Welcome to the boards... So are you a refugee like I was, or are you just exploring?

I wasn't banned or anything if that's what you mean. I just don't really care much for the current vibe over there. So is there any overlap between the two places? Any wisdom you can give a well meaning noob? Is there anyone that I should altogether avoid (in your opinion of course)?

Do you mind my asking what your old user name was or did you keep it the same?

Oh okay, if you didn't like the vibe there then you should feel right at home here. That was more or less the same reason I left; But I also left out of frustration because I just could not discuss anything with them. It was usually just "No" "You're wrong" "That's retarded" with absolutely no effort put into backing up their stances. Something about that forum just brings out the worst in INTPs.

I'm Adymus on both forums.

Right, I completely understand. It was indeed frusterating when I had fairly decent and genuine content in threads which would be consecutively overlooked simply because I don't starve for publicity and reputation. This is the story of my real live and I don't want to perpetuate it in my virtual one.

Right. I usually just go there when I feel like being snarky without repercussion.

They seem to enjoy that.

PS. Welcome to the forum, Lucylie

Thank you all for your welcomes. I've been lurking around here for a good chunk of my afternoon (intead of accomplishing what I promised myself I would yesterday) and everyone seems to really enjoy staying on topic and being reasonable. What a novel concept.

We stay on topic?

Why was I not informed of this?

Oh you should avoid Kuu, she's an untrustworthy scheming evil bitch that likes derailing threads when she's bored.

Good to see INTPc hasn't changed too much from when I was there last. Good to see you here, though, Lucylie. Enjoy your stay!

Is there anyone that I should altogether avoid (in your opinion of course)?

Oh, everyone, to varying degrees. :storks: Don't worry, though, you'll get the hang of it.

I'm surprised how different each forum is considering the populations are both INTP.

I think it's the examples the popular members make that have an effect on the others. More or less.

Welcome, I hope you find yourself. ( Whatever that means :P )

Yeah, I suppose this is a reply to all of you when I say thank you and nothing that you've said has come as a surprise as far as the people here go and at INTPc for that matter.

I'm looking forward to searching the archives and starting a couple of threads, when I get around to it anyway.

At least a half of members on any MBTI forum is usually mistyped.

Surprise, surprise. Yup. :)

People here generally actually like to engage each other in real conversation.

For the most part I would have to warn you that the above is pretty true even here(although it ultimately depends on the topic), it also sounds like I was lucky to have found this forum first as INTPc sounds horrid.

also, Welcome

Although nobody says anything, I have the feeling that a majority of the people on here think I'm irritating and ignore me, just a heads up.

Noted. I appreciate honesty of course. Thanks.

I think it would be better if you post more; at least in levels of comments of "highly relevant" to "slightly relevant". This using the acknowledgement of the general opinion.

As your official Melkor I'd like to tell you that you aren't, and never will be welcome here.

In addition, I present to you this bird, I caught it recently, please like me.

p.s, Women in baths are attractive, but smoking and being at an uncomfortable viewing angle are big turn offs.

I see that you are quite the veteran here which means I should take what you say as forum law and never ever call you out for trolling right? Yeah I learned that rule from INTPc, every forum has its heavyweights and its wannabes.

Uh...Not really sweetheart.

I'm like the ball that always bounces back.

They may keep kicking me, but being perpetually down I don't need to get back up!

In that sense I'll always be a 'newbie', a terrified and naive creature shuffling between the ankles of the ancient ones and trying terribly hard to avoid being stepped on.

It doesn't help that the forums average is about twenty five, or mid-thrities if you neglect to remove anomalies like Loveofreason and Snowqueen who cause a severe shift in the age scatter.

eh.

Abuse is fun, and apparently I'm fun to abuse.

What a delightful cycle.

Feel like a kick?:D

Very hierarchical... Are opinions weighted by the number of posts that preceded them?

I guess you take your INTP foruming seriously. Perhaps you were expecting a mirror not a group of individuals.

What do you want from INTPforum?

I hope I wasn't misunderstood, I was being a bit snarky. I was actually indirectly asking the question that you just asked me. I don't really take foruming seriously though I've noticed that many people do to a fault.

As far as what I want from INTPforum, I'm not sure that I have any expectations at all, aside from the obvious goal to gain understanding through observation. I came across this forum by chance I suppose, which came at a good time. I was beginning to loose interest in INTPcentral as I was frusterated with the dynamic there. If I've done a poor job of answering your inquiry please let me know and I can be more thorough.

welcome Lucylie - hope you enjoy yourself here.

Is there anyone that I should altogether avoid (in your opinion of course)?

Strangely enough no. Not even Toad who is an ass at times but really just wants to be loved. Melkor is an evil little bastard but tastes nice lightly toasted and dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with hazelnuts, so even he has his merits.

I am really starting to like this place. Everyone seems pretty laid back and willing to be insightful rather than trollish.
