- I'm not telling you, stalker! :P
Your thoughts on this? I'm not planning to add my analysis until I see you guys(or girls).
An SJ would be weird in an INTP world.
Everything is relative.
I have a theory that everyone wants to shine. The only thing is "shining" has a different meaning and approach for all people. For some types to shine means to stick out, and be independent minded. For others, to shine is to fit in and cling to the past or an established belief.I have this theory...
Most People are just people. Some people shine. You have to wade through all the Most People in order to get to the ones that shine.
Most People don't want to stick out.
Most People want things to never change.
Most People stay Most People their entire lives.
People who shine like differences.
People who shine like changes from the norm.
People who shine are often few and far between.
When I get really frustrated with people who fear weirdness then I stop and remind myself that they are just member of the Most People. It's kind of like Lor's "non-existent" thing. Except that Lynching Mobs are made up of Most People.
Sad but true.
But saying that ruins any form of debate because everything is subjective and relative and your opinion and your perspective! An SJ would be weird in an INTP world.

I think people that actively TRY to be different are pretty silly.

Those 'non-conformers' are still being oppressed since they are still defining worth based on what others do in order to be 'different'. It's just another form of conforming, IMO.
Of course I like variety, but it's not a necessity. What I like is truth. Be true to who and what you are. That's where real variety comes from. These people that try to be different for the sake of it (mostly) don't actually want to be different. They're trying to attract attention by saying "HEY LOOK AT ME I'M NOT LIKE THE REST OF SOCIETY." Either that, or they're afraid that they can't compete in normal society, so they withdraw from it. The result is the same, though. Why silly? Don't you feel that need for variety as well?
Did somebody clone me? GET OUT OF MY HEADYES. I don't understand that compulsion to be different.

'Weirdness' is not about being 'different' but about being yourself regardless of what others do. I know some people that change completely what they are/do/believe just because somebody else starts doing it. It's so fucking stupid. I'm not about to stop doing what I like if somebody else starts doing it because 'it's not unique anymore'... I do it because I like it, fuck what everyone else thinks, I don't care if it's weird or mainstream or whatever.
I don't appreciate weirdness on difference's sake, I appreciate the integrity and authenticity that 'weird' people have.
Bullets are so NORMALI'm weird in the nervous ticks, unkempt appearance, overly analytical demeanor, and twisted humor sense of the word, but I certainly don't go out of my way to draw attention to myself.
Although I did a bit in my youth, choosing to give off that potential school shooter vibe with the trench coat and combat boots. But I outgrew that. Now I give off that middle aged, had enough bullshit, potential workplace shooter vibe.

Kuu actually took the words right out of my mouth: "just another form of conforming"
There's nothing wrong with conforming or not conforming. The point is that it doesn't matter. People should be who and what they naturally are. It's the people that pretend to be something they're not they I find silly. If someone is weird and tries to be weirder, would that look negative in your eyes?
Though, on another issue, I don't understand what's wrong with conforming: even if in a indirect or "hypocritical" manner.except, of course, for the lack of variety.
The hypocrisy of not-wanting to conform? I view it not necessarily as the indirect goal of someone's social issues but the direct attribute of what it is: unoriginal difference or not.
I don't know how to respond to that. And I know for sure that I don't want to touch it. Please don't ever work in my office.Who said anything about bullets? I'm a masturbatory assassin.
Woe to those who come to work without a raincoat and goggles on the ill fated day that I finally snap.
EDIT: Was that ^ a weird thing to say?
Why? What if a person's original trait included "pretender"?There's nothing wrong with conforming or not conforming. The point is that it doesn't matter. People should be who and what they naturally are. It's the people that pretend to be something they're not they I find silly.
Oh yeah, sorry. I frequently forget about the bizarre things I write on this forum and then come back later and think "did I really write that?" This is one of those occasions.I don't know how to respond to that. And I know for sure that I don't want to touch it. Please don't ever work in my office.![]()

Also, it's not about 'negative' or 'positive'. I have several friends that seem to have a desperate need to conform. I don't hold it against them; I just think it's a waste of their mental resources. I think it also complicates their relationships when other people slowly figure out that they're not the same person that they present to the world.
