Sooooo.

I used to waste half my life on msn talking to people who were largely from this forum. It was great! The discussions consist of some of my fondest memories, and least bestest of friends. The insults and threats were many and varied, and occasionally you'd get added by someone who you barely knew that you had to figure out who they were before it was TOO LATE.

Good times.

I went away for a bit, msn stopped being a thing, and that stopped altogether. :/

I WANT IT BACK.
I recently got a phone that actually supports a decent version of Skype, and since Skype replaced msn...

So yur. If any of you have Skype and want to catch up, or catch down, or have those hilarious group chats again... Add me! And everyone else, who should in turn add everyone else. I also have a snapchat that is hilarious for posting pictures from below with multiple chins if anyone is into that sort of thing.

Yup, I mean it's gone beyond usual democratic measures.. So until 'revolution', it will probably remain unaddressed.

I find it puzzling as well. We've suspected many things, some of them were confirmed and then nothing, no followup, no initiative. Now it's public knowledge that politicians are funded by private interests and it's become a part of reality. People may think it's wrong but there's no movement, nothing that can be done in small steps. It's clear to everyone that police state is expanding, surveillance is ever-present, the freedom on the internet is shrinking and nothing. Just a few people complaining about this "weather", like a bunch of amnesic retirees locked in the elderly care house.

Is it because all movements and their leaders can be corrupted? Every social organisation loses its goals sooner or later. People are too busy trying to survive and deal with life and there's no energy to improve themselves into desiring higher standards. Perhaps there's no passion for and no understanding of bottom-up augmentation.

It's when they start coming for us en masse I expect to hear public out cry.

There will be no outcry when the changes are gradual and adorned with glitter. People will slowly get warmer until they boil to death or stop caring/perceiving the world in a critical way.

I really, really, REALLY loathe its interface. It's like they want us not to use it.

It really drives me up the wall why people insist on using it for text chat when it's so shitty, it's protocols are closed and there are so many much better systems out there. I've pondered if it would be possible to get a Slack group off the ground. It's got Skype integration now (though i've never tried it).

Yeah not a fan of it myself, I've used it in the past because it was the VOIP of the time but these days I'd rather use anything else, Google+ looks good.

I'd like to just hang out with you all, not hunched over a phone or peering into a webcam, I've been watching MiniLadd and DaithiNogla play with VR on youtube (link below) and that really appeals to me, I'd love to sit and drink in a virtual bar with real booze in my hand irl.

I think society hasn't caught up yet with the new reality, and that democracy, liberalism, and the individual are suffering politically for not adapting. Because of the gradual changes it may be too late for society to adapt before global hegemony takes its natural position but any idea proposed to improve the state of the politics anywhere needs to account for the inherent tendency towards laziness and ignorance in people.


Social orgs are another matter, where it involves both the collection of individual agendas and the need of the organization to sustain itself at any cost. Not to mention influence by outside entities.

I could say yes to political accuracy and checking fear at the door, the problem is that the human mind is susceptible to commit and be affected by propaganda. The question is whether to work against it, in spite of it, or with it?

It was more like a random spontaneously generated channel someone tossed me on (not sure why), and usually it's dead except for these random staticky hyperactive bursts of activity.

I wouldn't really say I'm a high ranking member of any of the chats I'm in, as such I don't like to be the one adding people willy nilly (lest I potentially be blamed and exiled for drama stirred up by someone I added (edit:not that I think you'd cause drama. But I like to be cautious)).
