MBTI public identifiers

I was thinking today that it would be awesome if people into mbti wore t-shirts with there type written in big letters on the front.
That way you could immediatly have an insight into the personality of everyone you see. So if you were an extroverted person for example, and saw someone wearing an INTP t-shirt, you would know that the INTP doesnt dislike you, its just there not talking to them because of how we are. Would also be a good conversation starter for people.

Letters printed on the front would be good, but shapes which we all understand to represent the types would be better. So intp would wear a blue square for example and intj's would wear a yellow star.

I also think mbti identifying would be really good on this forum. I know there are some people who put there type in there signature, but I think the forum would be much better if our type appeared under our avatar. There are many forum threads on here were people want to figure out if something is a characteristic of INTP's but then INFJ's and INTJ's respond on the thread and there response messes up your theory. All types are welcome on this forum of course, but its got to a point where INTP forum cannot be used to get an accurate understanding of what fellow INTP's think.

I think its best if the shapes we use to identify us are arbitrary and decided quickly without much discussion as us INTP's would spend ages deciding on our shape, and people would want to change theres etc so you'd never have an agreed upon standard.

INTP = Blue square
INFP = Red triangle
INTJ = Yellow star
INFJ = Orange circle
ISTP = Green square
ISFP = Yellow triangle
ISTJ = Blue star
ISFJ = Red pentagon
ENTP = Purple square
ENFP = Blue circle
ENTJ = Green star
ENFJ = Purple circle
ESTP = Red square
ESFP = Blue pentagon
ESTJ = Yellow circle
ESFJ = Orange square

Bang done, So what do you think?

Well I actually already do this, but that's because I have MBTI Shinigami Eyes.

I actually do think it would be better if people just learned how to visually read personality type off of people, because it is more accurate than taking their word for it, and it gives you more information like how well developed they are, as well as how they use their function.

There is no code, its arbitrary. If it was any other way we would never agree to a standard. Honestly I know our type and others pretty well and I'm hoping you'll just take my word that its better we just accept the shapes rather than wait for everyone to agree. People may not like this for whatever reason but this way it gets done, he have a standard, and we can just start doing this!

So anyway, apart from the shapes do people like this idea?

Good idea; that way we'll know when an ESFJ enters the room.

why not go with the simple

INTP = XVI
INFP = XV
INTJ =XIV
INFJ = XIII
ISTP = XII
ISFP = XI
ISTJ = X
ISFJ = IX
ENTP = VIII
ENFP = VII
ENTJ = VI
ENFJ = V
ESTP = IV
ESFP = III
ESTJ = II
ESFJ = I

Simple numbering that looks clean as and dare-i-say chic? If we do make T-shirts at least make them look pwetty ;)

PS: XVI has nothing to do with Pope Benedict XVI >.>

I like this one, but only because I am partial to blue...and it's organized.

Okay if you think ESFJs make fun arguing partners, you need to hook up with an ENTJ stat. At least they have intellectually stimulating things to argue about, and won't be lost on every logical and abstract thing you have to say.

yeaaah. no yellow stars please. please.

honestly, i don't like this idea at all. as much of an mbti whore i am, i don't at all like the idea of people pidgeonholing themselves with their type. and in an "ideal" world where everyone knew about mbti, it would just give us more to judge people and be prejudiced towards them about. you'd have asshole intuitive types avoiding sensors like the plague, just because they think they're better than them. it already happens on some mbti forums; in the real world, it'd be a fucking pandemic.

so. yeah.

So dont wear them. Even if this takes off you would have very few people wearing them, dont start worrying about some bleak future where everyone is typed and not wear a t-shirt just to avoid an impossible situation.
Nazis made jews wear yellow stars of david not just yellow stars. Who cares anyway were clearly not sending of intj's to concentration camps, just a stupid coincidence.
Lets stop talking about the shapes and focus more on the idea and its implications

You don't need these identifiers to tell what someone's type is. It's usually pretty easy to tell what someone's top extroverted function is just by looking at how they interact and carry themselves.

Se - tests you verbally in some way to gauge your reaction, more likely to get physical with you in some way
Ne - comments on how something going on in the room is ironic or funny in some way, likely to tie random seemingly unrelated information into a conversation
Fe - tries to understand where someone is coming from, likely to say things to make people feel better or encourage them
Te - states opinions more bluntly, will be more dismissive of others' opinions

other functions usually become pretty apparent as you get to know someone, but these are the ones I pick up on right away

I don't know how I much I like the Idea of us all wearing badges on or sleeves or something....just seems kinda...Nazi like lol. I'd imagine we'd either have to force people to do this or only see a small percentage of the population (and types) doing it (because most don't care and couldn't be bothered by such a thing).

I am starting to think, though, that the world would be a much better place if we all knew each others types. I know it helps me understand how people act and what I can do to get along with them better. Instead of seeing people as "different," I think people will be much more inclined to see people as they are, and realize that it's more about nature than nurture.

I say we just keep it discreet so that people who DO know the badging can ID each other whereas other people would be oblivious to the symbols we display, believe it was just another obscure clothing design

obviously i'm just theorizing about an unlikely future in ridiculous circumstances. last i checked most of us don't have a problem with that.
just saying why i don't like the idea.

...Eh, you sure?

I guess I can't be sure, but based on what I've read/seen, I am very inclined to believe so. Everyone here acts alike despite having completely different upbringings. We all see the world in the same way.

Before I found out I was INTP or even introverted I thought I had gone wrong somewhere down the line. I always wondered if I used to be like this or if I had just lost all my self-esteem someplace. Why did I feel so uncomfortable around others? Now I realize that it's just the way I was made. Society needs so many of each type to function and evolve. Like other people on here have pointed out, without so many people to do the busy work, fill our jails, clean toilets, and dig ditches, nothing would ever get done. Our personalities and the way we see things are a product of evolution.

Of course nurture is always going to have a role in it, but I believe (based on the evidence here) that without a doubt it is more nature than nurture.

Stopped reading there.

Are you saying your 100% sure about everything you know?

If you have an argument for our personalities being based on nurture more than nature I'd like to hear it.
