What are your two strongest type characteristics using the Paragon test?

Paragon Learning Style Inventory
http://www.oswego.edu/plsi/taketest.htm
I found this to be the best and most represenative on the Jungian personality tests, true to my character. Also, it shows the the most prevalent and least prevalent of my/your traits.

Post your scores in replies, if you want.

The test requires pen and paper. I know this is old fashioned, but ...

My scores came out as:

Introvert 8
Intuitive 10
Thinker 7
Perception 11

which is how I see myself.

Strong NPs have trouble at school. I wonder if it is genetic. One of my relatives was called Rebel Stanton.

I am not surprised from your replies.

Perception is the Raptor scale. (If there are high scores in the INT scale). INT = most academic success

High perception is a powerful Golden Eagle, mid-perception would be the smaller birds of prey, perhaps the swift moving Peregrine. Perception probably around the 3 or 4 mark is seen with Sparrowhawks and Kestrels.

So my three strongest are I, N and T. Pretty surprised it's that high, I would have thought the N would be a little lower, but I've never really noticed the N much, if that makes sense.

Eagles (INTJ) and Hawks (INTJ) are distingushed only by their size, or in their animism by their Perception, the larger Eagles scoring higher on the P scale and the Hawks lower. Percpetion is only possible if you rise above the mundane and ordinary and only applies if you have a high Intuition score as well. The logic is that Eagles fly above the woods and get lost amongst the trees (details).

But even some powerful birds of prey can score low on Intuition like the Goshawk. The implication is that these bird of prey can handle the details. Not me, I cannot fix the video without the instruction book (and that is lost somewhere in the woods and I can't find it).

The test is for ordinary cultures, the average. The questions could be asked in an arcane world, with more abscure questions and answers.

However, most people have to live and work in the woods with the Blockheads and Earthlings. I have dampen down my perception (switch off), but it is not so easy to dampen down the intuition and increase the sensing. Most jobs are mundane and the higher facilities are only called upon on special occasions.

Hawkeye.

They are thinking self-referentially and not about another's expectation of them. They do not "out-think" the test.

They are not currently having emotional problems or under stress.

They are able to read at a 4th grade level or better.

Each subsequent test tends to be more reliable than the last

Although I thought the first results were representative, I'll do it again.

Introvert 8
Intuitive 10
Thinker 7
Perception 11

which is how I see myself.

Strong NPs have trouble at school. I wonder if it is genetic. One of my relatives was called Rebel Stanton.

I did the test again and this time, I put an X in the box when I was undecided:

Now the scores were

Introvert 7 - 3 (previously 8 - 4)
Intuitive 12 (previously 10 - 2)
Thinker 8 -2 (previously 7 - 5)
Perception 11 -1 (same as before)

The general trend of me being a card-carrying psychedelic NP still remains, with all the difficulties it causes with the Guardians SJ.

I am inclined to think some of my thinking answers are not ingrained but a thought out response to circumstances and these would have been different when I was younger. Over the years I have moved more from Introvert to Extravert and from Feeler to Thinker.

Then for the hell of it, I thought I would do the test before (as I imagined I was) I suffered a head injury:

Introvert 6-6 (previously tested 8 & 7)
Intuition 11-0 (previously tested 10 & 12)
Thinker 3-6 (previously tested 7 & 8)
[Note that thinking in this test applies a lot to interpersonal relations]
Perception 10-0 (previously tested 11)

This was a different category at INFP; the Dragon, or even ENFP the Ferret. All told, it really meant that I did not really understand people, and I daresay I don't now. But still the strong NP, the unconventional.

I don't think the thinker is liked any more. Less by the same gender, preferred by the opposite gender.

The tests includes thinking about people (which I never used to bother about before I discovered Keirsey) as I used to mix with my own kind (I expect). I sused to think about science, philosophy and theories, but these might go under intuition ???

I/E : 12/0
N/S : 8/4
T/F : 12/0
P/J : 6/6

Or in percentages:
I 100%
N 67%
T 100%
P 50%

Doesn't really surprise me. The only curious one is the P/J.

I/E-11/1

P/J-7/5

Odd. My results complement themselves (11/1's complement is 7/5. I don't quite understand what I'm saying myself, so don't bother).

All MBTI tests I've taken have said I'm INTP. This one says INTX, however.

My strongest two were Introversion and Thinking.

One of the first things we cover when studying the ethical use of the MBTI is that the scores you get in no way represent how extreme, or how much skill you have in any area. What it indicates is how CERTAIN you are that that is your letter. Even people who score 100% in favor of one type might be the other depending on the mood, upbringing, stress level, etc of the person during testing.

Of the tests that have been scientifically validated, only the MBTI Step III gives actual values to each tested trait, but it has to be administered by a certified level C professional in a face to face meeting. A lot like taking an ink blot test.

Most internet tests, while still useful for sorting, tend to average an accuracy of 60% under the best circumstances in getting all 4 letters right. You can see why counting on the specific values is somewhat irrelevent. But people like numbers. Hell, I do. Just be certain you know the numbers you're using mean something.

Have you listed the MBTI types as animals anywhere?

Perseus has a rather involved animal breakdown of the different types that are of his own design. It tends to puzzle the hell out of everyone, lol. "The Dragons Lair" on this forum was created specifically for his threads and he breaks down the animal designations in some of them. You might look at the thread there titled "Thank you for your suggestion". I think there is a breakdown of it that Auburn posted.

He is one of our more interesting characters. ;)

Part of me wants to dissect him to see how he works. It would be considerably less distressing if I didn't get the feeling that's exactly the way he wants it.

You know the mice in Hitchikers guide to the galaxy?

It's either a complete disconnect from all other frames of mind other than his own or an understanding that speaking in riddles will get him far more attention.

Fascinating.

It is a simple expedient of allocating animal names to the initials. cf. Astrology.

Not that I have any respect for Astrology as a useful science.

IXXJ is the Secretary Bird. Although, I am not sure how secretive it is?

I would presume as much, seeing as quite a few animals are present in astrology already.

My curiosity stems from the fact you make no attempt whatsoever to define your terms when using them in casual conversation; at least not without considerable prompting.

I see three causes for this......either (a)you not know that using self developed terms would be confusing to someone without some sort of frame of reference,(b) you don't care(c) You are aware and confusion is your intended effect.

which is it? I'm not judging, just curious.

Don't care is nearest. Writers and artists don't bother to explain. At least, not unless you share the same bed.

Did John Steinbeck explain why the patron of the Great Bear Cafe was called Fauna (Sweet Thursday).

The INTPs' distant goal is always to rearrange the environment somehow, to shape, to construct, to devise, whether it be buildings, institutions, enterprises, or theories. They look upon the world -- natural and civil -- as little more than raw material to be reshaped according to their design, as a formless stone for their hammer and chisel.
http://www.oswego.edu/plsi/intp.htm

So naturally, I would rearrange the MTBI intitals to something of my choosing. This I would do without conscious thought. It would be almost automatic. Thought comes with checking out the allocations, which were changed.

ENTPS are Snakes (lots of different types). Have you met a Boa at a party? A Chameleon is very close to the Phoenix (XNXP). Crocodiles and Turtles are INXP or close-by. The systematics have not been worked out yet.

Saffy, that is what a chameleon is. But being a chameleon is something that INTPs do; it's an action. So it wouldn't be our MBTI-animal. It would also be incorrect to try to attach a MBTI type to "chameleon", and it wouldn't make any sense to compare the chameleon to MBTI-animals.

Chameleons

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chameleon

are lizards, more like snakes than Lizards so they are ENTP. Snakes do not hear what people say and they can said to be deaf. Feel vibrations though.

Problems can arise if you do not hear what people say. You can become isolated from society. This is being alone, or lonely, depending on how you feel. I am apt to be like that. I do not listen to idiots and there seem to be mostly idiots around.

True Lizards can hear though.

Chameleons have bright changeable colours.

Being that I don't care enough to remember my results, I've done MBTI tests a few times, and always came up with INTP. I skimmed the longer explanations on some website and found that I relate to the large majority of types. Rarely anything with 'F' though... <.<

I'm trying to work out the fascination with the system...

It is my high Perception load at 11 that causes me most difficulties. The Sensing-Judging continuum is the one that causes the most difficulties in the workplace.

Under the influence of alcohol I gravitate towards ENFP (Ferret). This can cause trouble.
