Sometimes we even watch horseporn together on Google+.
It's a party.
Sometimes you kick people because they cause "drama" -- You know when they have actual conversations about things of substance like me and Kevins debate on "insults" it's a very interesting topic if you ask me.
It creates creativity. When you my opinion/view/understanding of something/attitude/whatever (thesis) gets challenged by your opinion/etc. (antithesis) Or vice versa. We are both forced to thinking in ways we've not thought before and ideally that should give you a "synthesis" i higher mean of sorts. It sounds a little cheesy, but if you're open minded debating can really give you that outcome... You learn.
And this is why I love so much to debate (or argue as many people see it) with everyone. Most I know or meet take it as an insult, that I'm going against what they say, as if I think I know better than them. But actually it's more of a compliment. I'm saying that "I think I can learn from you" Because I'm trying to get a "synthesis" with that person.
How about "Avian", or "Winged, feathered creature"?

Too bad you missed it.
Yea, it was truly spectacular.
[ Was I even there? ]
We did! We had to do it without you, I'm afraid. We should celebrate horseporn night monthly so you and Derek can see it.We never got to see horseporn together...

I hope there is a lot to choose from.
Can we please change the title of this thread?
it's lobstrich's thread. Who is this "we"?
If I had a thread involving fucking dogs and some guy blowing it way out of proportion
Both. Conflict of opinions is always good.About conflict: conflict isn't debate. Your (lobstrich) post explaining why you like conflict seemed to explain why you liked discussion and debate. Did you just mean a conflict of opinions type thing? Or do you think conflict is good in a wider sense?
Also yeah that whole "this isn't a democracy" thing was bullshit. You were asking for an ethical justification, not demanding a vote.
Both. Conflict of opinions is always good.
But I also meant in a wider sense. We gain nothing from living in harmony. If you live in harmony you'll do the same thing every single day.
Nobody lives in harmony.
Also, when I say "conflict" I don't mean war and killing. I just mean that there's no harmony or agreement. (Though both things.. At least the latter one. Can be useful sometimes.)
Exactly.
Yes, you gain harmony from harmony, you don't get any further knowledge. You do gain something for being harmonious. If you agree with each other then there is no reason to argue.
Sure you can share your ideas and not necessarily have to debate about it.You can still be creative without arguing by sharing ideas with another person.
The exact same thing, every day. Because that's what harmony is. The same thing, without any 'interruptions' at all. What thing would you be doing everyday if you lived in harmony?
Yes, you gain harmony from harmony, you don't get any further knowledge.
Also, I never said "argue" I very specifically use "debate" because what I see a debate as, is a collaboration of opinions, views and knowledge that creates 'better' opinions, views and knowledge. ('better' because what is better? What I mean is that I might take in what you say, and maybe you will as well. Arguing is when people stop listening, when people get annoyed and it's nothing but yelling.
This process is impossible if you live in harmony because you will never ever be in disagreement, nothing bad will ever happen and nothing will ever stand in your way. Because you live in harmony (Like I mentioned before. Nobody lives in harmony anyway) But if you live in conflict you're forced to thinking new. Why? Because you want harmony. It's quite paradoxical actually.
This is nothing but my theory of course. It's not a theory that nobody lives in harmony though. That's a fact. Even the Buddhist monks don't live in harmony. The water the bathe in might be a little too cold (disharmony) he and another monk might budge into each other in the doorway (disharmony) etc. etc.
Sure you can share your ideas and not necessarily have to debate about it.
But I don't think you can be creative while upholding harmony. The entire basis of creativity is disharmony, it's something new. It's something that breaks the lines that once were.
The exact same thing, every day. Because that's what harmony is. The same thing, without any 'interruptions' at all.
Right, okay. But what about, what you said about creativity? (Annoying sentence, hehe)I was half-joking when I said to live in harmony. It's better to be able to compromise. Earlier you did say you like to argue though.
