If humans were to start doing gene splicing on chimpanzees, with which animal would scientists first splice em with?

What if.......

Esteemed colleagues, we reveal today the shrimpanbee!

It produces honey, flings feces and makes for a decent meal for the whole family.

Abby Martin interviews retired U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former national security advisor to the Reagan administration, who spent years as an assistant to Secretary of State Colin Powell during both Bush administrations. Today, he is honest about the unfixable corruption inside the establishment and the corporate interests driving foreign policy.

Hear a rare insider's view of what interests are behind U.S. wars, the manipulation of intelligence, the intertwining of the military and corporate world, and why the U.S. Empire is doomed.

Have lately been thinking back about some opportunities I may have missed (I literally do this 24/7) out on particularly during my teens. I was adamant about my political stance at the time (counterculture, US gov't did 9/11) and couldn't so easily be swayed. But I actually was in a pretty stable position at the time... And so didn't feel much need to try and impress everyone and a bunch of random people. I guess you could say something about the cause being entering a new stage in life but not really.
Few weeks ago came across a familiar name then a couple weeks later asked about it and learned it was the friend of a classmate. Couple more weeks later he brings him through and so I figured I'd say hey. Used the 'ol, "do we know each other?" line and he said no, although I look kind of different nowadays. This guy was from the community college I went to and the friend of the first girl I fell pretty hard for and attempted to befriend but it ended miserably. Don't think I fully hit puberty yet or something and so while it seemed promising, she brought in some body builder type guy to, I guess, show me how it is done. It was pretty awkward especially since we had to spend lots of time together because class and club. I remained as good a sport as I could. Of course, their thing didn't last but I guess she enjoyed it? He went on to better things... I still see her recently too. She deleted me off FB years ago because I lol'd at a New Year's Resolution she made. She apparently can't stay out a relationship. And is dating some fat Latino guy I knew in middle school - I honestly don't get it, how did they even meet? So while talking to the guy yesterday it seemed my sole purpose was to see what he thought about all that. He said he only made two friends while he was there, her & the guy. He just had to mentioned their name and it brought lots of emotion flooding back for a brief moment which is seemingly what I wanted. Wanted whoever was there to know the pain! And then it was over. Turned out pretty well. Don't think he talks to her anymore either... What's worse is, last time I saw her was a month or so ago and I think she has been vaguely trying to get my attention. Not really. There's no point. It was a pivotal moment during my life. Some people have said she was just scared because of her somewhat boyish facial features and that I was a bit prettier than her. Oh well. There's suffering either way. I don't really get embarrassed when I semi frequently see people we both knew and who were there. They seem to understand. Stupid silly teenagers. Will go out on a limb here and say she probably thinks I'm handsome enough now. Totally didn't realize it back then that I was some black sheep unaware of how temporarily deranged I must have appeared to these people. Seems more hilarious now than anything. Not sure why I told this tale.

Ugh, my dodgy sleeping routine is making it hard for me to fall in line with functioning society. A month of frequent drug use has really put me on a kilter.

I've generally been falling asleep about 6-9am and waking up about 4pm.
I work from 5pm onwards. Even my friends have been up at crazy times.. even when I'm being 'normal', they are not.

I done an all nighter a day or two ago, in an attempt to make my self sleep at a normal time, I just slept for 16 hours and woke up at midnight wide awake.

No idea how long this will last.
I know my friends will want to get high again pretty soon too.

Part of me wants to party, part of me wants to start making headway with an ever building list of projects and uni assignments.

Adulting is so difficult... who the fuck left me in charge of my life?!
Oh yeye.. nvm.

This is an old random thought of mine, but the reason I think the string theory "M-Theory" is 'M-Theory' is because it's a combination of 5 theories and the letter M has 5 points due to its 4 vectors.

5 points to represent the 5 theories.

depression is overrated, depersonalization is much more fun. giving the full affect of feeling empty, with emotions being muffled ;)

Almost said "now it's 27," but then I realized I've been lurking for 2 hours and now it's no longer the 25th

I liked the brain teaser you posted on that other thread though

Alan Watts reminds me of an unpleasant truth. You can't be happy without having skills. And here i am waiting to loosen up, come out of anxiety, as if that will change everything. But i can't dance, i can't sing, can't really draw anymore, my skateboarding sucks, nobody took enough time to teach me proper cunnilingus, posting crappy thoughts may be the best i've got ... Kill me now.

Your crappy thoughts are sometimes intimidatingly good...

Not to say they can't be crappy at the same time, from a subjective PoV. Personally i consider my output inferior to my mind, and i'll wait til age 40 or something to judge myself on that.

Is it virtuous to have sex with your friend's girlfriend and then tell him about it immediately afterward?

Or to decline her advances and not tell him?

Or to decline her advances and tell him?

Hypothetically.

How long have they been together?
How strong is your friendship?

Although my general advice is not to shit on your own proverbial doorstep.

Ah but this is a philosophical question.
It should not be relevant, neither the strength of the friendship nor the duration of the romance.

Nobody wants to fuck me.

It's just a random thought.

Well in short... the whole scenario is far from virtuous... but declining and telling is as close as it comes.

Anyway I used to know a guy who loved his girlfriend very much. He once explained to us that if anyone ever had the chance to fuck her, he should do it, and tell him immediately afterward.

His rationale was two fold

1) if she's DTF, she's DTF. It's not relevant with whom she is down.
2) a true friend would not conceal such heartbreaking information

However it opens up the question of "thought-crime" or otherwise the fact that without hard evidence that the deed is objective, without the actual act of sex, it's insufficient to declare infidelity.

So by his rationale, the only virtuous thing to do is fuck her and then tell him.

Yes, I think it was Aristotle who wrote that if she is DTF then it's virtuous as long as you tell your friend afterwards.

Why do we say "it is" and occasionally "'tis" as their own independent clauses, yet we do not say "it's" as its own independent clause?

Why do we say "Why don't you..." but not "Why do not you..."?

Why have we so skillfully acquired the second-natured use of "Ouch!" upon being hurt, and "Hahaha!" upon being humored. Even babies laugh. Odd babies don't. (Pun intended.)

What if God (or a god of some sort) created the universe with intriguing mathematical and physical properties to test the rationalists' loyalty to him?

What if I'm just part of an experiment and everyone else and the universe is part of an intricate computer simulation?

What if I've been nonexistent for eternity until the most present instant in which any thoughts of having existed prior to the most present instant is simply false knowledge that has been "downloaded" into me?

Is it possible to conclusively, irrevocably, and indisputably prove anything? Is it possible to conclusively, irrevocably, and indisputably prove that we can or cannot prove anything?

You appear not to know how to make a point that's relevant to the proposed topic.

In order for it to exist in your mind, you have to relate it somehow to experience you've had or people you know, or in general you have to apply the situation to reality. You started by requesting context and then said "not a good idea to shit on your doorstep" or something to that effect.

I really don't think you know what philosophy is.

Have you ever been accused of being a stalker?

Yes, I have. Many times.

I'll entertain this line of discussion for 2 reasons:

1) It entertains me

2) You follow a predictable pattern. I essentially anticipated your next comment would be something personal, irrelevant, and an attempt to discredit, humiliate, or otherwise undermine my character. That's intuition. I literally "KNEW" you would disclose personal information in a wanton matter to try and save face because you aren't capable of addressing the topic itself.

Why do we respond to these questions with the same answer (either with yes or with no, depending upon your opinion).

John: "Do you agree?"
(Dave agrees.)
Dave: "Yes."

John: "Don't you agree?"
(Dave agrees.)
Dave: "Yes."

As opposed to this, which makes more sense:

John: "Do you agree?"
(Dave agrees.)
Dave: "Yes."

John: "Don't you agree?"
(Dave agrees.)
Dave: "No."

I'm up, I'm bathed, I'm fed, I'm watered, I've kick started the party, and now it's time for me to grab 30 mins to rock out to myself before I have to entertain the late arrivals.. :twisteddevil:
