's like an outcast and all the other aliens dont like her just coz she's different physically. in the anime the aliens have this antenna in their heads and hers was messed up... me... im an alien to this country really. even where i came from i was different and people treated me that way and i never felt i belonged. here, i try to be a part of things but im just too different sometimes? but maybe like that freakazoid girl... i dont know, she just wont give up bugging mayu... and just laughs at the other asshole aliens. its hard to be different you know.

The key is easy to be remember and the simplicity fits the basic need of using particular username. Sometimes its a combination of special that you have in your life something that inspires you somewhat you always want to remember and find it cute. Amazing :elephant:

I generally use only two names, this one when i'm on a social type board, and one or another variation upon GrimReaper in games and such. (as my avatar so shows) I idolized George for a while, and his tactics were much the same as mine, all others be damned my way will work and it's just as well you don't try to stand on my toes, lest you wish me to make your life miserable. And that both George and I have a very similiar problem, we are both our own worst enemies.

A title of a creative writing story I wrote in year 11 at school that impressed my english teacher so much so he was telling students about it for 2+ years after and is still handing out photocopies to current classes apparently.

(that came off a lot more arrogant than I wanted)

Turn around very slowly...
I have a history of using hundreds of usernames, but for the most part I use actual words, often food (I'm not sure why, but playing a first person shooter as CostcoDog is fun). Anyway, I use Decaf a lot because I though it fit my personality, being mellower than normal coffee.

So what about everyone else?

In my case, I was trying to see which "stereotypical INTP" names hadn't already been taken.:^^:

Once i was introduced to the word, during high school, i couldn’t not use it as my in-game-name when playing computer games with my friends. The 42 is from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I used to fuss about usernames.
But then I find I like my name better.
So now I just usually use my name or initials.

I used my name because it very accurately represents what my mind feels like a lot of the time. I have ADD and some other screwy garbage so I have about five thoughts in my head at any one moment.

I had a friend that I played with way back in the day when we were kids and he would always use this name for everything, he got it from a lego bionicle, something to do with a storm lord or something. Eventually I moved away and never had any contact with him so when I came in for a visit I was shocked to find out that he had passed away a few weeks before. So I started to use the name to remember him and then it just kind of stuck and I use it for everything.

I once was going to start some sort of blog where I could moan about numerous things that annoyed me. It was going to be called "The Toasted Truth", which I liked. I even went to the effort of setting up a new email address, etc. The problem came when I procrastinated to actually post anything. Therefore, I tore the Wordpress site down and the name stuck.

I chose GREYGREY... And usually in general throw "Grey" in somewhere
Because my name origniates from whales where it means Grey.
Also my surname originates from Scotland/Irland where it came from
"The Greys"
So I thought that pretty interesting.
Plus I like the idea of balance. (Hence between light and dark)
Its a little lame I know....

Picking the right name for your child is a daunting task. It will stick with them for life, so the pressure's on! And while some countries have strict rosters of appropriate names you can choose from, in America almost anything goes. With all the options, it can be extremely overwhelming.

And of course, you'll regularly be fending off suggestions from family, friends, and strangers. While it doesn't hurt to be open to ideas, the decision is up to you and your partner. Don't be afraid to say thanks, but no thanks!

how I view myself (I'm 5'3, no way am I scary) but, sod it, it seemed like a good

username at the time.

So people would know what my name is without me having to say it. And a Belgian singer-songwriter from the 50's and 60's has a cool song about the guy.

Because I am a mere number that you all encounter. FEAR ME!

Seriously now, seven is actually my nickname given to me primarily from my mother as her "lucky" number is seven, I have a scar in the shape of a seven and the initials of my name when connected (first letter "A" turned upside down) makes the roman numerals for seven. VII.

Also my in to the paranormal/religion friend looked up my numerology which turned out to be seven.

I chose this name because it's a rearrangement of the word zeal, "Great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective," and it sounds like easel. I thought it would show my determination to become a great artist ^_^

I chose mine because a very good friend of mine, who's name was Jared, was big and hairy, so we called him Jarebear. In return, he called me Marxbear.

No one will ever believe this but, this is how it goes for me. I picked this name when the lowest part of my life began. A roommate of mine, I met through a friend. Always talked about religion every time we smoked alone. Then one day he creeped me the hell out and said, "you are SummumBonum." When he called me that it was like in the closest I can explain in words or thoughts, like a bell that got hit hardest I've every heard. It was like only ringing that word out through me. Still feel and hear it to this day like a haunting echo in my brain. I moved out that week, and found out later he was some kind of priest that left the church. Ever since that day something has changed inside me and I feel like I have been looking for something my whole life. That's how I ended up here. That's all I would like to say about that, hope you all don't think I am some kind of Psych patient. That's why I came here seeing as I tested as INTP and seems like these forums all talk about things that go through my head.

  1106 Done
