Blah. I don't want to be INTP. I'd rather be INTJor some type more conducive to success.

I think ENTP is my go to chameleon type. When I find myself in a situation where being my usual INTP self isn't working for me I tend to lean on my knowledge of what an ENTP would do or how they might process the information given to them. It is exhausting though being something I'm not naturally. Then again maybe all of this is just in my head. *shrug*

I got that it was some kind of f/t thing but not much more. Felt unspecific.

I still find it hard to separate how others feel from how they think, to me the two are in such a tight reciprocal relationship that distinguishing between them is difficult, unless it's a pure MBTI thing, in which case I don't consciously try to figure one out before the other.

Having read Spirits post I can see how the test makes sense. I hit skip on all the questions which had dichotomies that didn't make much sense to me or which I found myself having trouble deciding between.

Result:

61% INFP
14% INTP
7% ENTP
6% ENFP
4% INFJ

I don't wanna be a goddamn INFP :(

But like seriously, questions such as:

I hate it when people don't consider: others emotions or the facts

How are others emotions not facts?

Why not INFP? I think it is better to be Fi than Fe.

The difference between your emotions and facts are that facts exist outside yourself emotions exist only within the people who have them.

Feeling vs thinking

If you are Fi then you think using feeling and you may not see a difference as readily as a Ti. Fi is a value based system. You know what is important and so that is what you do. T is deductively reasoning out each situation. Instead of knowing what is important based on your feelings you reason out if this worked last time then it should work this time, if I received these results here then I may receive the same results here.

I find that Ti is a slower form of decision making than Fi but more adaptable.

I can agree that the question can be misunderstood, but what would be a better way of asking it? ?? "Do you prefer to act based on feeling or by reason. ???

forgive me for the over simplified example: A kid runs up and grabs a cookie off a table in the market and starts to eat it. The parent grabs the cookie from the kid and says "What were you thinking". The answer was that the kid was not thinking, he was following his feelings, and urges. His values were the cookie and he had little value in him for following the rules because he has not been taught that value yet.

Thinking would be using deductive reasoning. You notice that no one touches the cookie but you want it so after waiting you grab the cookie and see what happens. You get in trouble, so you put the cookie back.
INTP version If my logic is validated then I would know that getting caught would get me in trouble so that means the only logical solution is to grab the cookie when no one is looking. :)

An adult Ti would reason that stealing the cookie would lead to consequences and not be worth it. An adult Fi would know that stealing is wrong.

T is the measure of action vs reaction, deduction vs induction. F is the measure of your internal values. The logic of T goes as far as determining what has the greatest value in your value system and then making a decision based off that value.

I feel that going to school is important so that is what I am going to do FEELING. I know that going to school will statistically give me a better chance at getting a decent paying job THINKING.

Anyways many Fi/Fe seem to indicate that this value system is the same as thinking and the values that they have are the facts, but I do not share that same belief.

As a T, I view thinking as a logical "if then" statement and the facts are the results and the data coming in regardless of my personal values. My personal values are actually what contaminate the facts.

They say the more you take the test the more innacurate it becomes because you own biases will have a greater sway.

Interesting test. I think I need to take it a few times though - I found it hard to choose between some of the options.

You like to answer ambiguous questions.
Yes No Skip

Why do they gray out skip? Now I have to take the test over and over and over.

Apparently the test is supposed to adapt to the previous answer and notice trends.
"What makes your test different from others? Other personality tests ask an equal number of questions for each letter, and count up the number of responses on each side. This one is adaptive – it selects questions based on the outcome of prior responses. It also uses a statistical approach to scoring, rather than going letter by letter. This is an early version, but I think it’s as accurate as existing tests and significantly shorter."

Not sure why the quiz is called 25... it was like 40 questions (still worth doing)... it gave me the following results:

[IP Address]: Test complete! (restart)

19% INTP
17% INFP
13% INTJ
11% INFJ
11% ISTP

Which is about right... I normally score dead even between INFP and INTP or else barely leaning toward INTP. This was my first time ever taking this one.

I've come to a point in my life where I've used my thinking to realize that I should go with my feeling to get the most out of life. I've also recently givin' up pretty much all care for what other people think of me--which has caused me to be much more socially open--which allows me to say more things, and therefore have longer social interactions with both new people and old friends.

I think this is my favorite test of all of the ones I've taken so far. I think when I'm in a bad mood, that is when I register more towards the IXTX types.

EDIT:
I redid it and skipped the questions I was more unsure of and I pretty much got the same results.

Took it three times. I think there were a couple F questions that kept coming up which I'd answer, but when they didn't, the T prevailed. Interesting. I'd like to see it, if it had more questions before it spit out the results, to possibly get a less variable answer:

I had to answer 40 questions before it gave me my results, haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't get INTP as their top percentage. It's weird though, because I've taken the Meyers Briggs test several times, and I've never gotten anything but INTP. I guess this test just didn't ask as many specific questions and that's why I got the results I did...or I'm just a very confused individual whose personality is all over the place.
