Basically, whatever is on your mind at this moment, type it in this thread..

I'm currently wondering why we exist.. Is this coincidence? Or is there a reason?

What are you thinking about? Tell me...

I'm confused. Isn't there already a thread like this? Or is this vol 2?

Currently I try to find 100 reasons why humanity shouldn't be exterminated, like every morning!

Oh no, it's gonna be 150, I'm a bit angry today. :borg:

Thinking about physicalism, reductionable and non-reductionable, and trying to determine whether I believe that our perceptions are caused by our neurological processes versus our perceptions physically being our neurological processes.

Caffeine has a half-life of approximately five to seven hours, and based on its effect on sleep, you could curtail oversleeping by slamming a little bit before you hit the hay if you worked it correctly with adenosine and your own exhaustion and need for sleep. Just an, admittedly insalubrious, idea. An alarm clock is maybe a better, more long-term solution.

Apparently folks slept for an average of ten hours around Edison's time, and they only average (optimistically?) seven hours nowadays, so I say get as much as you fucking can get nightly, just have some water bedside to forestall dehydration. Also, melatonin production from age twenty to fifty is snipped in half. Damn aging...

Anyway, to the thread's actual point, if there is one, I'm reading this undergraduate thesis of Infinite Jest by Chris Hager. I don't know who the fuck Chris Hager is but the thesis is pretty trenchant, albeit too cute in parts, and its leading me to view Wallace as more of a genius than I thought he was yesterday.

Trying to decide what I'd most like to do today... what to read and work on and whether I should just do that all day or try to clean up the apartment too.

It's 8:35 in the morning.

When to call this guy I met online....I haven't dated in 2.5 years and I just met him two days ago and already he wants me to call...

I am not usually interested in "talking" with people until a few WEEKS into getting to know them (via other means like text, IM, email, etc), but I'm trying not to sound weird to others by saying "I'm sorry, I don't want to talk on the phone with you until I decide if you're worthy"....

I'm sure they will interpret it as "I'm sorry I'm really a dude and I want to lure you in first before I reveal my transgenderism"

The economical health of the west. Very headache like sensation.

A bank employe called me today to make offer on a loan. And I asked what interest they could offer. Well, to get the best rate I had to have 15% of the total sum, borrow 85%. And I had 12.5%. That was close enough, could look at it. So I gave the total sum of the investment, how much I had and how much I needed to borrow. Told me that was 92,5%. I asked how that number was reached. Told me again, and was convinced the number was correct. That made me seriously worried. The math is about as basic as you can get it. Not only that, the numbers are so easy, alarm bells should automatically ring if you have any relation to numbers at all. Reminded me of the engineer at Alexander Kjelland accident. Where something as simple(for an engineer) as security factor in dimensioning of welds and stress and fatigue limits of steel was unfamiliar. And when then using computerized(automatic) formulas the alarm bells didn't go off when error was made. Catastrophe was insured. Unfamiliarity with the stuff they do. No mental model in their brains wow.

Scary stuff. That economist really put the shakes in me. I wonder if I should call the management and make them aware of the incidents. I am not one to shake it off as insignificant if I see a butterfly flap their wings. Events like that. Events like that tends to tear whole foundations apart!

I'm basically working through a decision tree of "what will I do if situations X, Y, or Z happen to me?" Outcomes range from enjoying a beer on the beach to... not so nice outcomes.

On a side note, I miss 1996.

The futility of existence.

I have a tendency to get like that after hanging in crowds as I get the illusion of being alone and different. Even when surrounded by NFs and NTs. It reminds me of my younger days when I actually were alone.

Confusion.

I have a day off and I don't know whether I should continue with the assignment on the Murrumbidgee river hydrology or the other one on the Diamond Firetail, a local finch threatened by extinction.

And suddenly I find myself here.....

.....and I'm reminded of the wonderful people I should be writing to....

....and the garden needs care, my ISTJ neighbour did my side of the drive the other day and I feel guilty, argh....

.....or should I go for a walk in the rain, there are many species of frog that have surfaced with the unusual downpour lately.....

I'm torn.

That does not necessarily mean existence is futile.

It's just a phase.

How stunted my Fe has been throughout life, due to having hardly ever been around people with it

How INTJs like to think they're the most cold and intelligent, but they have feeling 3rd place and thinking 2nd place

It's funny how much "control" I and people here are taking comfort in, over some theoretical system

Concept of general life practicality is appearing more and more these days

I'd like to be thinking about something world-changing right now, but to be honest, I have ridiculous traffic tickets on my mind. I went to renew my CDL this past weekend, and apparently, the city of Pontiac dug up some traffic ticket from 8 years ago that I don't even remember, and suspended my license without telling me. I know for a fact that my license was clear 5 years ago, and I haven't had a ticket in Michigan since.

Added to that, I got a ticket in Brooklyn, New York recently, for making an unauthorized left turn (sign was covered in spray paint and illegible), and for being off a truck route (New York doesn't actually TELL you which roads are or are not acceptable... you're apparently just supposed to divine this information out of pure voodoo). So, now I get to waste $500 on a damn lawyer. Stupid bullshit. Ugh.

Oh well, hopefully I can get at least the nonsense with Michigan cleared up today. For now, it's time for sleeeeeep.

well today i was bored at work and i saw these pants and shirts hanging up and i thought...those colours look terrible together. And then i was thinking about how ive learned about the colour wheel and what colours go together and dont look that great...And THEN im thinking well just how sound can be measured in frequency--like say a major third--that sounds great together, the frequencies vibrate in a manner that is pleasant to the ear.....so does the same happen with colours and our vision? I want to learn/see it more in detail or something!

Suicide

Why continue to try and resolve what I know can be corrected in this world and attempt to be a part of it? But I'm not sure what's on the other side, and until I get there, I'll have my fun in this life, or at least attempt to have fun. Will I do good or evil? Or will I have no part and sit back to watch the world continue it's cycle, grabbing from it what I can but staying out of it's way. I want to leave, I've already generalized the predicaments that are set to consume humanity, so why not see what the next life will bring?

Check the lawyer's hands for spray paint.

Then who will set up a SoCal Meetup (the one I have commitment phobia over). You know none of us slobs will. Not to mention, what if there is a next life and it's chock full of ESFJs?

Before I came to this thread, I was contemplating the best way to subdue and rule a small community of people after society inevitably collapses, then slowly extend my influence through diplomacy and warfare until I had direct control over a large territory, preferably about the size of California. Now, though, I'm just thinking about how dumb eagor's avatar is again.

I'm always so fidgety. I cant help it. I have to be doing 5 things at once, even if Im not at my laptop. Mindless busy work (school) counts as nothing to me. Currently, on my laptop i have 3 windows open, and each of them have about 15-20 tabs open on them and thats nothing compared to most other days. SO MANY THINGS, TOO LITTLE TIME. :storks:

Oh yeah where were we? Whats on my mind:

1. FInishing my painting that I started a week ago
2. Must make coffee and get away from school assignment
3. Making room on my bed for next laundry pile

Things that move and dance. The way this thread flows as I read it, how my words will be interpreted as you read them and I wonder in what way, I need to learn how to write well, which means I might have to spend many years improving how I write sentences and choose the words in them, so that I can write on some themes, even if they have already been done and been lost, and now I wonder if I should even hit that submit button, who will read this and why?, it is only my thoughts separated from yourself, but intertwined in other ways, I reason either way and so I will anyway without reason.

but this feels self-indulgent in a pathetic way...................................................................................so now if I don't post this, you won't know the conflict that went on in my mind, but are you even interested? Again, I can reason either way. In any case, I can only act now without reason.
