I immediately wake up, use the bathroom, grab my computer to check for emails etc. shower, think about doing chores then put them off, back on computer to start my day.

I put me alarm clock to ring at some X hour, then when it rings I put the clock to repeat 10 minutes later. This goes until I realise I am late for my class.

Sad story.

Rollover, reset alarm, an hour later I rollover again and turn it off, then I pickup my IPad from my bedside table and log in to INTPforum.

I just woke up.

I lay in bed as long as i possibly can, and then I get up. If I'm to be at work at 7:00, I set my alarm clock at 6:02, because you know... 6:00 is too early, and 6:05 is too late.

Then I usually snooze until 6:40, making twisted reprioritations lying in bed:

6:02 - I can have some sandwiches and buy a burger for lunch. *pushes snooze*
6:12 - I can shower and brush my teeth at the same time. *pushes snooze*
6:22 - I'll brush my hair in the elevator. *pushes snooze*
6:32 - I really don't need a shower. *pushes snooze*
6:42 - I don't need breakfast. *pushes snooze with a bad conscience*
6:45 - What the fuck am I doing? *dressing and rushing off to work*

7:00/7:01 - arrive at work.

If I'm on vacation, as I am right now, I'm up until late at night and wakes up around 15:00. Or today, I woke up at midnight and will probably go to sleep around 15:00. I am an extreme person...

An inner alarm clock goes off. Once my brain engages and starts thinking I'm up and go up to my aerie office. Sleep is a matter of the brain being mostly off.

First I wake up mentaly, then I wait until I am awake physicaly maybe 10 min could be an hour just depends. Unless I need to do something, then I wake up and the entire activation sequence happens in less than 5 seconds.

Second one: Wake up
Second two: Proccess what needs to be done
Second three-five: get out of bed and open the door

From what I understand about biology the human body was not designed to wake up in alarm every morning. It does bad things to you, especially over time. I've been using a sunrise clock for the last fifteen or sixteen years. I can't tolerate regular alarm clocks anymore. I don't even like the beeping the car uses to let me know the door's open and my keys are still in the ignition - the sound is too similar to an alarm clock.

Same as @skip, I absolutely hate alarm clocks, however I have no choice due to lack of money.

If I go to bed when I want to and I don't have to wake up 2 hours later, I usually wake up within 10 minutes of when I want to wake up. I guess that's much like @Architect?

Anyway, when I had to go to school, especially at the 12th grade, I often reset my mobile phone alarm to an hour from when I had to wake up, but then usually I just cancelled the alarm and slept for another 4 or 6 hours.

On the occasions when I actually get up, I usually get up grumpy, trying to do things as fast as I can so I wouldn't be late more than 5 minutes to the first lesson.

When I wake up when I want to wake up (no alarm clock), I usually feel sleepy, but I get out of my bed, quite unhappy, turn on my PC, go to the bathroom, get back, stare around 3 to 5 minutes at my screen until my PC finally boots up. Then I do what I feel like doing - from watching a movie to playing a game, to reading an article, to posting on the forums...

When I have the monetary possibility to get some coffee, I make some coffee instead of staring at my screen, and drink it in half an hour when it cools down to non-tongue-burning temperature.

This is me.

I am so unreasonable in the morning. An extra 5 minutes is worth killing somebody when I wake up, though the reasonable me knows it is completely negligible.

When I wake up, I'm irrational and angry.

I'd love to be able to wake up to the sun every morning, but I can't make myself go to bed at a reasonable time and still wake up naturally at the right time.

I set my alarm clock at 6:02, because you know... 6:00 is too early, and 6:05 is too late.

Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream....

Nice. Unlike Paul McCartney's routine, however, I prefer to have some coffee, eggs, philosophical reading material, writing assignments, these things, perhaps followed by a shower. Maintaining an ironclad schedule allows insanity and fresh ideas to be borne forth from other sectors of my life. A day in the life, so to speak. Well, maybe I share the coffee aspect with Sir Paul McCartney.

When I read this thread, snafu, I couldn't resist :D....
My normal routine is
1) waking up
2) making breakfeast (coffee included)
3) doing any homework and/or finishing a book
4) back to sleep
5) wake up
6) getting ready for my daily commute to the hellhole called school

Really loud alarm next to my head to make me acknowledge it. Annoying alarm on floor across room set to 5-10 minutes after first one to make me get up. Beyond that I don't really register being awake until I've stumbled into the shower.

I usually wake up a few minutes before the alarm is going to blare. I don't know why this is the case, but, it's what happens probably 4 or 5 days out of every 7.

I leave myself the minimum amount of time possible to get up, eat, shower, dress, and leave for work. If I gave myself more time, I'd take it. So, when I do wake up (via alarm or otherwise), I have almost no time for screwing around, or playing mind games with myself about how long to hit snooze. I gave up those games a couple decades ago and my life has been better ever since.

When I wake up I take my phone and go internet browsing. When bored of that, I get up, wander over to my computer, and do some more internet browsing.

Snooze, snooze, snooze, turn off clock, wake up two hours later, suddenly have sense of purpose, do nothing the rest of the day.

That's my summer anyway.

I have a peculiar habit that 9 times out of ten I wake up about 5 minutes before my alarm. If I change my alarm it takes me a day or two to adjust. Or sometimes if I have an important reason to be awake earlier than usual I still wake up before my alarm anyway.
However when I'm on holidays and go back to sleep afterwards it completely ruins my rhythm.

My alarm is set to some music which starts with some quiet talking, and I find it a much nicer way to be woken up.

i'll make an inventory of today's spirit, thoroughly check the inbox of new memories (of dreams) and ideas and such. can take sometimes take a couple of hours and involve sleeping for another dreamcycle, or i'll just get up quickly. turn on the computer, have a glass of water, boil water for instant coffee, while i mix a protein shake, drink the coffee (very slowly) at my computer ... . (unless my inventory of spirit resulted in another schedule for the day)

There are two types of days:

Type One: Wake up 5 minutes to an hour before my alarm goes off, even though I probably went to bed at midnight or 2, and am waking up sometime from 5 to 6. Still, I will feel completely awake, get up and make coffee, then go about the day, using the extra time in the morning to do something I've wanted to do but haven't had time for, like reading. Usually this type is characterized by not having to think very much while waking up, and with occurring when things are "going well".

Type Two: I don't wake up. At all. Nobody can wake me, not even by throwing water on my face. I sleep through all alarms, until noon or even ~2 pm, and I miss things I am supposed to go to. This type is characterized by a long waking up period, in which apathy predominates. It typically occurs when progress is stagnated, which is incidentally when insomnia also occurs, leading to the other iteration of this type, in which I just don't sleep for days.

Very rarely do I experience anything in-between, so I just aim to make it a good type one day.
