Societies and the INTP

What societies do you think an INTP would do best in? I wonder how INTPs fit into the Inca and Mayan cultures, along with Egyptian, Greek, Chinese, etc., both past and present.. inevitably our personality type is in all places of the world.. I wonder what places and times our type has thrived most? Hmmm...

Assign no gender and the effects this may have. Simply think INTP-like in nature. If we have to consider the gender, we could continue onto other details until we've wasted all of our time covering each possible detail.

Yes...I'm thinking of as society of extreme culture, which is centered around science/philosphy and the arts.

Hopefully this society would be very open and peaceful, and we'd all be very clever and healthy, most likely making fantastic new achievements ina mulitidue of feilds.

Of course, equally, it could be a disiaster.

We might all argue about the nature of humanity, and rights and wrongs.

Or more likely, we'd have such open views on morals that we'd become near immoral..

Then most likely we'd be stamped out be a neighbouring colony of extroverted feelrs who think our policies for peace and freewill are silly and sick.

and of course,i think society needs at leats some extroverts, because, what is a puppetmaster wihtout his puppets?

Japan currently seems very ISTJ with their style.

Even though we're supposed to keep out of the gender side, as a woman I'd have to say Ancient Minoan society as a priestess, the Minoans were amazingly advanced for their time and very sophisticated. They were also very peaceful with little evidence (close to none) of any weapons or defense systems in place. Of course, you'd want to live waay before the super-volcano erupted, but you get my point.

Touche. I have to admit that I was thinking mainly of ancient civilisations because I had been doing my ancient history homework before replying. The Renaissance would be a great time to live. The art, science and education would be awesome, not to mention the music. Thanks for your contribution

All I can think about are timp periods/places where it would have been really bad for an INTP. Like the Spanish inquisition (not Monty Python's version), the Victorian era, and the Cambodian Genocide.

Hitler doesn't come off as ST at all. Did he drive himself crazy? Certainly. However, so far as dictators go, he was incredibly innovative, as can be seen with his rhetoric, his methods with the Hitler Youth, and all the other things he did to make people follow him. Totally an NT. All an ST would do is enforce the current establishment. I don't approve of him at all, but I have to admit there was a brilliant method to his madness.

There is a question as to who's madness it really was Yes, Hitler was powerful, but he was propped up by a very clever, manipulative, scheming little turd named Joseph Gobbels. Was it actually more the madness Joseph Gobbels (who, by the way, was supposed to have been an INTJ) Hitlers propaganda minister? Don't take Perseus too seriously... his strategy is to throw everything and anything into the debate. It's better to view him as a mad poet, rather than someone being serious.

Oh I definitely think we'd do great during the age of the enlightenment where logic, reason, and new ideas were were being formed and was more popular then religion.

Well the age of INTP:s was ancient Greece and modern society think tanks like DARPA,Club of Rome etc.

Although these organisations seem like ST driven because they create technology and ideas that limit personal freedom to create an utopian society where all are happily medicated. Brave new world anyone? by Aldous Huxley.

Japan and Finland are ISTJ countries that are both similar in their high tech society that is utterly boring(in an observatory way) for someone with NT primary.

Well, obviously the idealized version of Greek society that we now have would be great. Or Italy in the Renaissance. I really think though that we are now entering a golden age for the INTP. The internet is giving us the ability to communicate as we never have been able to before, and provide us information in search of the truth. Life is becoming more and more complex, but we have the ability to understand how things work.

basically we would be happy in the western world. Most of the eastern world is very rigid in class. INTP's dont care about that and will tell the emperor when he has no close on. China is out because of that. We would denounce the caste system in India. Be critical of the mis use of resources in Egypt.

Rome and Greece would be good. Germany would be good after the enlightenment. America 1774-1780 would be great. If we were just what the constitution suggested the US is leave me alone ill leave you alone. That better than live and let live cuz you dont even need to see the other dude
