Sauron
75% Evil, 100% Intelligence, 85% Common Sense

Annatar, The Black Hand, The Ring-maker, The Red Eye -- Sauron went by many names over the generations of his dark and twisted rule. For thousands of years, he terrified the inhabitants of the land. His knowledge was vast, his ability to control was unmatched. Originally the servant of a greater evil, he took command when his master was banished from the world, never to return. He had an intimate knowledge of craftworks and various magics, which he employed to great effect to build one of the greatest, darkest of lairs in a region so twisted and corrupt, life itself simply gave up upon entering. He also went on to create what may possibly be the smallest, simplest of super weapons known, that granted him near complete control over the lands. The one crucial mistake he made, however, was to bind his very existence to that super weapon, and when it was destroyed in the very fires that created it, Sauron found his essence shattered and destroyed.

Sauron is identified as being extremely evil, possessing incredibly high intelligence and great amounts of common sense. For all intents and purposes, Sauron is quite possibly the greatest of Overlords to have ever reigned.

Quote:
Of old there was Sauron the Maia, whom the Sindar in Beleriand named Gorthaur. In the beginning of Arda Melkor seduced him to his allegiance, and he became the greatest and most trusted of the servants of the Enemy, and the most perilous, for he could assume many forms, and for long if he willed he could still appear noble and beautiful, so as to deceive all but the most wary.

Shao Kahn

35% Evil, 61% Intelligence, 85% Common Sense

Shao Kahn is the current Emperor of Outworld, after having overthrown the former Emperor. Employing clever strategies and effective uses of his vast armies, he laid siege to dimension after dimension, conquering and then fusing them into Outworld itself. In recent times, he has set his sights on Earth (known as Earthrealm in Outworld), and has sent forth several of his minions to sow the seeds of chaos among Earthrealm to prepare for his eventual attack.

Shao Kahn has a rating of moderate evilness. His ability to plan his attacks and effectively manage the resources of the many fused realms of Outworld also reveals a moderate level of intelligence and a high level of common sense.

55% Evil, 83% Intelligence, 80% Common Sense

Grahf is an entity that primarily consists of the raw emotions of hate, anger, and bitterness. Born from the ashes of the Third Contact, Grahf lives on by posessing the bodies of others, and travels the world seeking people gullible enough to accept his raw power in return for doing his evil bidding. At one point in his long history, Grahf was responsible for the near extinction of almost all life on his world, but he was defeated before accomplishing this task. He later re-surfaced and tried to reclaim his former body, but realizing the situation of things, repented and was merged back in with the original emotions that he originally split from.

Grahf is identified as being moderately evil, due to his repentance in the end. He also possesses high intelligence and great amounts of common sense due to his ability to locate and coerce people of power into doing his bidding.

Zorg

60% Evil, 72% Intelligence, 65% Common Sense

Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg -- Zorg for short -- is the President and CEO of Zorg Industries, a large, mammoth corporate empire that specializes in firearms, spacecraft, and employs most of New York City's cab drivers. Zorg himself is a shrewd and ruthless businessman. He knows what he wants, and usually knows how to get it. He is also not afraid to get his own hands dirty to get a job done when his henchmen fail to do it properly the first time.

Zorg has a moderate rating in all three categories as he is generally regarded as one of the more successful of Evil Overlords (for a human, at least), although his end was brought about by the very people he betrayed.

Nom Anor
45% Evil, 83% Intelligence, 65% Common Sense

Nom Anor is a member of the intendant caste of the Yuuzhan Vong, a brutal, warrior-based alien society that despises all lifeless forms of technology. In planning for their invasion of a galaxy far, far away, the Yuuzhan vong sent Nom Anor in as a pre-emptive strike to destabilize various world governments and sow the seeds of chaos. Being both a manipulator and master of covert tactics allowed Nom Anor to accomplish much of his task before the primary forces of the Yuuzhan Vong arrived, although he did have some mixed results in some of his plans.
Cunning and crafty by nature, Nom Anor earns moderate marks in evilness and a high score in intelligence. However, some of his mistakes were avoidable if he had simply thought them through, leading to a moderate score for common sense

Just for the records: I chose whenever it was possible the giant robots/mecha. It seems to be detrimental to your Intelligence score.

Oh! In one question you have to choose between unreliable and ridiculous mystical beasts, cheap and ineffective human bodyguards or giant robot/mecha...
I wonder what they consider the intelligent choice then.

Mythical beasts, obviously.

There's nothing like a Cockatrice for checking the credentials of petrified entrants who understand that the adjective may be literal at any moment.

Probably because the beasts being mystical and all, they would easily overpower the robots. Sure, they're impossible to find, but if you did find one, wouldn't you rather have a mystic beast than a clumsy robot?

While sometimes portrayed that way in fiction real robots would be far more deft than any sort of living creature, mythical or not.

What really killed me was the lair location. Sure the megacity makes sense, but if you have the option to live on the moon, everything else just pales in comparison.

Grand Admiral Thrawn

Mitth'raw'nuruodo, better known by his core name, "Thrawn", is remembered as perhaps one of the greatest military tacticians, commanders, and threats the galaxy has ever known. Hidden behind his blue-skinned complexion and fearsome red eyes was a keen and calculating mind that took in all around him and observed every minute detail, allowing him to formulate some of the greatest military battle plans ever imagined that nearly brought about the downfall of the then-current ruling galactic government. His key trait was his ability to understand the thinking methods of an adversary by studying their artwork, which allowed him to virtually outwit them in any battle. Sadly, he failed to fully comprehend the thinking and loyalty of a small, diminutive race of skilled assassins, and his end was met upon one of their blades.

Thrawn earns high marks in both evilness and intelligence. Although from the outset of not appearing to be evil in the traditional sense of the word, his cold, calculating demeanor and ruthless efficiency marks him most appropriately. He ranks moderately in common sense due to putting too much trust in both his assassin bodyguards and an insane master of the dark arts.

We're obviously thinking of very different mechs. ;)

Sure, a mech would beat a foot soldier anyday. But really its nothing more than a glorified tank, a clumsy, slow-moving easy target. You can slap as much armor on it as you want but nothings going to shield against a nuclear fusion blast, youll be lucky if your armor stops a few surface to air missiles! With a mystic beast, they are INVINCIBLE. Meaning they can withstand even a nuclear explosion. Think Godzilla versus Striders.

What mythic beasts are you describing exactly?
A chimera is no more durable than a lion, even a dragon with it's thick keratin plated hide (invulnerable to conventional medieval weapons) would still be torn apart by 50.cal AP rounds, granted their cold blood and natural agility makes them difficult targets for information age weaponry.
...
Oh, you edited.

Think Godzilla versus Striders.
I think Godzilla counts as an epic level unit, so it's only fair he's put up against an epic level mech, the skynet colossus for example...

@Anthile Lol, good luck building that...your best bet would be to assemble worker mechas which help build the bigger worker mechas which build even bigger worker mechas...Even then, it probably wouldn't be finished in a million years.

@Cog, point taken.

Also, I agree about the moon base. Right now the world's military has no means which to attack it.

Glorious quiz. I disagree that placing trust in others' hands is lacking in common sense, for one could have a variety of ultimate control methods over them ('I'll kill your [insert person here]', instant death, torture, et cetera)...thus making your life easier and reign subsequently stronger. Hmph. --> Revival of thread?

I got Grahf which is sort of cool, since I always thought if I was an evil overlord I would do all this evil things then after destroying so much, I would casually go to the other side. Although I have never played the game, I have been compared to the bad guy in FF9 that I was told was going to blow the entire planet of something up along with themselves. Which the description of Grahf shows something like that also.

However, some of his mistakes were avoidable if he had simply thought them through, leading to a moderate score for common sense.

Quote:
Does the warmaster truly wish a disquisition upon the New Republic's perverse system of government? It has to do with a bizarre concept called democracy, in which ruling power is given to whoever is most skillful at directing the herd instincts of the largest masses of their most ignorant citizens.

Sauron
75% Evil, 100% Intelligence, 85% Common Sense

Sauron

Krelian

55% Evil, 100% Intelligence, 95% Common Sense

Krelian was the true holder of power in the hidden city of Solaris. Often ruling from behind the scenes, Krelian employed advanced knowledge to achieve his purpose. That being, his desire to create a perfect state of existence in which there is no loss or sadness. He excels in science, most notably in the field of nanotechnology. Using this knowledge, Krelian constructed himself a body made almost exclusively of nanites (microscopic machines that constantly replicate). This essentially makes him immortal, as he never ages, and cannot be easily killed.Krelian is not identified with being inherently evil. He simply seeks to evolve mankind into a higher state of existence. His unique ability to pick up a subject and master it quickly shows his high level of intelligence and his high level of patience put forth in achieving his plans shows an intermediate amount of common sense.

55% Evil? Is that all? I'm ashamed.
