If you could do anything in the world at all, and earning money weren't an issue, what would it be?

I really don't understand the question? as in it's illogical, the only path in life is to 'Follow your bliss'. In reality you should be doing whatever you were destined to do, and money isn't an issue.

An interesting point on your personality is that you have a belief that 'You can't do anything in the world, as one must earn money'. You could have simply stated it as 'If you could do anything in the world what would it be?', the extra money part is irrelevant and detracts from the question as it adds unnecessary complications.

Well hopefully your destined path is either work or self-sufficiency because otherwise good luck to you. Yea in reality you should be doing what you like, but thats not how it works. That being said I agree money shouldn't have a big impact on which career you choose but I think it should have some impact, you still must survive.

I would seriously revise your beliefs, especially in relation to placing earning money over doing what you want to do? Wouldn't you agree?

Obviously, this dude has money. If he didn't he would realize that the lack of it is a pervasive and paralyzing influence in your life. Almost every major decision in my life has been determined by the lack of money. Oh how I wish I could just "follow my destiny" and not have to worry about how I'm going to keep a roof over my kids' heads and clothes on our backs and food in our mouths. Get over yourself, dude.

My first dream job would be world dictator, but that is unlikely to happen (soon anyway.... Muhahaha!!!!). My second dream job would probably be army strategist, since I enjoy realistic and imaginative problem solving. Plus, I have no real capacity for empathy, which means I would have no problem whatsoever sending people to their deaths. However, I would rather not spend my entire life climbing the military ranks, so I am trying to become a writer instead.

A job that involves no effort whatsoever while earning loads of money. I also believe a lot of INTP's would quite enjoy that aswell. ;)

I would hate it. It just goes against my fundamental ethics. A job that requires no effort probably doesn't get anything done that isn't purely symbolic. Unless you just find difficult tasks effortless, in which case I get your point.

Plus I just enjoy... doing things. My mind is at ease when I feel like I'm doing something useful (although I find a lot of things useful that people conventionally find "useless," like using forums).

Hmm. My dream job?

Filmmaker. Not just one of those directors that yell at actors and get all the creative credit for what the screenwriters and set designers and cinematographers did either; I'd be all of those things myself. I'd probably make a lot of big-budget biopics, off-the-wall fictional films that popularize my philosophy (as egotistical as that might sound, my philosophy is derivative and ever-changing, meaning I derive it from the values and actions I see in others and find noble, so it's not really "my" philosophy, but a culmination of what I've seen and what I think about it, and objectivity filters I use to question myself and keep control of my emotions), and documentaries.

I'll probably end up being some kind of researcher or engineer though. I really want to apply scientific concepts to art, though. Using real-world concepts for symbolism, rather than existing cultural motifs (ex., I had an idea to personify the four fundamental forces of physics as angry gods in one story).

one of those people who snorkle all day long picking up those nasty starfish on the Great Barrier Reef.

Simply a God. The creator of all. What would amuse me would be the ability to create intellect and watch it. I would like to leave some things out of my knowledge.

Travel the world study fungi specimens. =) Particularly their chemical compositions in hopes of finding compounds of pharmaceutical interest. Or any interest. Or maybe the next LSD.

I want to put my analytical abilities to a greater good; in particular I am considering working in the EU Commission, formulating policies around energyplanning. I believe that cooperation between the different European Nations are of great importance, and I find the idea of EU to be quite a beautiful ideal.

I wouldn't believe so, but could anyone of you INTPs want to picture yourself as a civil servant?

I'd own a cross-specialty engineering megathinktank which provided research, brains, and design/construction services to industries and individuals. Whenever I had an idea for some cool thing that the world could really use built, I'd be able to have a block of resources assigned to making it happen. People working for me could also have boosted priority on their own ideas.

Arguer about free will. Not a professional philosopher, they need to write about lots of things: just someone who gets paid to argue about free will. Like from a booth or something. I'm reasonably good at it, it doesn't require any effort, and it's enjoyable. I just need to find an eccentric billionaire to employ me in that capacity...

(Everyone is telling me to get a job, so I keep thinking, "I could be getting paid to do this!")

The lines of work in which you can express an interest on the Jobcentre form are way too general: I don't want to work in 'law', I want to be a lawyer in Ancient Rome. I don't want to work in 'academia' (I do, actually), I want to be a space anthropologist or someone who argues about free will for money.

I would love to be a musician, but unfortunately to be heard of in the modern music scene you must tour which i refuse to do, so i will most likely end up in a programming job or some form of science career most likely involving chemistry or physics.
