I just went to see Watchmen the other day and though it was one of the most god awful movies I've seen in the past few years, maybe my whole life.

Has anyone else watched a terrible film lately, either one that was so horrible it made you want to slit your wrists or one so bad, it was actually good.

I can't stand most disaster movies. The science is usually so bad it makes me cringe. I want to find the people responsible and beat them with one of my heavy textbooks. So, most of the time I avoid them like the plague. I have liked one or two, but most of the time I just can't watch. Bad, bad Hollywood. No cookie.

Watchmen? The Matrix? If those are seriously some of the worst movies you have seen, I envy you.

Here are the ones that I can (unfortunately) remember:

Bug
Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2

Troy, worst movie ever made. What, was it a contest on how many times Brad Pitt could be shown naked?! Puke...

Twilight. Everyone at school talking about it, decided to watch just to check if it's just as awful as the trailers suggest. The baseball scene...just wow. I've never laughed so much during a film. As for guilty pleasures, I kind of enjoy the Saw movies (interested in what kind of fucked up traps they included this time). Battlefield Earth was painful and Cannibal Holocaust is probably the worst 'film' ever made. I was disgusted by the fact that you can become famous by directing such an idiotic and pointless piece of shit.

As for Watchmen, you can guess my opinion about it from my avatar. :)

Have you ever heard of Shaolin vs. Terminator? Of course you have not! You don't know what true evil, true despair is before you have not seen this aberration. But I warn you, if you intend to remain at least a little bit of faith in humanity or a benevolent god, stay away from it.
If you see it somewhere, run. Run as fast as you can and don't turn back.

HAHAHAHAHA!! If you guys want bad movies, you don't look for them in the mainstream. Try:
robo vampire
laser mission (with brandon lee)
cyborg
cybernator
devil's dynamite
the room
machine girl....
the list goes on and on, I'm just too tired and high to remember coherently. By the way, most of these movies double up as incidental comedies, although I doubt that was ever the intention.

I don't think Machine Girl was particularly bad, just mediocre, boring.

I don't mean to invalidate your opinion, I just want to know why you think Night of the Living Dead is a bad movie.

Please do clarify.... the year of it.

The plot is overly simplistic for one. In the year it was produced, movies needed a richer plot to keep the attention of the audience. Perfectly aware of their visual limitations, a certain complexity was needed to draw people in. Now, our attention is kept by the campy affects. Back then? It was violent. Thats it. I mean the modern equivilant would be something like.. [insert pointless horror movie].

I saw Night of the Living Dead as social commentary and I think that's how it was intended. The movie came out in the late 60's, the lead was a black man who goes through complete and total hell to survive the night in the face of flesh eating zombies, he takes leadership of the scared shitless white people, and as it turns out the real threat was a posse of white guys with guns.

And the sequel, Dawn of the Dead, was set in a shopping mall full of zombies. The irony is delicious!

But I don't know what the hell Day of the Dead was about.

:D

Manos Hands of Fate is by far the worst movie I have ever seen. I saw the MST3K version (I don't think you can watch the original) and was still begging for my fiance to cut off the movie. I think I lost a few brain cells. It was filmed with a crappy camera that could only capture 16 seconds of action and all audio was recorded in a sound stage. One character, Torgo, is satyr like who talks in creepy voice. My fiance enjoys talking in his voice just to torment me, though he makes sure I don't have access to a potentially deadly weapon.

I really enjoy rifftrax though. One of my friends loves to to sync them up to movies. We watched Twilight last week and it was 10x better.

Here's the Wikipedia link if any of you dare to watch

If anyone has a chance to see Ninja Terminator, and not take it as seriously as it takes itself, then you'll laugh all the way through, seriously, it's one of my favourite Ninja films.

In terms of bad films, I'd have to say Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, though I've not seen it all, so I can only judge by how dire the start is. It also has the distinction of being the only film I've ever willingly turned off because it was so bad, and I've sat through the Shortbus, even AFTER seeing the very "artistic" opening.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, MANOS HANDS OF FATE WON 240 ACADEMY AWARDS, INCLUDING BEST PICTURE, BEST ACTOR, BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (TORGO), AND BEST MOVIE WITHOUT A COHERENT PLOT OR STORY....

Seriously though, this movie sucked more dick than Bush, jr. Some other movie suggestions that were lacking:
Chupacabra 2: Dark Seas
Kraw

Both films, in my opinion, are scifi classics.

Well, an octopus capable of swatting down military jets in mid-flight and a shark that can FLY THROUGH THE GODDAMN AIR do pose serious security threats. It's a serious movie for a serious business concerning a serious issue. I for one commend this movie's creators for tackling such a topical and attention-demanding issue that is larger ignored by the world's marine biologists and country leaders. For too long have we had to ponder just what exactly our game plan would be when the mega awesome shark and giant freaking octopus frozen below our very feet are freed from their icy prisons.

I actually liked Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. Any movie that busts out into a choreographed musical number in the first five minutes is awesome in my book. Plus the whole spinning crucifix done in the style of Batman was classic, it's so cheesy that it's good. BBut then again I'm the type of person who enjoys finding the obscure. Still haven't mustered the guts to watch Surf Nazi's Must Die though. However I have managed to sit through Battlefield Earth, it actually was playing on a movie channel and I was bored and couldn't pass up the opportunity to watch a craptacular piece of brainwashing material.

Fantasy Mission Force...a movie so bad, it's amazing. It 'stars' Jackie Chan, even though he appears in a grand total of five scenes - the movie really doesn't make any sense at all, and is chock-full of anachronisms (but hilarious to watch). Yes, that man did say that he is Abraham Lincoln, yes, the Japanese are apparently in the Northwest Territories/Nunavut, and yes, that is probably the heaviest amount of copyright infringement that they could have squeezed into a twenty second slideshow. Should you manage to find a copy, read this review after...I gotta say, though, Fantasy Mission Force is so bad it swings around twice before it goes back to being so bad it's good :p.

It's even worse than I.K.U?

You know, I actually consider you as a valuable friend but there just some things I will never forgive you.
Hmm, but what would Jesus do if Peter would have talked him into watching I.K.U.?

I think Black Sheep was one of those movies so horribly, undeniably terrible that it somehow tricks your brain into thinking its amazing. Genetically engineered zombie sheep? I mean, just look at the tagline...

There are 40 million sheep in New Zealand... and they're pissed off.

I've really enjoyed some of the stuff they've churned out like Toxic Avenger and Citizen Toxie but I could happily burn every copy of some of the other stuff they've released, Toxic Avenger 2 and 3. They're very hit (fun in a shitty way) and miss (terrible in an I want to crush my head in a vice) for me... probably more in the latter category.I don't think I've seen anything by Troma that I could say is actually "good".

I saw a good one (disaster movie) recently. It was about global warming, storms with great intensity. New York City got snowed under. Visuals good enuf to forget the plot. I forget it's name. The science was interesting.

one film i found out has a really bad write up from empire but personally i think is genius is office space...great for anyone who has had a job they hate... always makes me feel better. 7.9 on IMDB tho

back on topic.... i think the worst films are the ones everyone seems to think are good.. but are really just pieces of mindless drivel

vantage point is epically bad.... i cant believe they actually thought they needed a device to stop it and rewind back to the original scene... Anyone who has seen Pulp Fiction could get it in a second and thats pretty much everyone

The last really horrible film I watched was The Box. Directed by the same guy who did Donnie Darko, it turned out that DD really was a fluke. While I usually refrain from schadenfreude, it is certainly for the greater good of humanity that Richard Kelly will most likely never direct a movie again after this disaster.
