Okay, so I've been admin on completely different (AND MUCH MORE TERRIBLE) boards, but usually, there is an option to change the width of the 'users online' list.

by that I mean, can we lessen the boundaries which decide when a user is officially 'offline'?

I'm sure poeple have noticed, but if you log off, the site still says you are 'online' for several hours afterwards.
This is very confusing for simple beings like myself, who immediateely assume that said person is on, when in fact they have left quite some time ago.

Can anything be done?

As in making someone appear as offline as soon as, or just after they log out?

Does that happen only when you just close the window instead of hitting "log out", or always?

Okay, I tested it. If you hit log out you disapear from the list instantly. It seems that noone uses it, thats the problem. Still, maybe something can be done, lets see what Jesin and LoR say.

Theres no use asking Lor, she's an idiot...

I suppose we could sort of just impose the importance of logging out when you leave....

Use the log out button, twit.

(And I humbly apologise to all for the times I myself forget to do so, I know how it deters you all so from posting when I'm around.)

Well, normally i use the logoff button when i change the location (you know, like going to classes), since if i don't do it, and my ip changes, it messes up the new posts page....
Otherwise, when being at home, i mostly do not log off cause i mean, i am always on the computer. Not always lkurking in the forum, but every now and then i will go here and look for new posts.

I don't log out because then I have to log back in. Yeah, I think anyone who's been inactive for more than 2 hours should not be on the "online" list. I'll see if I can change that after I get home. *is posting this from school during 8th period, which is sort of a free period*

For those imaginatively challenged individuals such as Melkor...

may I also suggest that if you're seriously keen to know if someone is around, that opening their public profile will reveal their last known where abouts.

I do that all the time for you, sweetie.

eg: Melkor. Last active viewing NoID10ts user profile @2.31am
