Writing a speech on how sleep depriviation affects you but i can't seem to stop procrastinating. I think i've been sitting at my desk for an hour with zero productivity so far *sigh* :(

Any pro-tips? Maybe i should go look in an INTJ forum for help.

PS: It's incredibly hard to get rid of my Pness when im trying to do work of any kind zzzZZZZzzzzZZZzzz

Why does everyone have this problem? The one and only word you have to remember is "Go".

Find motivation. Find interesting writing.

Lost in my thoughts
I don't know if my advice will help, but I'll give it a shot. I like to jot down a few points that I'd like to speak about, and then just write about them as they come. I find that if you do that, not only does writing the 'content' portion of your speech come more naturally, but speaking it is easier as well (as you'll have the main points you want to touch on outlined nicely). I also like to write my speeches (fairly) informally - it helps take off the edge, reduce the speaker/audience divide, and also lightens up the tone (throwing in a few self-deprecating jokes/witty humour into speeches instead of pontificating for ten minutes also helps, I find).

This is what I learned about myself a long time ago...

I spend 90% of my allotted time writing a paper, speech, designing a project....all in my head. I roll it around, twist it, turn it, stretch it, approach it from as many angles as possible.
I used to stress because I wasn't able to put pen to paper right away and all it would do was block the creative flow.
Even though I might not write anything down until the day before or day of, I find my grades are usually at the top of the class. I assume because I spent so much time thinking through the assignment.
Hope this is some consolation and wish you well.

1) Introduction: Introduce topic, state its importance, why you doing it, some facts, outline the main points you will be discussing.

2) Main point 1: introduce, argument, evidence, conclude

3) Main point 2: introduce, argument, evidence, conclude

4)...

5)...

Conclude: restate the main points, the conclusion from the main points, draw final inference without introducing new information, restate why or importance, final statement

1. Sit with your fingers on the keyboard.
2. Make your fingers move.
3. Edit anything that doesn't make sense.

Kind of like the sculptor who said his technique for carving owls was to look at a block of wood and cut away anything that didn't look like an owl.

your premise, on the other hand, could be that sleep deprivation denies you the concentration to finish the assignment....

I like that! It would definitely be original. You could write about the stuff you are doing instead of focusing on your speech... if thats possible:confused:

I'm kind of hoping that there will be some time in my schedule this fall to take another speech class. Presenting information is an invaluable skill. Also I'm kind of a masochist.

Just have fun with it - let your creativity flow.

I read "GAH! I HATE THE SPECIES!" 5 times in a row.

"How sleep deprivation affects you...
It makes it hard to focus. (long pause, no emotion on your face)..."

Try to do some brainstorming activities, write down all ideas you get, without censoring initially. Then after a given amount of time you can go back and re-evaluate the ideas, elaborate etc.

Maybe it helps.
