How many people here are NOT INTPs?

I'm just wondering how many people on the INTP forum are not INTPs. I see quite a few INFPs hanging around, and I'm an INTJ. I think there are a few other INTJs here, but I'm not sure who they are.

So if you are not an INTP, post what type you actually are and why you're on the INTP forum.

I'll start:

I'm an INTJ and I'm here because an INTP friend told me the people here were awesome, and the INTJ forum wants me to be 18 when I'm 16 and I don't feel quite up to faking my age, it gets old fast. (bad pun intended)

I'm an INFP and I came here, well because I like INTPs(And because I like to lurk on forums and collect info ) .But the decision to register came after
reading some of the crazier threads around here.I liked the relaxed atmosphere instantly. :)

I think I'm INTP, but honestly nowadays I have no idea.
It's very possible that I'm INFP, or INFJ.
I'm just sort of...here. No exact affiliation.

EDIT - @kianara;;
I've been faking my age online since I was 7 or 8. I only recently started giving out my real age (14).

The REAL question is, how many people do I have to ignore as a result?

I am an ESFP. I originally signed up because MBTI labels me as an INTP. I'm here (again) because someone asked about me coming back.

In the near year I've been gone, it seems the INTP's exclusive clubhouse mentality still is rampant. Any choosing to remain ignorant of other types, are fully within their right to do so.

However, I also request that people ignoring me - let me know so I may return the favor. There's no point in posting to people that have deaf ears.

Don't worry, Mel is just bitter 'cause no one pays attention to him and he is an INTP.
I remember you, Yozuki--it's cool seeing you again. Are you just visiting, or staying a while? ^^

I remember Yozuki too, you had a very particular way of writing back then, which seems like you arent doing anymore.

I think we are pretty open to other types, I believe that the ones who come are treated well and their perspectives valued (those who posted in this thread could say wether its like that or not). However, this is INTPforum, its only natural for INTPs to be majority.

My second response was only in reference to my speaking style.

I'm just too lazy to edit the box, coding has a habit of breaking when I do. :phear:

Eh, I figure that the INTPs have the right to ignore whoever they want to, even Mel if they so choose. I just figure that I'll post anyway and enjoy chilling out here. We ignored people can chill out on our own.

I like the non-INTP's here. There's a special place in my heart for INFP's. :hugs:

(I only tend to ignore argumentative posts.)

Oh.. and I'm quite certain Descartes was INTP.

Is there anything special we should do to help you feel included?

Lor decided against special Non-INTP subforums because she didn't want this place to be ghettoized, and I support that.

Really, I prefer that I don't always know the type of the people I'm talking to. Keeps me polite and on my toes. Still, the whole INTP friendly atmosphere is great for gooffing off. Have we somehow offended non-INTPs by doing so?

INTP posting in a non-INTP thread!

I enjoy the other types here, and in response to the "clubhouse" comment... I think it's good for INTPs to have a forum where they're a higher % of the population. We don't meet many INTPs in the real world, and are surrounded by other types. This forum has been instrumental in understanding & accepting ourselves.

I think we should adopt something off of the INTJforum site, and have under our profiles our MBTI Type. We already have location, why not type as well?

PS: I've also read that Descartes was an INTP, not an INTJ...sorry!

Yeah, I've also been wondering about that... I think that would be cool.

I'm an INFP, and I originally joined for help with a friend of mine who is an INTP... I stayed because, as others have said, INTPs are just totally amazing. :D

That is so true! It is rather pointless to Speak to those who are not Listening..
However, I'm glad you and the others are here. I just that that having multiple points of view are better than tunnel vision... Usually any Exclusionary group is less effective than a complimentary Inclusive group

I agree that we do have a club house mentality. However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. This forum is basically an INTP club. It's for us, but anyone interested is welcome. And I'm very glad we have a significant population of non-INTPs. I appreciate the different perspectives, and from a self-help standpoint, we INTPs can only do so much on our own.

Good Point. I mean we are a 'persecuted' minority, so to speak, often being the only INTPian in a group of people, so it is very good to be a member of the majority for a change, as long as we don't detract from others on this forum

Hey, Yozuki, you are back! You know, in my first days on this forum i had a real hard time figuring your posts out. I mean not actually understanding it but getting to know why you would write that way. I didn't want to ask, because it could be that you were just not an English native speaker and not very apt at English, a few times i thought maybe you (the text produced) were even from some kind of Language-scrambler :p
Now i know you do it on purpose and are just as crazy as NoI, Melkor, Lor, saffy and co :D (Crazy in a good kind of way)

I don't think we should have a "type" field. Lor's argument against a "gender" slot applies to this even more.

I'm stating that it might be tempting to do so. Unadvertently. Not because we wish it, but because societies -unfortunately- work that way and we've all grown up watching these group patterns.

Yes, it is a sad component of our species, that 'We' will still form Us versus Them boundaries based upon the slightest of differences between groups. and perhaps even sadder is the accompanying belief that We are always better than They are...

It could be more convenient to move the types to a more visible location, but if it were really important to people that others know their type, they could put it in their sig (like me among many others)

I actually like it more here than when I lurked the INTJforum. They make too much sense and draw too many conclusions. I like being here with the Perceivers, I feel different and my viewpoints aren't quite as similar as everyone else's. Plus the clubhouse mentality is nice.

I am an INFP, and I am here as therapy after a horrible relationship with an abusive INTP. I am trying to learn more about which of his qualities were actually INTP traits, and which were things that he merely claimed were INTP traits in order to get away with being abusive and critical. I also have a crush on an INTP I met online, and he told me to come here because he thought it would speed up the healing process if I got to know a bunch of non-hostile INTPs.

...oh, and I'm also here to collect members for my NT harem, because NTs are the most interesting people to chat with, even if I do sometimes have trouble with them in real life.

LoR just said that there wont be an official non-INTP section in the forum, but you can make a thread of whatever you want as long as it doesnt break the rules. If you feel like doing it, I say do so.

I love this recent flood of suggestions to the management :D

also I want a frozen yogurt stand. Right outside the "Fun" section.

Why not rename the forum to www.mbtiforum.com ?
Oh no, I still want this to be intpforum. INTP majority is for the win. But we could just have all the INTP threads in "psychology" or "mbti & other typing". There's plenty of overlap anyway. And then I wouldn't feel like there's an exclusion going on.

Ya know... INTP-centric, but not obsessively so.
