I think your username is fine. It could be literally anything, as your impression is constructed through an accumulation of all your output.


'deathvirtuoso' doesn't lend too much weight in that impression, so it gives you a lot chances in developing your persona. There are relatively much worse usernames to choose from.


*not that I'm all that big on developing personas. I just observe and output what comes to mind.

Some of the more considerate, welcoming, and caring forums moderation teams I've seen around have made provisions for their members to change their screen names once every 3-6 months.

viche, name changes have been disallowed for many years. There are legitimate reasons for this, and you can look them up. "Stark responses" are warranted, given that there is a sticky thread in the General section informing users of the owner's decision and has been for many years. Users need to inform themselves about the forum rules, and mods cannot be expected to reiterate them all the time.

New accounts are granted in rare circumstances, at mod discretion. We are interested in keeping identity continuity on this forum, unlike the forums where members change their names every 3-6 months leaving other members in a state of confusion about their forum identity and misleading them.

You should consider if you understand the situation and forum rules sufficiently enough before giving advice to other users.

Freshly made alternative accounts will be banned and the user will be expected to stick to their original account in the absence of prior mod approval.

Okay, i created this thread 2 months ago. But one of the major reasons why i need to change is because my username is sort of linked to my "real life". and there is this person i really need to get rid of. I'd file a harrassment report if i had enough evidence. The thing is XX searches ANY possible username i can have online etc. on ANY forums XX thinks i frequent. fuckkkkk really need to get rid of such a scum.

I just feel invaded very easily. And i want some damn privacy. There are actually some other reasons, but still. Like you, i want to "reinvent myself" therefore i have to get rid of some people in my life, and keep only what matters. Cant do that when a scum is around.

Lol I created that to improve my Chinese to a native level. I don't really care about that since there's nothing that private. BUT I STILL FEEL ATTACKED. WHY R U DOIN THIS TO ME LADY. WHY. FUCKKKK I was preparing to do a deactivate spree, but kept fearing that I'll regret it. I even got a new phone just so I could restart everything lol.

Deathvirtuoso is a neutral name anyone could take, except if you've violated privacy 101 and there's a link between your credentials and this nickname.
You can contact admins of sites hosting your real information requesting they remove it, you can also contact google to hide search results with your real name.

If the problem is serious you can pm me with the details and we can think about the solution.
