I ate a lava cake a week ago. And it was delicious. But that wasn't original enough. This prompted me to recall the fact that I love cupcakes as well. So, I be Lava Cupcake.

It's supposed to a pun on grammar and my being a girl who is likely to paraphrase (or misquote) things I have heard.

It was something my husband joked to me about a couple years ago and it popped in my head when I was staring at that blank registration page.

It was picked randomly for me when I signed up for an online service as a default name.

I could never have come up with a better one in my own.

So, yea, I guess randomness ftw indeed...
But I choose to believe it was not random!!

Bird was my nickname from my childhood and resulted from a long series of mutations from my first name. Many years ago, when playing Starcraft on Battlenet, I had my username be BirdVal, from the first few letters of my last name. At some point, someone called me BirdValiant, and I adopted it as my username for everything else.

What I'd like to know is how INTP Forum's Bird came to be called Bird.

During high school, I took German instead of French, Latin, or Spanish. Teacher required everyone to take a German name. I wanted Konstantin, but the guy ahead of me took it, so I took choice #2, Konrad. Have been using it since.

That's an easy one. Statistically, most people commit suicide on a monday. Why? Because monday sucks. It's an ode to the day we all hate and all the people who don't survive it.

I came up with Athideus after much deliberation on what to call a character in a game that i played. I had been looking at the names of greek gods and wanted something on that nature, an epic, greek sounding name. It started off as Thideus but then quickly changed after a suggestion from my brother. The "full" name of this "internet persona" is Athideus Olympian.

I picked digital angel because I like computers and electronic devices. The "angel" part comes in because some times I hear that I come across as very sweet and/or unassuming.

I started learning German 3 years ago, and this, my username, has been my favorite word from the beginning. It's a fun language: really precise, the grammar is interesting, and it really helps my understanding of english as a language.

Well, I've got time this summer and access to a large library. When those two things collide...I'll get it read! Thanks for the recommendation.

I once played a correspondance chess game under this nickname against a certain 'DecayedMoose'. Must be a chess player thing I guess.

slyspy is short for slytherinspy1960 (the name I usually use). Reference to harry potter of course-Severus Snape was in the slytherin house when attending hogwarts and was the head of slytherin when teaching potions and then later DADA. He was also a spy for the order of the pheonix and was born in 1960. Anyways when I used to go on stickam no one apparently knew how to say slytherin so they used to always call me sly which appealed to me because my favorite beanie baby growing up was a fox called sly. So I became known as slyspy.

i tend to spend the vast majority of time in my head...where you could assume things would be highly theoretical and abstract (as might be true for many intps). What i perceive through my senses cannot be taken as entirely truthful data, for it must be processed and interpreted by the brain, a wonderfully imperfect machine.
Now, since the reality I perceive is the only reality i will ever be able to fathom and is one that no one else could ever truly access, it makes sense that, my idea of the world, and everything that surrounds me, isnt entirely sound or tangible, as almost everyone falls victim to a form of subjectivity when braced with objective truths.

Anyone's reality could therefore be described as "incorporeal", or of essence, not simply substance.

i had an internal epiphany a little while ago while tripping on a lovely combination of m and mushrooms. its a simple concept in retrospect, but i enjoy the idea that the world is truly what i make of it.

for the record, in case anyone actually reads this, id like to introduce myself, as i signed up for this forum ligitimately minutes ago..

so....hey everyone, im zoe :)

I was searching for a rather intimidating name for a character in a video game. I Naively Chose Anubis: God of Death (He is actually the lord of embalment in Egyptian mythology who watches over spirits as leave the body and ensures them safe passage to the afterlife) I played that character so long that now not only to do i use the name for everything, but i respond to it too (and strangely enough: hey stupid). It's kind of a scapegoat for being actually creative :P.

Mine is, quite simply, the name of a character from The World Ends with You. This game turned the somewhat mediocre (in my opinion, anyway) concept of the Nintendo DS into a glorious system. Best use of a touch screen ever; fighting with two characters at once.

The storyline is quite epic; every INTP should go buy a copy immediately. :D And everybody else, for that matter. Not convinced? Well, it's by Square Enix. 'Nuff said.

Hearing these name explanation is quite anticlimactic. (Slyspy sounded so cool until you explained that. meh.)

I think I'll just leave mine as bizarre and mysterious as it is. There's a reason magicians don't reveal their tricks...

...it's for the audience's sake. The truth is almost always such a letdown.

I made this one a while ago. In fact, almost a year ago, while revising GCSE chemistry. Lithium's flame colour is red and that made me think of a red cat. I played around with the format for a bit before deciding on 'thelithiumcat'. I'm rather proud of it =)

I got my nick from one of my favorite books from when I was maybe eight or nine. Not Wuthering Heights, actually, although I am a fan of that book, but The Secret Garden, when Mary's maid talks to her about the wind wuthering over the moor. For some reason I really liked it, and used it from then on.

I just recently started to be interested in programming, helloworld traditionally being the 'first program' you write. Which indeed I did. Joz is a twist on my real name. I recently signed up for something and just tagged helloworld on the end when it wouldn't allow Joz. But when I signed up here it seemed appropriate, with me on a bit of a buzz about the whole INTP thing...

But actually it feels a bit strange and not really expressive of me and perhaps I may try to change it back to what I usually use at some point.

I'm always in search of the perfect internet name, one that is original and clever. As you can imagine, that's pretty hard to find. I first went by mrnosepicker which I thought was hilarious as a kid. I realized as I got older that it was was pretty ridiculous, especially for gaming. I went through a few others and now my search has come to Froyo which is short for frozen yogurt. Froyo is what they call it at my college and I don't think many people use the term so it's a success for now. :)

Going for the anonymity factor, plus it was kind of a funny Mad TV skit (yeah, they had a few) where an extraterrestrial was running for president. Tickled me at the time, so I kind of adopted it.

The concept of anonymity has played a big role in my life. I was born at the beginning of this "Internet Era," and my high school friends called me "NoMan" as a nickname. My real name is Nolan. I never picked the name or was sure where I got it from. It just stuck after a while, and it was likely picked because of my indifference, inability to make decisions, apathy, etc. that I displayed a lot at the time. It became a pretty big part of my personality.

A week before I moved out of my guardians' place, I had no idea I was going to. I went to see Rango on shrooms. There was this scene where a Clint Eastwood caricature pep-talks Rango back into the game. Towards the end of the scene Clint gets back in his Hollywood golfcart and draws a rectangle around Rango (from his POV) in the windshield, and then says "No Man can walk out on his own destiny."

Pretty simple line, but I was tripping pretty hard, and at that moment I realized that I was financially, mentally, and physically prepared to move in with my girlfriend. I just needed to grow some balls and do it.

(My guardians were elderly and somewhat dependent on my constant attention, and it was hard to tell them that I had a life to live and an education to get. I felt stuck, destined to take care of them well into my '20s.)

So I did. And I'm happier than ever.

So that's my user name. And an edited version of that shot from Rango is currently my avatar.

I just picked mine today! (actually yesterday, but what I interpret as a day starts and ends with sleep)

In 7th grade, my cousin and I wrote a program on VB which randomized a list of ~25,000 words and then mashed two or three of them together. Very soon we both had made over 40 AIM screen names (and spam-battled each other on all of them). "Humblecheesecake" was among these.

I was about to choose my nick, that could be short and look normal... I have heard then Darude's song "sandstorm"... well, I liked it in those times (now not so much, but it is possible for me to keep listening 'til end). The people then always ask me "Why darude?" I just answer them "Because..." I had the alternative too, it was "Future-man", but that one would be really super dumb :D, so I have sticked to the Darude... and eleven? Well, it was just random number repeated, so it is typed in shorter time :D:D

//and, yeah, I've also almost forgot my other username (not on this forum), that is "Widoo"... not sure what it can mean, it was the outcome from some random 'say-able' generator :P

Although it seems pretty self explanatory ( yes this is my real name ), I do not believe in creating a false identity. I want to be responsible for my actions and having my real name here makes me think before I post something vulgar. I guess its you could call it a fail-safe.

I wanted something unique but culturally accessible, self-identifying but kind of quirky/whimsical. I had never seen anyone else use this userid anywhere, so it seemed to fit the bill.
