What is your favorite color?

So I ran around trying to figure out why I liked my favorite color and I walked over two things, Luscher's and this link.

There is a description of a personality associated to a color. As rubbish as it sounds I would say it had a >50% correlation to my personality.

So I am holding a poll to see if it's all bullshit.

I don't have a "favorite" colour I have three... Pity I might go with the less generic one though. Link is probably some mystic stuff but this is purely speculation as I can't be bothered checking it out.

I don't understand how it is possible to like or dislike a colour, or have a favorite one. Meaning purely in abstract sense.
Colour favoritism in connection to some situation like weddings, events, or in connection with objects , for example, preference for white shirts, and dislike of purple trousers..is understandable. When the colour is an integral part of the object, and thus linked, I have preferences, but not just a detached colour in itself.
I think colour schemes can be judged and liked just by itself, without any attachment to an object. For instance white and gold, or green and yellow, etc. But for myself i still have to know its 'destination'.

By the way I did this test some time ago , and I ca n say, never I was so confused by having to make a choice. The answer I got then I couldn't relate to..

What I find interesting about this is that so far, the only colors that have been chosen were at one time my favorite color. I wonder if there is a correlation between your MBTI type and the tonal range of colors you find favorable. I do believe I recall an article I read a while ago where it described extroverts as preferring warmer tones while introverts preferred cooler tones.

I like Blue
and Violet/purple.

I am more a fan of Royal Purple and darker the better.

Navy blue is my favorite color. I don't like Black but colors close to black are interesting.

Violet/purple has a sort of elegance to it. If I could, my choice I would be to have all my outfits in different shades of grey but I don't care enough to go to those lengths for clothing.

To be honest, any of those could be me.

Now that I think about it I would say orange is the best color because if we could see what it actually looks like without the reflection of orange, I think it would have the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye feel to it. To me, orange is ugly and the absence of it would make the best possible combination of all the other colors mixed togather. Just my opinion.

I always liked red ever since I was young. This is mainly because it was the color of blood and I was fascinated with myths, legends and monsters, especially Dracula, when I was younger. Nowadays I like things mostly black with lines or parts of them red(blue is also alright).

I remember how I chose my favorite color to this day. We were doing a project in primary school that required the use of at least three colors. Now usually when I colored I use only two colors; my mom and dad's favorite colors. However the teacher told us to choose a third color and that's when I realized I didn't have a favorite color of my own. I would always just choose my parents'. So what I did was a laid out all the crayons and choose the one I liked the best. That color just so happened to be red. My favorite color combination? Red and black.

The more detailed description seems true enough. The obvious thought to me is that, had I chosen a different one, I'd conform whatever it said to me and accept it as personal. Same with MBTI and Enneagram to an extent.

I rarely wear pink as I largely dress not to be noticed, and pink is a pretty bold colour for a guy to wear. I do have a lot of pink socks though, sounds like bull, but it does make me feel brighter in my step when I do.

My life long favorite is a charcoal (or soft brown) Gray:

I disagree with the decription of needing to keep the peace very much so. In fact, I think alot of usefull insight & information can be gained from arguing. And I enjoy it.

Another strong favorite of mine is an earthy red, also not listed.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned E(t)'s may choose warm tones. I agree. Especially as an adult, I have gone out of my way to choose warm tones that others will related to well. Browns, golds, eggplant, olive greens. I realize it softens or endears me.

Also realize the power of color in cars. Since I generally don't care to 'obey' I've gone for tastefully attractive cars that convey an amount of maturity and class that will not get me pulled over.
