I notice with every INTP forum that I have visited, the choice of avatars by it's members have the same characteristics. I am just saying...

What other INTP forums are you on? I only know of INTPcentral.

and wait, are we unique or do we share characteristics? Or do we share of the characteristic of being unique? Is that still being unique? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Look at Wishing Wells... that's unique. Pink Floyd. It has meaning behind it and the art is weird from first glance until you think about the meaning.

Same with Reverse... Looks normal until you realize the face the cloud is making seems like the time when I am sitting on the toilet after having to pee all day.:o

I've noticed there tends to be, in both INTP and INTJ forums, a preference for cats and wolves. Outside of that, I haven't really noticed any other prevailing trends, well except maybe for anime characters. Some of these characters seem to be quite charming and/or weird.

I think INTPs like hidden meaning in their avatars. I like to have some level of abstraction to my images, then I end up wondering if others figure out why I chose the avatar I did. I think otherwise there's a lot of variety with what we use if only because we're interested in choosing something either clever or unique.

Yeah, your Avatar is weird. Agent Smith is suppose to be a robotic and cold person, and yet his "robotic" personality really shows here. It's weird...

I always feel as if my brain is close to dividing by zero whenever I hang out in an INTP forum. It's weird.

Yeah I like to hide meaning in my avatars, since I make my own it is easy to do. It makes it more fun that way... I change avatars fairly frequently, figuring the subliminal message has been transmitted enough times to leave an impression...

ahh, I actually spilled tea in my house today.. As for the whole 'INTP Avatars are unique' idea, I think it'd be pretty easy to make that argument for any type.

Why would I pick an avatar that's not unique?

I believe that INTPs are more prone to choosing their avatars because they hold some hidden meaning or such behind them as opposed to just because they look pretty :P which is what makes them "unique"
(there ARE exceptions of course) ^.^

I choose my avatars for the feeling I get when I see them... Memories they evoke, atmosphere, basically.

For some reason, I think that guy has the same look as one who suddenly has a gay guy jump on his back...

"Do I let him stay, or do I beat him off?!?!"

I chose mine on the basis of atmosphere too. And meaning as far as my interests go, but emphasis on atmosphere. This is the only one I've had so far though.

Da Blob: Frankenstein's monster as the modern Prometheus as opposed to Frankenstein himself? Like the creation now has some control over the creator? I just read Frankenstein :p

the absence of an avatar is an important symbolical virtue that we should all share. it shows something.

I also choose my avatar for atmosphere. I looked through Hubble telescope pictures until found one with the proper feel and look, also because I love astronomy.
