Rectangles aren't necessarily 100% certain where their future will take them and are not sure if they want to stay in permanent employment or move into the big wide world of freelancing. This lack of focus and great deal of indecision and inconsistency (not to mention that they are very forgetful, often misplacing items or forgetting important documentation), means that there is almost always several items waiting to be properly filed away. It has been said that the only predictable thing about a Rectangle is that they are unpredictable!
The uncertainty of their future makes them a good candidate for contracting or working from home. When they are not in the workplace they can usually be found in the local drinking establishment contemplating which way to turn.
It is not only their future that Rectangles are unsure about. It may often seem that they flit from Shape to Shape almost daily as they try them on for size and see which they like the best. Besides for the desk part I'd say it was pretty much right. Although, my desk is technically clean at the moment because of an ant problem, but I promise that's the only reason. And I'm not such a tight-ass that I would "stringently plan" any social events, let alone plan one at all.

Talking straight...
Lately, you have NOT been yourself! Something has happened in your life to cause you to question yourself. You are going through a difficult period right now.
Your choice of the Rectangle indicates that you are in transition. You are experiencing great internal changes. Everyone experiences Rectangular periods in their lives. There is usually an identifiable cause. Some event/person/situation has provoked these feelings in you. Typically, the Rectangle emerges within us when a critical life event occurs; i.e. job change, relocation, promotion/demotion, marriage, divorce, loss of child/parent, physical accident/illness. You are forced to cope with this new life circumstance.
