What are your experiences wearing it?

Among the four scents I've tried Nautica Voyage is my fave and it''s perfect cause I'm super cheap. I tend to put too much on but get compliments when I wear it, it's definitely a confidence booster in addition to having a nice wardrobe. Now I'm looking for one with a little more "musk" and am thinking of trying Cuba Gold.

Yea, parfum, perfume, cologne, after shave.. Had em all on, me.

Some smelt good, some smelt not so good.

But I survived the experiences anyway.

Apart from simply smelling good, or not, the only other experiences of note would be when a guy accidentally gets a taste of the perfume from off my neck, and draws back in disgust..

These days, I spray the upper body bit on my clothing to avoid just that.

The none upper body bit being the wrists lol.

I wear it rarely. It feels superfluous and most of the time I don't think about it because I'm already wearing deodorant. It's interesting some people see perfume as a very essential part of their presentation.

I only have 2 and they were both gifts.

I'm currently using my cousins.

If I see it, I'll spray it!

Me and my friends sometimes walk through Selfridges just to spray our selves with their most expensive perfumes, or to get sprayed, more to the point.

You can't walk past the staff without them spraying something on you.

Can be fun, and you spend the rest of the day smelling like a hundred bucks.

Usually, I just smell of weed and coffee tho :D

Fukyo some people wear it as an aura which I don't mind if it's not too strong. Most people won't notice your deodorant unless they're literally in bed with you, so some wear a fragrant to surprise people when they get close.

Coffee has a nice smell, but you know that funky weed that smells like armpit musk lol. I would like to try out more scents at the mall but I feel awkward shopping as a guy.

Ha, I feel awkward shopping as a girl.

I needed some shoes last week as a matter of urgency for a meeting I had (moved house the other month, minus most my belongings, as per fucking usual) so I ran into a big store, which was typically too big to fucking find anything in, so I called a staff member over and asked for DIRECTIONS to the shoes ... Instead she ESCORTED me to the shoes, and then proceeded to advise me on various fashions and styles.

Based on the ugly things she began recommending I cut her short and was like "I literally just seek smart black shoes, no funny designs, no toes hanging out, and laces please".. she then proceeds to hand be some blue shoes which she think might look better, whilst also handing me three other pairs of unwanted shoes to try on at the same time.. I was completely blustered into trying the first two pairs on, until finally I caught sight of some bloody black shoes that would just make do for the occasion.

But she wouldn't have let me leave quickly if I had of allowed her to continue so I cut the interaction short with a "I know my tastes suck, and yours are probably far more fashionable, but I really need something quick, and I've spotted plain blacks ones over there >>> drops arm full of shoes onto the ground >> Thanks for your help all the best >>> runs for dear life.

Afterwards, on my way out the store I was bitching about her intrusion to a friend, and I think she over heard ... That made me feel really guilty because she was just trying to be helpful on her end... But shit, I wish people wouldn't try and help where it's not needed, that makes you a hindrance!!

Oh, and "Armpit Musk".. You're smoking some mouldy weed dude! lol

Oh oh oh, I once put cologne on to see if it would make my ex paranoid about other men. It did.

Fairly often, I'll find myself minding my own business, when someone walks past and I'm hit by a prissy olfactory brick wall and left sputtering/gasping for several seconds before I recover and move as far away from the smelly source as possible.

I hate strong artificial scents and the oblivious sods who inflict them on me. It's almost always dudes that do it too. I'm am more sensitive to smell than average and an asthmatic, so I suppose it's only natural. I don't hate all of them mind you, some are inoffensive and a select few are kinda nice. Similarly, I hate the smell of hair salons, bath & bodyworks, and about half of candle/incense shops. I also, strangely, have a slight kink for cigarette smoke, despite being a nonsmoker; cuz I'm a weirdo.

I don't bother with scented products in general, myself, as I don't produce apocrine sweat (thank you, genetic lottery). I do get positive 'perfume' comments occasionally, but it's just a misattribution I don't bother to correct from my shampoo/conditioner. It's very mild as per my preferences.

Why would they steal perfume. Family is crazy.

You didn't do it because you liked the masculine scent? ;)
I'm guessing that's how he became your ex.

.. Sometime's I buy myself Lynx just to spray it on my pillow.. and if guys shower gel is available in the shower, I'll usually wash with that. Smells so much better than flowers or pomegranates or whatever bullshit they sell us women.

Nope. I'm not that bad, I only pulled his strings once or twice in that regard.

You know, to test the boundaries, lol.

Did you have smokers in your family while growing up?

I think Axe is partly to blame which taught guys to douse themselves in the stuff, but as someone who's more numb than sensitive I can't imagine being hit with everything as you walk by places. blessing/curse

I don't, or rare. Like what for? It's rare I see humans. And even rarer they get close to me. But I am definetly interested in the science of smell. The film parfume still lingers in the back of my mind as a lovely piece of art.

I could easily imagine James Franco in that role for some reason.

What do you mean it's rare that you see humans?

With crippli's question I just remembered another thing, that once you establish a scent of someone it can trigger positive emotions to remember them. So I guess it could be beneficial for wearing around the workplace or your SO/family.

I don't like wearing deodorant/ cologne and find its unnecessary if you shower 1-2 times a day. If I'm going out or its a special occasion I often burn incense gums & resins (copal is my favourite) and soak the clothes I'll be wearing in the smoke so that I'll have a faint scent of it.

That sounds pretty cool actually, it has a neat little ritual that reminds me of hookah preparation.

According to my wife, I'm quite unique in that I'm a man and yet do not stink (:ahh:) and so whilst I obviously use deodorant, I seldom use aftershave, or whatever it's called these days.

When younger, I used to be a fan of Joop! (and so did my ladyfriends) but these days I have no fucking clue. My mother occasionally buys me '1 Million' or whatever it is. I think the one I have at the moment, which is still pretty full, was a shitemas or birthday present from about 4-5 years ago.

Meh.

The wife wears smelly occasionally. I have no idea what, and don't really care either way.

I wear perfume whenever I find myself needing to dress nice when I'm not going to work. So basically, about 5 times a year.

I'm really particular about it, now that I think about it.

I've used the same scent for like a decade now (basically since it came out). It's called Truly Pink by Vera Wang. I use it very sparingly too, since it's a perfume, not a "body spray" -- the lightest spray I can manage on my chest and another inside my right wrist.

I've browsed places like "Bath and Body Works" for good smelling sprays and hand sanitizers and stuff, and I find them largely unappealing.

There are not many people around where I usually am. Like none where I keep the cows most of the summer in the mountains.

I don't think the cows would like artificial smells.

I don't use cologne and I don't like to smell people, a neutral, weak deodorant may be fine. Some women/men have overwhelming perfumes that I can feel from a few steps away and they linger in the room which is especially annoying. Some are quite intent on using it to their advantage/notice when they close in to hug or greet me so that their scent becomes apparent.

Heh, crippli your cow looks hungry for pie. :p

Interesting responses guys, thanks. To be honest I didn't really care for cologne myself until recently, I had a couple gifts as well that lasted several years. One day I just became curious to try another and it clicked for me, I don't know. The one I have smells really nice to me, so it's much more personal aesthetic than functional.

Kinda suspicious about the people who said they don't stink though lol.
