  • I know exactly what you mean about all the assumptions people make of us, and how most don't understand the complexity of our internal world. That often we find it so much more interesting than the external, how we can get lost in it and/or would much rather be there. How we appear to be doing little or nothing only because no one can see what's going on inside. How the things that fascinate us are not simply the result of too much thinking. I think it's only really possible for people of the same type to understand each other, and even then, there are still differences.
My father is an ISTJ, and my mother, thank the gods, is an INFP. I have a lot of problems getting on with the majority of SJ's, and I'm not the kind of person to put up with their shit. Generally I try to avoid them. I never particularly had any significant problems with my father growing up, I was always too smart to provoke trouble. But he has always frustrated me, and the older I get, the worse it gets. I have always gotten on reasonably well with my mother, I consider myself lucky to have had a mother like her when I was growing up. The thought of having an ESFJ mother as well makes me cringe.
    Hello Lithium.

Ugh, I feel sorry for you having two SJ parents. Do they drive you crazy?
